Our salesman Dewane and the manager we spoke with, Jason, were great. But American Signature as a company has the worst customer service! I agree with the person that wrote the other review, the quality is so-so and delivery takes forever! We ordered a canopy bed and a mattress set. We were told the bed frame and mattress would be delivered on a Saturday and the top canopy part of the bed would be delivered the following Saturday. So Saturday comes and the delivery guys show up with the bed frame and no mattresses! We go to costumer service and they say "the mattresses were in the warehouse I dont know why they werent delivered with the bed". So they agree to credit back some of the money to my credit card. Meanwhile were sleeping on our old mattresses in the living room because they wont fit the new bed. A few days later the mattresses come, they have a strong almost chemical smell to them that Im still waiting to dissipate. Then I get a voice mail saying the canopy part of the bed wont be available for at least a week later then originally promised and they will again credit some of the purchase price back to the account. Oooook... 10 days after I was told the first time money would be credited back there was still no money credited back!!! So I again call customer service and just got off the phone with them. Apparently there was "a glitch" and the money should be there in 4-5 MORE days. Thats great considering I was expecting the money at the most 5 days ago to pay a bill from last month!! I didnt realize ordering a bed and mattress set would be so complicated!! Really hoping this is the last of all the problems were had with American Signature Furniture. I was planning on buying a sectional from them a few months down the road but now Im considering looking elsewhere for that. Like I said, the staff in the store are friendly but the Sarasota store and the warehouse in St.Pete dont seem to have any professional communication!

This was our first time at this location. I think it might be the last one too. Terrible experience. As soon as we walked in, a salesperson(which I choose not to reveal who it is) came to "greet us". Well, we were very clear that we were there just looking around and were not interested in having anyone help us. I told him that I would look for him should I have any questions. So as we began walking around to see the furniture we spot this guy creeping up on us from distance looking to find out what we are looking at. With every turn, we spot him somewhere looking straight at us. Then, the inevitable, he shows up to ask if we wanted any help. At that point, we were very uncomfortable. Not only was this person following us in a sneaky way but he was insistently trying to talk with us when we made it clear that we would be the ones looking for him. Not the other way around. Then...the inevitable..he comes around to ask us if we have any questions. So my wife finally asks him a question to try to break the ice and make things a bit more comfortable. Things got weirder. He seemed to be more interested in how much we were going to spend than anything else. When we gave him no figure, he began trying to push for something around 1500 bucks. As we walked around with this creep, my 3-year-old daughter falls behind the mattress. He turns at my wife and says: "OK mom, you need to watch your daughter". That was it. We quit on him. My wife left in tears because you dont say that to a mom. We start to walk away. Then he says: "That is it?". Really? How rude. We left. Terrible, terrible and terrible way to treat customers. I have nothing else to say except that you guys do not deserve the 1 star I gave you here. I had to do that in order to be able to leave this review.

We stopped here on a whim when we finished shopping at Fresh Market. We are on the lookout for living room pieces since we want to redecorate. The sales people seem nice and the merchandise looks nice as well and it is a quite large store but sadly thats where it ends. As with the other reviewers I am very skeptical of the quality which doesnt seem to be present. As with almost all new furniture it is mass produced in China and I imagine utilizing every trick known to cut corners for more profit. Some drawers we tested were very flimsy and most of what we looked at in general looked fragile. Many chairs felt uncomfortable and not a quality that would stand the test of time and/or daily use. My wife could actually feel the board under one sofa cushion when she sat down. And she is a small person. In fairness the prices here seemed reasonable however I suspect that may be because the quality has been compromised more than usual. I would not recommend this store unless you are okay with lower quality less resilient furniture with plans to replace it within a few years at best, not concerned with warranties or guarantees, and price is no object. We have discovered that shopping for new furniture these days can be very disheartening and frustrating since one never knows what lies underneath and what materials are being used and how it is crafted. I think we may start looking at other options.

***Buyer Beware*** I like their furniture overall but feel that it rarely survives the test of time. They oversell their warranties for the furniture as well. The sales associate assured me when I was buying my couch that their warranty was "no nonsense" and "hassle free". He sold it as if any thing happened to the furniture, from ANY cause, we would be able to get it repaired free of charge. This is ABSOLUTELY not the case. Their warranty company fights tooth and nail not to cover damage, and they are downright deceptive about it. The warranty paperwork states that they handled tears in the furniture. When I called to get a tear repaired, they stated that what I described constituted as a "scratch" and is not covered. Very misleading and a large waste of time and money. When I called the store to complain about this, their clerk was very helpful and even stated that they should cover my tear. However, she stated there was nothing she could do. The manager was supposed to call me after this to discuss my issues and I never received that call. The sales people are misleading and the furniture quality is not great. I will most likely never shop here again.

American Signature is lucky to have such knowledgeable, patient, determined and customer oriented management like Taj and Jason at the Sarasota store. The delivery staff (whom we are getting to know very well) and Ray the manager of the St. Petersburg location are also awesome to work with when you have any issues. We have gone thru 2 different living room sets that had frame damage and were unsafe for children or animals to be around dropping their staples and nails. We have dealt with multiple repairs before the company helped us find a safer option. After seeing them work to rectify our situation my father actually went and purchased a couch from them knowing that if he had problems he was in good hands. After receiving our 3rd delivery this weekend of a different living room set, they got the couch right but the ottoman delivered was not the one we spoke about. Having a sick baby at home Im hoping that Taj will be able to straighten everything out for the final time on Monday and Ill be able to enjoy my new room like we discussed and Ill be able to change my rating a little more.
