I visited these guys a long time ago (08 or so) when I was a college student, having them change out my Gary Fisher Rigs rear cog to something more flatland worthy, and with commuter slicks. He even gave me a discount because I rode my bike in, also being extra friendly because we both are named Dan (I think). Very reasonable prices, finding me a great deal on tires that happened to fit, telling me something I didnt know at the time, that my rims can run 700c tires, despite being called 29ers. Now being a bike enthusiast, and having experience with other shops, some that are even racist, I have to say that they way these guys treated me is exemplary, top tier. If I werent on the other side of the country now, Id feel inclined to call up and befriend the owner and see how things are going, but I figure a fresh review and a shout out would be sufficient for now. I also learned good bike etiquette from some of their customers, getting me to know rules of the road, also participating in one of those Critical Mass, which I felt at least displayed just how many cyclists there are trying to share the road too. Havent been hit on these Cali roads where they drive 40-70 MPH a couple feet away from me, due to what I learned, staying vigilant. I still remember the guy that convinced me to cut 1-bud off from my MP3 player, as a compromise for not giving up music while riding, and thank him for his wisdom.

Absolutely the best people in the business! These guys are so nice and accommodating, especially to a newbie biker like me. Steve and Brandon never tried to sell me anything; instead they just explained all the bikes and styles. Steve even went riding with me around the block and showed me some things. Then they let me take any bikes I wanted for a ride to make sure I got the bike that fit best. I cannot recommend these people enough. They even ordered me a WeeHoo ride along for my son that they didnt carry in the store, but I was looking for. And they saved me some on it. Plus the owner has an original Star Trek III movie poster and ticket hanging up, which is just so geekily awesome. I want to add that Ive visited 3 other bike shops in the area, and Retro were the most friendly and easy going. Davids World Cycle in particular was an unpleasant experience. Ive never had an employee make me feel so uncomfortable. They made me feel like a moron for not knowing everything they knew about bikes. Funny thing, I spoke with my neighbor and before I could share my experience she said, and I quote, "I dont like Davids. They are mean." If you are looking for a family style awesome group of people who know a ton about bikes, tout the best mechanic in the area, and will respect and help you, go to Retro City Cycles!

Staff is extremely friendly. I ordered a basket for our dog to travel with and they special ordered it. Came in and they did the install which wasnt the easiet by any means. As we waited we spoke with the other available staff. Conversation was great as we waited for it to be done. When all was said and done we were really surprised on how cheap it was. We looked online for baskets and they were the same if not more than what we payed with it installed. Before even thinking about a basket i rode in for help with adjusting my bike. they did it free of charge in a couple quick seconds. All while giving my dog cold water to drink and even a treat. I love these guys and would recommend going in there over any other bike shop in the area. Not only are they awesome the places to walk around nearby are equally as awesome. So if you need to wait hop in to the CD/vinyl shop next door, or the morrocan decoration shop.

I had a great experience with Retro City Cycles. I called first to make sure they had the parts I needed to fix my bike, and the phone was answered promptly and the representative was knowledgeable and quick to answer my questions. I went in later to pick up the parts I called about, and ended up going with a buy-3-get-1-free special on the products I needed. I had ridden my roommates bike to the shop (since mine was broken), and the gentleman there tightened up the handlebars on that bike for me for free, which was much needed. Great folks over at Retro City Cycles.

This bike shop is top notch in customer service. Needed clip-less pedals switched, Dano offered to do it all for free along w/filing my tires and even dusting the bike off. Another bike shop never offered to switch my pedals from the road bike and my current mtn. bike, I was told to buy some flat pedals they had in shop and were going to charge me for the labor as well. Retro City Cycles knows how to treat their customers and make them want to do repeat business. Thanks guys! I plan to buy my new bike hopefully soon through your store.

The worse place I ever been, they dont know about customer service, no professional and very unrespecfull., I CANT NOT SUPPORT small business like that sorry, I have my owen business and for me my customers they first no matter what for that reason they lost me and 7 more customers for the same reason., I DONT KNOW IF THE OWNER KNOWS WHAT HAPPEN WHEN HIS NOT AT THE STORE. Sorry I hate to do this but, I have to do it., BE CAREFULL PEOPLE, specific with Brandon.

When I started riding I spent my time looking for a shop to call home. Retro City has become that home. The staff is always inviting while being serious, attentive, and prompt with their work. You wont find high pressure sales situations or a mechanic trying to sell you high end replacement parts when you all you need or can afford is something basic. A REAL shop for ALL levels of riders. My first recommendation across the board.

Awsome bike shop. It is rare to find employees that care as much as Retro City Cycles employees do. I was amazed at how each customer that came in recieved the same 5 star service that I was recieving. Great selection of parts and if they dont have it, they will get it for you quickly!!!

Retro City Cycles is a wonderful little bike shop with great customer service. Their selection is a little limited, particularly when it comes to accessories. But their pricing is fair, and its always great to support a local business.

Walked in, told them what I wanted and how much I wanted to spend and they hooked me up with a very nice bike within my price range. And I was in and out in about 10-15 minutes. Great service and knowledgable.
