I have been dealing with Jim at The Bicycle Shop for little over one year. I originally went to Jim seeking information on what was involved to have a touring bike built from the frame up that would be suitable for cross-country riding. My original focus was on an upright frame I had purchased for this purpose. My knowledge of bikes, gears, gear ratios, brakes and fitting were nominal. I found Jim to be an extremely knowledgeable individual about bikes who also had personal experience with cross-country biking that added much to the multiple discussions we had. Jim was very understanding and patient with my many detail questions, calls, and visits during my decision making time period which turned into a rather lengthy process and a detailed build parts list to get the bike components I was looking for. Long story short, in the end I made a decision to go with a recumbent bike which meant even more discussions and decision making starting from the frame up. I feel Jim helped me to reach the best decision for me and the biking I am planning on doing. Never did Jim show frustration rather Jim always made me feel welcome and treated me more as a friend then a customer. I was and continue to be very pleased with the bike that Jim built for me from the frame up. Jim, thanks for a job well done!! Since my purchase over a year ago, I have been very pleased with the service that Jim provides after the sale. He is very a knowledgeable, sincere, and honest individual. He takes pride in his work and is willing to discuss options and leaves the final decision to the customer. I have found Jim to be very easy to work with and will be dealing with him on my biking needs in the years ahead. He continues to make one feel welcome and is willing to stop what he is doing to address questions, needs or repairs. I highly recommend The Bicycle Shop to anyone who is seriously interested in biking. You will not be disappointed!

We had such a great experience with our Co-Motion tandem from The Bicycle Shop, I came back for a custom single! As with the tandem, the fit and finish of my new NorWester is top notch. Jim takes the time to understand what kind of bicyclist you are and what you want from it. His fittings are very thorough. Jims attention to detail on the build is second to none. We have thousands of miles on our tandem, including some loaded touring (total us + load over 400 lbs!) and not even a broken spoke. You might find cheaper shops, but you wont find better.

I have know Jim for over 15 years and would not trust anyone else with my bike service and purchases. My entire family has purchased bicycles from Jim because he takes the time to not only properly fit you for the bike that you need but purchase the bicycle that best meets your needs. I am currently stationed overseas and still have Jim take care of my bicycles. This is an A+++ run bicycle shop! If you are a true cyclist or you are interested in getting the honest truth about a bike...not a sales line to get you to buy just to buy, then this is the place. After moving to the area, I had been unsatisfied with all the bike shops and assumed that "the bicycle shop" was the same low quality spot. After calling and speaking with the owner, Jim, followed by subsequent visits, I will never consider going any place but. I have been referring interested cyclist/triathletes to check it out. You wont be dissatisfied.

I had such a pleasant and eye-opening experience when I stopped in the bicycle shop. After talking to Jim and having him answering my questions not telling me what he thought I wanted to hear and not pressure me to buy anything I knew I found the place that I wanted to buy a bike.
