look around before you do business here came to this pawn shop to get a loan against my new macbook pro that i paid 1500 dollars for not more than 6mths ago. this was my first time pawning something, so i was unsure what to expect. unfortunately they not only low balled me by saying 150 dollars is all they can do, but then they tried to tell me that they just got the same computer in earlier that day and thats all they give. i would have believed that if i hadnt been the one who asked for 150 originally and not them offering me it. and secondly just cuz they got another computer earlier with a mac symbol it doesnt make it the same computer. i computer can look the same and be different by a thousand dollars given the hardware in it. like in my case, but they did not even take the time to check the specs in order to make an informed decision on what its worth. i know they very well could have loaned me the 200 dollars given the price of the cpu. asking for a 200 dollar loan on a 1500 dollar computer is not unreasonable but they sure tried to make me think it was. so i ended up driving down the road to pawn-stars by rowan and he had no problem offering what i needed to get by till i got paid. he even took the time to check all the specs to get an actual understanding of what that particular mac was worth and was able to help me out with out an issue. you who reads this pls make an informed choice about where you bring your business and know who really is trying to help and who is just trying to take advantage. oh and i do agree with the last comment. i also think the positive comments are left by staff. its too coincidental for the word "respectable" to be used in both reviews by people who randomly write reviews. oh and lastly expect to get followed every where. i only went from the front door to the aisle where the window is and they guy literally followed me from the front door even though i was headed striaght for the drop off window with a computer. i dont know how that would be treating customers respectably. if you want my opinion shop around before you go there.

Ive gone to think pawn shop numerous time to buy thing, and they have decent prices. Today though, was my first experience trying to pawn/sell something there, which apparently is a totally different experience. I was selling a few common drill batteries for a drill I had that doesnt work anymore, and really didnt care what I got for them as I didnt really need the money, just wanted to get rid of them. The person at the counter told me he had not use for them, nor any equipment that could even use them (keep in mind that I come in this place all the time, and that these 18v batteries are used for multiple power tools from rotary saws and drills, to radios and flashlights. The thing that bothered me most was the disregard with which I was treated, and how I was made to feel like I was trying to sell batteries to support a drug habit of something. I deal with pawn shops because its safer than meeting strangers on Craigslist and theyre, usually, locally owned. I just wish my selling experience (attempt) was anywhere close to my usual experience there, but I guess experiences vary depending on the flow of the transaction.

Just like most pawns nowadays... they have junk for sale. Offered a very low price for my 14k gold. I understand the need to make a profit but the guy I sold my gold to (will not post name in all fairness) gave me 20% more and actually showed me what he gets from refinery which was another 20% in profit. I respect someone trying to make a profit, I dont respect someone trying to steal a profit. Rude, no hi, how are you, nothing. Just what do you have and heres what youll get. Maybe thats just the lady there as someone else posted about her. Just noticed their website shows $22 per gram for 14k gold based on $1500 price and I was offered $20 per gram for my 14k at a $1725 price. Dont deal with these guys. Also noticed john gave this place a positive review and his competitor a negative review and the website shows... john, being the owner. Quit the preschool games and pay fair prices and you wouldnt have to fake reviews.

First of all I have never pawned anything there so I wont be commenting on that aspect of the business. I have been buying weapons there for about 4 years and have come to find you absolutely cannot beat the prices and layaway plan that they offer. They have made it possible for me to own weapons that I otherwise would never be able to afford. They, all the staff has been very friendly and helpful to me. I do not even go elsewhere any longer Silver Dollar Pawn is by far the best deal in town, they are more than willing to work with you and are very friendly when I come in to make a payment. After making the final payment they make the transfer as painless as possible. Thanks to all the staff. They have a pretty decent shop but they lack knowledge with pawning musical instruments. They have basically a ton of crappy guitars that they cant get rid of so when you bring something in that is actually worth something they low ball because they have too many already. Example, I brought in an American Fender deluxe tube amp and the lady offered me $25. She pointed at the wall of crappy solid state amps they already had and told my "we cant sell guitar amps, have too many already". After trying to explain what I had I gave up and went to another local pawn shop who happily offered me $400 for it.

This place is truly the most awful amd grotesque pawn shop Ive ever done business in. I do nearly 99% of my business in pawn shops. Buying, selling and trade. Ive never once been treated the way I was treated earlier last week. They spoke to me as if I was a junkie drug addict who was selling stolen goods. Keep in mind that everything I was trying to sell to them is worth well over 1k on Craigslist or eBay. These "people" low balled me at just over $300 for everything. I sold it all at another pawn shop for exactly what I was asking. NEVER GO TO SILVER DOLLAR PAWN SHOP!

My brother brought in some gold coins that were 20 grams of gold. They told him they tested 840 on their machine and they were 14k and offered him $550. Hes was a little wary of these jerks because they think everyones stupid and the numbers wouldnt mean anything but he knew better. He left and went to a gold dealer on US 19 in Tarpon who tested the coins at 24k and paid him $1100 or $55 per gram. Thats quite a difference so be careful when dealing with this dealer. I would stay away.

I have been dealing with Silver Dollar Pawn for nearly 20 years. In that time, I have NEVER had a bad experience. Everyone there has been very friendly and professional. From vintage jewelry to firearms, Ive found many bargains there. Those who left negative comments must have come into the shop with an "attitude". While the folks there are friendly, theyre not "push-overs". Act right, and youll be treated right. If you want to be douche, go somewhere else.
