BEWARE OF THIS PLACE!! ….OUR DOG WAS INJURED AT “THE GREEN K9” DUE TO OWNERS NEGLEGENCE……..PLEASE READ BELOW, Our female dog was bit several times by a male un-neutered dog that was allowed by GK9 owners to be in the common play area with all other dogs, including mine this occurred at The Green K9 on Feb 16 2015. The Green K9 has a policy that male dogs must be neutered in order to be allowed to socialize with other dogs at their facility. Any un-neutered dogs at their facility must be kept isolated. The Green K9 was negligent and broke that policy on Feb 16th 2015, when our 7 yr old spayed female dog was there for daycare and one nights boarding. She wasnt there more than 1 hr when she was bit multiple times in the common area by the male dog who was wrongfully allowed to be with the other dogs. The owners tried to cover up their negligence by giving us the name and breed of another dog so we would not find out the dog that bit her should not have been in with her. The owner Paul Lewis finally confessed to his lie when the male dogs owner told us the truth. I do not blame the male dog nor the dogs owner as he was led to believe his dog was isolated. Paul Lewis also downplayed the severity of our dogs injuries and was holding her on a leash at a vet clinic that would not be able to see her for 6 or more hours, she was standing in the hot sun bleeding on the concrete when we arrived. We immediately took her from him and rushed her to our vet where she was treated immediately and in time to stop severe infection. The Green K9 is not equipped nor are they staffed properly or trained to be supervising as many dogs in one area. They have one person and 20+ large dogs. Our dogs attack was prolonged enough for her to be on her back in a submissive position and was bit again and again. Don’t take a chance with your dogs safety, it is very likely to be another incident at the green k9 unfortunately; with the way they run their business its inevitable. I do not feel the other dog’s owner is at fault, but he is paying our vet bills and he was genuinely apologetic and sincerely concerned for out dog. Since they neglected their own policy that clearly states “* For non-neutered males over a year old, we will provide boarding and grooming services, but they are not permitted in the day care group”. By not following their own rules, this subsequently caused my dogs injuries. My dog did not have to get injured yesterday; it was avoidable if only the owners were more responsible. Also I do not feel that the staff is trained properly and that they do not have adequate protocols for serious injuries.

The green k9 was highly recommended to me by SEVERAL members of the community I live in when I inquired about a safe, comfortable place to board my precious fur baby. Theres soooooo many reasons why I love this place, but I will only cover a few. First off, the boarding facilities are very clean and the dogs are NOT kept in kennels! More like doggy suites. They have daycare, which allows Bubbles to go and have playtime with her doggy friends when I have errands to run. CAMERAS!!! I love that Im able to check in on my fur baby while shes there. I sometimes sit and just watch her with the other dogs and staff. She loves it there. The staff is very friendly and reassuring (I was very nervous to leave her as that was the first time she had been away from us). But a very special reason why I love this place is because they saved my Bubbles life. We were bringing Bubbles by for playtime with her doggy friends while I ran a few errands. When we were taking her out of the van, she broke loose from my son and headed straight for traffic. I was screaming for her to come back and truly thought I was going to witness her get hit by a car. The staff ran outside when they noticed what was happening and immediately went to work luring my Bubbles calmly and safely inside. I am in tears writing this portion because I was so shaken up by this and am so very thankful for the staff jumping in and making sure Bubbles was able to see another day. We will be clients of the green k9 and refer them to whomever inquires! As far as Im concerned, they are the best.

My dog received 6 staples while being bordered at the green k9. No one on staff saw him being injured but assured me it wasnt their fault. (Weird since we were told that he would be monitored at all times) After my dog was hurt we were told that it was minor and would need at most a single stitch and that it must have been caused while playing with another dog. My vet on the other hand disagreed with Paul (the owner) saying that it didnt look at all like a dog tooth since a junk of flesh was missing from him. Paul continued to argue with us later telling us that our vet (guy who went to college in the field of animal care) wasnt an expert and that he, paul (guy who babysits, washes, and gives dogs haircuts) knew more about our dogs wound. When we returned from out of town neither paul or his wife even spoke to us. Both were there at the time and both were to busy. Apparently Marney (owner) was busy grooming another dog and wasnt available. Odd that another dogs haircut took precedence over our issue. The sad thing is we would have been understanding if not for their very unrealistic approach to my dogs injury and lack of caring when we showed to pick him up. It seems as long as there are no issues the place is great but if you have a problem its yours to deal with and they will pawn you off to a lower ranking employee even though they are in the building. "I have to much going on in my life to talk to everyone" , paul owner of green k9.
