While shopping for my wedding makeup I realized I was being followed around by one of the ladies who work in Sephora. I guess because Im black she thought I would steal something? In any case, she followed me so obviously that her co-worker had to physically grab her by the shoulders and turn her around to get her to stop. Uncomfortable, to say the least. I left. Ive only been back once since then and the staff is full of older women who dont really WANT to help you and who make assumptions about what you will buy just from looking at you. I HATE even going there. Sephora company policy encourages sampling and demoing. None of which they want to do for you. They roll their eyes and get angry when you ask for ANYTHING. During my last visit I was looking for some good foundation. One woman tried one foundation on me and it was okay but I wanted more natural coverage. When I asked o try another, she became INSTANTLY annoyed and rigid as if Id asked her to give me her right arm. Smh. I wont be back. How else will you know what you want to buy if you dont get help from the staff? Ive been to the Sephora in Southland mall as well. HUGE difference. The ladies are amazing and soooo helpful. Ive made 6 purchases there. Thanks to how amazing they are at helping me.
