Been here several times in the last few months getting ready for an extended bike trip, and every staff member has been knowledgeable (so, so rare in retailing), friendly and super helpful. They pointed out how I could get a refund if the prices lower in 14 days, then helped me actually take advantage of that ,so I saved about $300! But in particular the bike department has been outstanding! I needed to ship two bikes to the west coast to start my trip. One is a standard Novara Randonee, the other a long wheelbase recumbent. Without going into the details, getting the recumbent properly packed and getting things worked out for shipping took days of work, and many phone calls. Patrick was the point man, but Ryan, Koula, Jane, Ken and Jenna all helped get it done, and keep me up to date as things developed. In the end, they found a way to not only make it happen, but they did so at less cost than I expected. I wish they were closer (Im 1 1/2 hours away), but I will happily go there for anything I need that they might carry. Great job Team!

Well i went to the store at 4862 Big Island Drive, Jacksonville, FL 32246. First let me explain ...i dont have any proof of purchase. Item was giving to me by my grand mother about a month ago who bought it at one of your Atlanta locations. To make a long story store short my item and box are in perfect condition. In stove retails for about 50 bucks...i wanted the same item that cost about 70 more dollars. This should be a win for REI and for myself being a coop. Yet Ken would not let me give you more money....did not try to help and was rude. Ive never had trouble like this before.....this is not a scam....i want to pay you more. I would like a district supervisor or someone to contact with a solution and an apology before I take my problem to facebook and Twitter to see how much my time is worth. I Feel like Im being unfairly treated and REI has never made me feel like this. Even the guys that called Ken to the counter said it shouldnt be a problem swap Rich Burns

Just wanted to give a BIG shoutout to Patrick in the Bike shop at REI in Jax. I had a surprise gift of a new bike and showed up and Patrick helped me get it picked out and outfitted for the perfect commuter setup. A couple months later, the bike started to break spokes in the back wheel (manufacturing defect). When I called Patrick he knew exactly what the problem was and was apologetic, kind and said hed fix it up as soon as I brought it in. Fast forward about 2 weeks, the same problem reoccurred. Patrick once again took care of me, saying he would rebuild the ENTIRE back wheel with new spokes and set it up right. Even though he wasnt sure how the details would all be worked out between REI and the bike manufacturer, he went out of his way to get my problem resolved and made sure I was satisfied. Even though no one wants to have to go back and have issues fixed on a new bike, I am more than happy with how Patrick and the fine folks at REI took care of me. Thank you!

Its REI, just like any other REI. Not sure why somebody would expect to return a polo shirt after 10 years and expect it to be OK. I suppose if I was a retail manager, I would have told this character where to go. If you are trying to find good deals, attend REIs garage sale. Otherwise, its just like any other big box store and sells things at retail. Thats why you wait for sales or buy elsewhere. To give a bad review because your an idiot and think that this company owes you something for buying a sub par kayak (should have done your research before spending money on a hobby) and polo shirts that "under perform", get real. The attitude the reviewer before me received was probably deserved. Regardless of my opinion on the previous review, as I stated before, this REI is like any other REI. It is a higher quality outdoor retail store with a good selection of stuff.

Lethargic, apathetic, uneducated on the products and disengaged was the vibe I got from my visit to this store. I drove 6 hours to exchange over $1000 in merchandise and people here were so disengaged with service and assistance in general, I returned all of it. I failed in love with REI in NC. After moving to South Florida I was willing to keep ordering online and willing to drive 6 hours to exchange unwanted items. Bad idea, it never occurred to me that the staff members would be a bunch of posers who care less about the products and much less to assist other members. I hope management reconsiders their employees training or this store will be out of business sooner than a melting iceberg...seems unlikely but is coming! What happened to good all American service??

I love REI. I was so happy when my 4 year old son began to ride one of the bikes with training wheels. I would have purchased it if it was not for the employee who stopped my son by stepping in front of the bicycle. She then told me that the only way he could ride the bike was if we purchased a helmet and went outside.. why would you have the bikes on the floor able to ride? I have been a loyal REI member and customer for years. It is upsetting that one single experience can ruin the customer relationship, but that has happened.

This is probably the worst store at the Town Center. Yes, it has a lot of outdoor gear that is very usable, but the staff isnt very informed, I find them to be mostly rude, their selections of clothing is limited, I could go on. I come here every now and then to try stuff on before ordering, but really try not give them any business. I feel going to Black Creek is far better climate of gear, clothing and attitudes. Dicks and surrounding local stores will have what you need or the internet.

Una botiga ideal per trobar qualsevol equipament de muntanya i acampada. Tot tipus de utensilis. També hi ha una part, encara que petita, dedicada a bicicleta de muntanya. Podeu trobar botes, mitjons, sacs de dormir, etc. Personal molt atent.

I called in around 7 pm after having snapped a chain wrench on a stuck road bike cassette, Ryan in the bike shop said no problem, bring it in.. Before 8 pm, I was leaving the store with everything 100%. Cant say how much I appreciate the help, and same day, just doesnt get much better. This is a great place. Everyone is super helpful, especially Ryan in the bike shop.

I went to this store yesterday and it was amazing. I have been buy Rei products online for a while but this was my first time in a physical store. I could not be more happy. I was helped by Logan and he made sure I got all I needed. The walked with me around the whole store and provided very helpful advise. I am extremely happy with my experience :)

they will never let you down. Experts beyond. I had the pleasure to present Camino de Santiago presentations at this store. Staff was the most accommodating with my needs and the customers who attended. The expertise of the staff in many categories of outdoor recreation is invaluable.
