Ho-hum for a specific. Fairly good for overall. So basically if youre into sporting goods or outdoor gear, equipment, supplies, this is a great place. Dicks is Gym and sports only with VERY LITTLE in the line of outdoors and hunting. Gander is the opposite. Now... that being said.. the ho-hum part. When it comes to firearms and things revolving around that.. youre going to pay MSRP and they are SLOW when it comes to turnaround. Why? Because they have corporate policy that if you dont make the 2 day cut, they have a mandatory 8 day hold. The FED doesnt even require this but they will make you wait over a week if they dont get a positive in 2 days. Even if on day 3 they hear back that youre cleared, or hear nothing, (no flag) they have their own 8 day mandatory hold policy. They charge $40 for FFL transfers. Again, youre going to wait a min of 3 days once your firearm arrives to their location. Their selection is not that great but if you consider it is a chain retail store whos sole purpose is NOT just firearms, then in that context its actually really good considering. I put 3 stars because its not a complete bomb and they will have a lot of what you will need but because of their massive expansion and brick&morter overhead, they need to charge full pop. I "hear" that they match prices but I have yet to witness them doing so for my sake. There is always some form of an out on their part. "This ad is yesterdays" or "Its not advertised" or "They dont have this item in stock" or "This model is slightly different as it is a different color" crap like that... Well then dont offer price matching if your sole drive is to deny my claim. The staff is 50/50. Its retail.. so I get that but youd think the store management would properly vet/train the people who get the privilege of working behind the arms counter. If theyre dense or lazy, put them on the general floor.... thats all I ask.

I have bought a bunch of things there and have witnessed first hand a few irritated customers but did not think much of it until today. My first mistake was taking my bow to a chain store, NEVER AGAIN, it took them 9 days to change the draw length and put a drop away rest on. Well actually they did not have the rest on when I went to complain. They found it in the back where it had been sitting for 5 days. So the 19 year old bow tech put it on and I attempted to get it sighted in on their range. After the third shot the rest shattered on the floor. The girl working say...your lucky that happened here. DO NOT GO THERE FOR ANY ARCHERY WORK!!!!!!!!

I went today about 530 or so. 5/20/2017 the store by me is closing so I thought they should have some good prices on ammo. When I went to the ammo I found a big surprise. Even with the 10 percent discount, they are still more expensive than CABELAS. I can buy 45 acp ammo cheaper anywhere else that is the same brand as there and still have money left over compared to here. Used to like the place but when you get so greedy that you are more expensive than your competitor by almost 10 bucks then I will never go back. It sucks that people are losing their jobs but Im not surprised why.

They Offered to price match on a firearm. Rang the price up and it came out to more money than we agreed on. They didnt even bother to call the other store or see if I was lying about price (which I wasnt). Guy behind the counter told me the other shop was lying to me and that gander couldnt do any better. Walked out and bought the item at the other store for the lower price. Unbelievable for a big box store to treat its customers like that. Ill support smaller local stores from now on. All firearms are way over priced. The convenience is not worth the extra price.

My wife had a great experience as well. That is worth 5 stars right there. She as well as I look for great customer service and thats what we got! All of the sales people that we engaged had excellent knowledge, and where patient and friendly. We ended up purchasing 2 handguns there and several items for fishing. I know, everyone says their gun prices are high and maybe they are but they were affordable for me and my wife. Other places that we went too, seemed to not care that we were there, and seemed to not want to answer questions.

I called to ask if they had a certain crossbow broadhead in Stock and I was on hold for 40 mins. During the 40 mins on hold both my mom and sister called and got helped before me. The second time my sister called and asked to speak to a Manager the manager hung up the phone with me without saying a word and than got back on the phone with my sister and said there was no call on hold. Than hung up on my sister worst experience with customer service I have ever received anywhere.

The firearms/ammo department leaves a lot to be desired from a friendly and helpful aspect. I have gone in twice and both times I was treated rudely and both times I have taken my business elsewhere. This last time I asked if a a particular caliber ammunition was in stock I was told "No" and then the employee began to look up the next shipment of 22LR ammo for a fellow employee. I will not give this location a third try. The rest of the store staff was at least friendly.

Great outdoor shop with everything you need to hunt, fish or camp. Awesome selection of firearms - AND THEY PRICE MATCH! The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and always willing to help. The store is kept very clean and pretty well stocked. Summer of 2013 they got a new store manager (Tom) and he has really made a difference. So if you havent been there in a while stop back and check them out. Heather (Softlines Manager) is pretty awesome too.

Recently I purchased a compound bow for my son. Being his first real bow I wanted one that would be easily adjustable for drw length and pound pull. Well John from archery did an absolutely amazing job from a to z. He went above and beyond, taking his time and explaining every aspect of what he was doing and why it. Thank you Jon for everything you did for my son. We will never forget it.

This place is in a convenient location. Their prices on items are average, but their holiday sales are usually great. I especially appreciate their fishing department, though I miss their live bait section. Plenty of parking and great food options nearby for after you finish swiping your card.

Was going to buy 5 rifle trigger locks that I needed and were on sale. Salesman was only going to give me one key for all five locks. I maybe a Blonde but if Im buying five locks and paying for 5 locks, I except at least 5 keys but would prefer 2 keys per lock.

Supposedly going out of business. The highest discount was 30%. Most things were 10%-20% off. This place is so overpriced to begin with its no wonder theyre closing. We also saw a curious help wanted sign in the entryway, I wonder if they really are closing.
