Ive been in this store on many occasions since they opened the doors. Its always clean, the workers are friendly and helpful and everything is easy to find. Its also well stocked. I spend lots of time in the fishing and hunting sections and I can honestly say that the prices are great, and for only pennies more then wal-mart they have 10x the selection. They blow Dicks out of the water as too. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone in need of any sporting goods. Thx for adding this store to the southside of jax....

Ken rocks! My son wanted a new bat and was on the fence between two. Ken grabbed a bag of practice balls and took us to the golf room so he could practice his swing with both bats. Ken even pitched the balls to him! Our son ended up not selecting the bat he originally thought because he was faster with the other one! If we would not have been able to try he may have spent his hard saved money in a bat just because others had the same one and recommended it but instead got the one that made him a better player! Well done!

5/10/16 I spent my lunch trying on shoes at the Kernan store I found a pair I liked but they happened to be out of and were not able to order them but they informed me the Southside store had them so she called over to the other store and asked them to gold on to them til Saturday/Sunday and they said sure no problem so I drove from the Northside all the way to the Southside store to be informed they didnt have them and no one held them for me dont needless to say I will never go to this store again

This store is awesome. We just moved and it was our first time shopping here. Blown away with all that is carried. Sports, outdoor gaming, camping, hunting, running, fishing, etc., Its really awesome. Pricing is moderate, but not nearly as pricy as Dicks or REI. The sale prices are also significant. Staff has ways been helpful and friendly, makes for a great experience overall.

Academy had become my favorite sports store until today. They had Bubba Blade knives on sale and I was going to get one for my birthday. I was very upset when they told me that all stores were sold out and they did not give rain checks. Since the sales ad did not state "limited Quantities" I do not feel like this is fair and is bad customer service.

Regular Academy shopper and I have never had any issues- this store has a great selection and a helpful staff. When I recently had a misunderstanding about a price that I documented in a survey, the store called me immediately and offered a resolution that was above and beyond what was necessary. Excellent and much appreciated customer service!

Great experience every time we go. A lot of very knowledgeable, cheerful folks throughout the store who want to assist you, not just make a sale. An amazing amount of products at good prices. And, unlike Dicks at Town Center, Academy has human-sized restrooms for their customers. Our favorite sporting goods store in Jacksonville!

This place is awesome. If you are into any type of sports, they have a huge selection of merchandise. They have fishing, hunting, boating, camping, running, clothing and tons of other things for your sporting pleasure. This is one of there smaller stores in the area. Well lit, clean and plenty of parking.

The service at this store is FANTASTIC!! I bought a large bike that didnt quite fit in my trunk. Two employees spent a considerable amount of time problem-solving and eventually were able to fit the bike in my car, saving me the headache of borrowing a truck. A big thanks to them!!

Be careful of poorly marked discounts. Even after the associate told the customer service rep that the signs were confusing and the sales were not correctly marked, they would not give me the discount. I was told I should have checked the skew numbers and not look at the signs.

They just need more quality Golf Disks...Superior Champion and Star Line. Too many cheapies. Makes me look elsewhere. The disks would bring me in....probably to buy other stuff too. But knowing what they have in Disks...I shop elsewhere....

A great retail sports and outdoors store with products from the low to high range on pricing. Their private label Magellan brand of products are very nice and quite affordable. I prefer Academy over all their competitors in town.

The service is AMAZING! There was a new employee in the shoe section and he admitted it and just tried the best he could. Dont go looking for basketball shoes though. They have one tiny aisle of basketball shoes.

Anything imaginable for the sport enthusiast. One of the few sports they dont have much of is for cycling. Great prices and plenty to chose from. I was amazed with the selection of working boots and sneakers.

Place is huge. Has anything you could want. Has all of the top brands like Nike and Under Armor. Prices are great too. Staff is also helpful. Gotta check this place out.

This place is great. Awesome outdoor and sports equipment for great prices, this place is really fun to just browse as well. You will always find low prices!

Usually has great deals...rivaling online prices... good selection as well. Their store brand, BCG, is remarkably good quality and very inexpensive.
