Tried to take a class at this store - - my 10 yr old son wanted to learn about cake decorating - -he was soooooooo excited (Thanks - Cake Boss). After a week of trying to get their website to register us (check-out page "does not exist"), I called the store. Keep in mind I can put both our information in and one of them marked "minor" with the waiver. When I spoke to the "education director" she said he has to be 18 to take the class. No where does the website say ANY OF THAT. And apparently he can learn to sew at any age there - - good idea - give the kids scissors and needles, but dear Lord keep them safe from the SUGAR ICING!!!!! For anyone interested - - Michaels is excited that a young man is so excited to learn something new!!!!!!!!!!

I just moved here from Oklahoma and was so excited to finally have the time to visit, but this was certainly a BIG MISTAKE and a very DISAPPOINTING experience. The store was a disaster, the staff was so rude, and I waited forever to speak to a manager who apparently didnt want me to take their time. I was looking for a job! WOW what a mistake on my part but their loss in a great employee. Dont shop here it is so disorganized and messy it was definitely a disappointment. I am never going back. I will purchase elsewhere. I spent more time picking up stuff on the floors so I could push my cart around that I actually didnt buy a thing but they got an hour of my time for free in straightening up their mess!!!

Even tho there were 5 people in my Serger class, the instructor made U feel like it was "one on one". I could have stayed there all day with her! She was delightful, informative , relaxed & funny! When I made a mistake & she caught it, I thought.....uh ohh..... She said, "everybody.....come look at this." Uh ohhh..... She said, " I want everyone to see a prime example of a common mistake" Uh ohhh....OH? COMMON? OK.......she hade it seem that it WAS a common mistake and explained that this will come up often and here is how to fix it! This was the best instructive class I have ever been to and Im sure Ill be back. Learning how to even THREAD a Serger is hard! Thank you JoAnns.....terrific experience!

Please do not shop at this store during customer rush hours. The fabric department seems to loose patience if a line forms. Instead of assisting the customer, they speak loudly in a condescending tone suggesting for you to come back when you have it all together. I also received this advice from another employee in the same department. If you received this "comeback later" suggestion from their employees, do not go back! Theyre refusing to do their job and their very best to assist the customer. Also they may have a disconnect speaking with young professionals. Try a smaller chain such as Paulas, Hobby Lobby, or Calico Corner or make it a day trip to Simply Sews in St. Augustine.

I wont go back. Over priced, unhelpful staff, and lack of selection. No wonder these stores keep closing. Drove 30 mins to get here and the staff were all unhelpful, rude zombies. The fabric cutting staff did not acknowledge me standing in front of them when there was no line, then helped the woman who came after me. I asked an assistant if they had an item I needed. As he was helping me a woman came up and asked him for help. He then helped her and then came back to help me. I almost left my shopping cart in the aisle and left. Also did not have a few items I came to purchase. Save your money and just buy online from a discount dealer.

Worse store ever! The woman that sits at the sewing machine is lazy and refuses to help. Not only has she done it twice to me on two separate occasions she did it to my daughter whom came from across town. I called the store after these incidents and that was not any better. I was asked to hold held 10 minutes hung up called back and spoke with someone about some sewing class she couldnt answered my questions so asked me to hold again 10 more minutes. I finally gave up and hung up. I will never go to the store again. Worse customer services on 4 separate occasions and then my daughter experience there was no better.

I love the products they offer here, but my love for this store ends there. Long lines for fabric (though three employees were there, only one was actually cutting fabric while the other two chatted), long lines at the cashier (though there were employees around the store, they were not called to assist), and rude cashiers (when I misread a coupon as being available for the next 8 hours, she took my phone out of my hand, turned it toward me and said "its available IN 8 hours"). If you can tolerate this brand of customer service in the name of good selection, then I wish you well. Ill be at the Hobby Lobby.

Unfortunately I am forced to give this place 1 star when I would like to give it ZERO. How does a store with majority women customers have no changing table??? Manager said well theres never been one since Ive worked here. This is unexcusible, if theres never been one than maybe you should make it a priority to put one in. Very unpleasant experience I dropped everything and walked out, i will not be back.

The service at the JoAnn store at the St. Johns Town Center is TERRIBLE. There was only one cashier and I waited in line over 15 minutes to checkout. When several customers including me asked for another cashier to be called the cashier refused and was extremely rude. The employees at this JoAnn are extremely rude and have a complete disrepect for customers. I will never shop at this store again!

Tough return policy - Before buying anything, check to see if it is a clearance item, I bought a pennant and it did not indicate that it was on clearance. I was charged regular price but then I tried to return it I was told it was on clearance item and NO RETURN. Your SOL... Go to Michaels right next door. Will not shop there.

This was the second Sunday morning in a row they were late opening. Last week we got the security officer to check. This week it opened only 10 minutes last...but the lady opening the door was quiet rude. Then the older lady at the cutting table was quiet short with me when I asked her a question. Not my best day there

Every staff was rude there and when we went check out we used a coupon on a phone for one transaction and we then let my child pay with another coupon and then they said u cant used this coupon because u already used another coupon but it was for another transaction and it took us 10 minutes just to get a cashier

The store has everything you want in a fabric and craft store. However, the staff in this store is unfriendly, unhelpful, and uninviting. I patronize this store because its the closest to me which is unfortunate to pour your money into a place that treat its customers with little care.
