Ive shopped at Walmart for years, so I know what to EXPECT. Recently, I visited this Walmart. My girl & I always go together to shop, and thus, use the same cart(this will be useful later). First impression, well, there were so many "left" carts in the parking area, that it was difficult finding a parking place(another huge pet peeve of mine...return the cart you lazy people!). Once parking was found, we passed a "person" sitting on a front bench, drinking a six pack of beer, "Wow, I didnt know the Walmart public bench was for drinking? Awesome"! So, we do our usual shopping, and head to the self check out, cause it goes much faster than the 2 regular lines they have open. But NO! We are stopped, and told we have to many items! "What, when did this start?" Apparently, on ONE of the overhead signs, it says, "20 items or less" in very small writing, like they just added that, I guess. So, I do a quick count...26 items, but that is between the two of us, and we always pay separately. "So, Ill take this register, and shell take that one". It was not busy at all, there were only 2 other people in self check out. The employee simply states, "No, you have too many items". I leave to get another cart, to put MY items in, so that we comply with this silly rule. We now have way less than 20 items dispersed between MY cart, and my girls cart. Once again, shutdown.."Sir, you have too many items". My reply, "I do not, she does not, we pay for our items separately, and we each have less than 20 items in our respective carts". She then threatens to call security on me! "Really?" A drunk can hang out up front and drink his beer, and thats OK, but because of this situation, youre going to call security on me...really? I went to the regular check out lines, before SECURITY was called on me(...honestly, I would have went thru w/her little plan of calling security, AND THE MANAGER AS WELL, had I been alone. but I didnt want my girl to suffer anymore embarrassment). So I waited 10 minutes, in a regular line to be checked out, with my 9 items. Ill never go back to this Walmart! I usually have a good experience at Walmart, but this particular one is just to "ghetto", and "unfriendly" for my tastes. Great place to hang out & drink your favorite alcoholic beverage tho, from what Im gathering...

The store is generally clean and well-stocked. Its one of 3 Walmarts within 6 miles of our house, so we go there a few times a month. Their lines are generally long, but the self-check outs help... sometimes. Last Thursday, it was busy there there. So, I got in the self-checkout lines. Of their 7 stations, only 2 were accepting cash. I waited for one of those stations and had the unpleasant experience of having that machine run out of money. The associates were very apologetic and called a CSM right away to get my change... so my toddler and I waited... and waited... and the associates kept apologizing and trying to call a CSM... and after 22-23 mins, they found the $25 change I was owed from another cash drawer and gave it to me. I know they broke protocol to do it, and I did appreciate it. As I was leaving the store, I saw the CSM sauntering (no exaggeration) towards the self-checkout corral. No rush, no fire, and it had already been almost 25 mins by then. So, yes, I called Walmart Corporate (not something Im prone to do). After waiting (yes, you guessed it) 20+ mins I got a very apologetic person who said they would notify the store manager to prevent this from happening again. Would the store manager call me? She didnt say no, but she didnt say yes. And, yep, no call back. I know Walmart is not known for its customer service, but at some point its probably smart to check the cash levels in the self-checkout machines when its busy. Its probably wise to recognize a customer has been standing around waiting for their money for over 20 mins. The folks at the Walmart Neighborhood Market near me always make us feel like were important. I wish this store did the same.

They have it all. I I was just ask buy Google Maps if this Walmart is easy to get in and out of as far as your shopping experience the store is very big and has everything its easy to find things and as far as that goes yes you can get in and out fast the problem is no matter what time of day or night they dont have enough registers open. I made a suggestion because after midnight they close the self-checkout lines down which has a dozen different check out machines why dont they put someone in there and operate those after midnight that way people could get in and out quickly their reply was that if people need help we dont have enough people to help them. Well it seems to me if you close down to registers and open up 12 self-serving registers then you have enough people to get them out quickly. I dont know thats just a suggestion of mine I love that Walmart its close by and it has all my needs but it 4 oclock in the morning I dont feel like standing in line for a half an hour. I guess it depends on what time of the week you go as well I went on the 18th August 19th at 3 a.m. and there was only one teller open and I was the only one in line. I guess its a roll of the dice LOL.

Its Walmart...dont expect much. They have a large selection of items and the prices are good. But if you require service from a person at all, you are not likely to get anything good. I had a Site-To-Store pickup last week which unfortunately requires me to wait in line with layaway customers. I waited for 15 minutes while someone in front of me demanded a discount, the manager wouldnt come, and the employee whet ahead and checked out her groceries too regardless of the mile long line. This is where I have to mention Walmart attracts the least desirable people in the country. Its why Walmart in general drains the resources of local law enforcement instead of getting their own security. After 15 mins some "lady" tries to cut in front of me saying she was there the entire time, which she was not. The only reason the cops were not called at that moment is because I was the better person because she clearly wasnt going to be. Fortunately Karma stepped in when the lady had to step aside for that manager that wasnt going to show up. If you want a good big box store experience, go to Target.

Definitely enjoyed my experience at this Wal-Mart so much that I had to post it. Brian or Bryan (not sure on how to spell his name), helped me early in the morning when everyone was either switching shifts or cleaning up before management entered the store. I believe we walked around the store multiple times trying to find one particular item that I wanted. He went over and beyond to the point, I requested we throw in the towel since I felt I was taking too much of his time. But he pushed on and I admired that. I never knew one item could be in so many places. So when you have a chance, when it is early in the morning, and when you need to find something you dont see at Wal-Mart in Gibsonton, FL ask for Brian or Bryan in the Frozen Section. He is a great guy and loves his job. Always bring your A game, right Brian or Bryan... (Thats if he is looking at the reviews). Thank you for the experience.
