I purchased a one year couples (two members) membership and honestly this location is not inviting nor polite, especially today on 04/22/17. Today was a wine tasting event, which no email was sent to my email or fiances, nor did the staff today offer wine samples or atleast even make her or her friend slightly feel welcomed today. Also, we were there last week and why werent we told or advised of the upcoming wine tasting event? When it comes to wine sampling, if its a slow month or week, dont expect them to open a bottle to sample, as they will tell you, "per owner, we cant." They dont tell you that at membership sign up, which isnt fair or acceptable. Also, to learn that my membership is up in April 2017 (not per card) and they tell my fiance, "its expired this month and thats why you received two bottles," very arrogantly (see photograph). I am completely honest and this message is not vindictive or false, as I am stating true facts for new members or future members. I also dont understand why this business can tell that your membership expires this month, which it didnt and not even offer or suggest you the option to renew it? Please see their selection, as I have learned they are approximately $9-$11 over retail cost. I am extremely disappointed, as the location is great, but the service is a no go. Again only speaking of the truth and of our very recent experiences here. So yes, I am shorted two (2) bottles of wine in the 12 month period....I can assure you, I will not recommend this location. Didnt receive a one rating star, since we were treated nice for the first two visits. Thanks for reading.

Great place and great owners. Not only have a been a patron there but Ive also had the pleasure of preforming there. I really take an issue with Claudes review. Sterling Wine has no bouncer and the the band preforming has stated he was not with them. Claude Morrow before you started making assumptions or accusations did you go in to Sterling Wine and find out if the “Aggressive loud drunk big black guy” worked there or was with the band? Your review should not be of Sterling Wine it should be of the to quote you the "Aggressive loud drunk big black guy" that you had an issue with. Your correlation to him and Sterling is equivalent to me saying I knew a whiney immature pants wetting jerk named Claude 20 yrs ago and it must be you because you have the same name. Shame on you for bashing, accusing, and assuming without knowing the fact or even trying to find them out!

So this place was a four, almost five as of late, but with recent time Ive shown up, it was a three. So this is a wine bar, and to me that is a place to go relax and enjoy some good wine. They also had an awesome sub-shop in there with them dealing with cheeses, meats, and fruit pairings with the wines, which was absolutely excellent. Sadly, they are no longer there, if anything, they were one of the main reason I would return. The other issue is that it was extremely loud in there last time, drunk people drinking Budweiser as if the place was a bar. Not to sound like a snob a bit here, but its a wine bar, I dont see any issue with craft beers, but if youre looking for Bud, Bud Light or to just get drunk, Id think somewhere else is appropriate. Staff didnt seem to do anything about absolutely hammered guy that was hitting on all the woman that came near him.

Great service, gracious and happy hosts, live music, fine wine and delicious cheeses. Whats not to like? Also, as an aside, I cannot imagine what Mr. Claude Morrow is referring to below as my band played on 11-14-15 and we do not have a bouncer nor any man fitting this description in or affiliated with our band. Also, I posted a picture above to show that people were actually encouraged to stop and listen and our crowd was about 10-15 people deep in the street. A fun time was had by all. Maybe Mr. Morrow was at a different place entirely? He certainly could not have been at Stirling Saturday night because that was one happy crowd.

They have gone downhill, they even had a black bouncer harassing people on the street last Saturday 11/14/15 telling people they cant stop and listen to the crap band they had. service was rude along with the bouncer guy. Very aggressive staff. I think maybe the black guy was with the band as well because he sat in front of everyone.

Very nice host, cute environment, but charged $50 for what I later learned should have been a $10 bottle of wine. Apparently should have googled before we ordered, but we were treating ourselves, liked the tasting offered, and trusted her enough to assume it was a fair price. Live and learn, but wont go back.

We had a great experience @ Sterling. The wine was well curated, the staff is friendly, this is the Dunedin experiance. Our town is amazing and Sterling is a great example of the lifestyle that Dunedin affords. Sit, have some vin, listen music and enjoy downtown. You cant go wrong at Sterling!

They let you try every single wine youre interested in! The pineapple and orange blossom wines are my favorites! And they have everything from sweet fruit wines to dry fruit wines. And only 1 grape wine in the whole place!

Great place for your average wine lover. Pricing isnt horrible. Sometimes the outdoor seating area is a little crowded but thats because its a good place to be on a Saturday evening.

Nice atmosphere with good live music and friendly staff. Like the outdoor patio with good viewing for the band. Good beer selection (bottles only) and of course good wine list.

Kind of a drab feeling unfortunately. We went in to buy a bottle and take home. Pretty sure we were charged incorrectly for a $25 bottle of screw top Malbec.
