Worst shopping experience Ive had. I went there to purchase a fish for a Christmas gift, however what I got was a lot of attitude and very rude staff. I stood there for 25 minutes waiting to be helped, I also asked for help twice in that period of time yet nobody came over. Finally once I got someone to come help me, who by the way was the same girl I asked for help twice already, she told me inaccurate information about fish saying none can ever live together and that the only fish I would be able to own is a beta, which I know she only said because it was near closing and she didnt want to mess with it. So after I waited that long to get a fish I ended up choosing a beta because nobody would give me any helpful information. And as Im choosing the beta another male employee decides it is appropriate to tell me I need to make my decision fast because he is closing the store!? Im sorry that I stood there for 30 minutes waiting on YOU! I understand the store had 3 customers in it if you would like to call that busy, however the rudeness and lack of interest in their job will NEVER make me want to shop in this store again. Also a friend went in yesterday and asked for help, and was told by a female employee that she couldnt help her and would have to wait until the male employee was done talking to his customers. So being a patient customer she waited for 30 MINUTES! For him to then look in the back and say oh sorry we dont have it come back another day!

I go here mostly for my aquatic purchases (fish/supplies) but do from time to time get food/litter for the dogs/cats. Some of the staff seem a little bewildered if you catch them out of the area they are used to but you cant really fault them for that. The only real qualm I have is that Christian is the only one there that is superb with the fish. I dont normally trust buying expensive fish from big chain pet stores but he does a really good job taking care of those guys there, I just dont want to see him leave the place. The woman complaining about him probably wanted to get 20 goldfish in a 10 gallon tank or something stupid and he didnt want to do it. If youre interested in properly keeping fish as pets hes the one to talk to.

I really liked petco at first when i bought my guinea pig in june of 2016, my guinea pig recently got something wrong with his ear i called petco in middketown askedif there vet seen guinea pigs they said yes and the exam would be free so i took him to petco in middletown de walked in just to be told by the vet they only see dogs and cats.... So i refuse to spend any more of my money at petco and will not recommend it to friends and family.....how are you going to sell these aninals but the vet that comes to your store wont see the animals that you sell except for dogs and cats...... I found another place that supplies my guinea pigs needs.

The store always seems to be under staffed. The manager I spoke to seems like he could careless about customers and there animals, very condescending, disorganized and unprofessional. My dog will not be returning to this location. I must say Kenny, was my dogs groomer twice at this location he is excellent. The rest of the store needs improvement. I would not recommend this store! Take the drive to Christiana Petco, its worth the ride.

We love this PetCo. Amazing staff and good prices. They also rotate the food on the shelves quite often so you know the food you are buying is fresh. Nate (one of the staff) was tremendous. He helped us get all the things we need for our new puppy. We will certainly be visiting them again.

This Petco is horrible.... none of the employees seem like they care. Christian was no help to me at all. And the store manager was so rude to me on the phone. The only person that was helpful was the cashier Kate. Wont be returning.

Went in to pick up an African dwarf frog and saw there were over 6 dead animals in the tank. After looking at other tanks, I noticed dead fish in nearly every tank. Do not get any animals from this petco, specifically aquaria!

This is a nice store but it does not seem to be as big as some of the other locations. Their amatory is only OK. They dont always have a good selection of dog food on hand because they have less space in my opinion.

I have been in the Middletown Petco several times and everyone there is very friendly and VERY HELPFUL in helping to find what I need. I am glad they came to Middletown location very convenient.

They have a varity of animals to adopt. (Other than cats....usually they do but this store doesnt) Other wise the staff is so kind and for the most part the animals are very taken care of.

Have gone 7 times in 4 weeks for feeder fish, the employees keep telling me they will be in Friday then I have gone on fridays and they tell me they ran out.
