In a nutshell, the staff here is NOT to be trusted. Make sure EVERYTHING is spelled out in writing. I drove 90 minutes one way to look at an Acura. Ran into traffic and arrived a little after closing time on a Sunday. I appreciated that they were willing to leave the doors open. I really liked car. Did not need to test drive before negotiating a deal by phone the next day, as that would obviously occur when I picked up the car. I emailed Salesman Jay Green that evening that I wanted to go ahead with transaction. I followed up with a call the next evening, though when I got home from work and could call them, by then it was a half hour before closing. I asked salesman Jay Green they might be willing to do considering they use NADA pricing, and Edmunds, which is considered a better gauge of value, was lower. In fact I left Edmunds retail appraisal on front seat. jay said hed get back to me before closing; I didnt hear from anyone, and called back on Wed., after leaving multiple messages. I finally heard back from an apologetic Jay on Thursday. He said hed been busy with end-of-the month traffic. Having a sales background myself, I was empathetic. I didnt want to hassle him with demands to move faster, because really, a few days one way or the other mattered little to me. I could only travel there on weekends anyway. Jay assured me he would get back to me with out the door price." I did not get call, but only an email from him on Friday. He said he received my most recent call, and called me back, but call went to answering machine...So why did he not leave a message and only hours later did I see his email. Price had was much higher, possibly taxes built in, but being from out-of-state, he originally told me I would pay taxes myself. So was price inflated? I emailed back for clarification, only to be emailed back the next day that yes, he had made an error on including taxes in the price. However, now the other salesperson had just accepted a deposit from another customer. After all my persistent follow up and tenacity, Jay and co.’s lackadaisical approach to my transaction caused me to waste a great deal of time and energy in this very do-able long distance transaction. All he could say is, he was sorry for the screw up. But sometimes sorry is not good enough. In the end, Jay said I should have asked for deposit to go on car as opposed to waiting for him to ask. Since no one got back to me in timely manner, I never had the chance to think of doing so! Really, purchasing car is something I do very occasionally. Perhaps if the so-called professionals at Green Light had returned phone calls in a timely manner, my time and effort would not have been for naught. If this dealer was truly sorry they wasted my time, they at least have offered to pay for my costs of travel. (Tolls alone are close to $25.00), They coull offered to do an all out search and find me a similar car in the coming weeks, then offer it to me at a price better than their normal margins. Essentially acknowledging their mistakes with concrete action. Mistakes happen. Its how they are dealt with that separate the pros from the hacks. Dont let their personable and pleasant facade fool you. You have been warned: Unless you simply must have a given car on their lot, youd do better do find a more reputable dealer...One with average ratings above 4 on Google reviews. p.s. I have inkling that many of those "5 star" reviews are planted. The way they are written--they seem very fishy!

This is the first and last time I will ever buy a car from a shady dealer like Green Light. I recently bought my son a Mazda Speed 3 who was going to drive the car to college in Arizona. There were numerous issues with the car (minor) that we asked to be fixed. None of them major issues. Green Light is one hour away from where I live. I actually went there, round trip, five times in one week. It was exhausting. We had to fight for everything to be fixed the correct way and not half assed. I actually had to bring my husband up there so they wouldnt keep giving me the run around. One of the items that needed to be fixed was the housing for the passenger door handle inside the car. They didnt fix it. Not only didnt they fix it but it didnt automatically lock. In addition to that, they didnt have the original keys. When we brought it home my son said he couldnt lock the doors, because the key they gave us could only be used to start the car. Thank God he noticed it before he locked the car. I called them and TJ promised me they would order a key FOB and its been three weeks and I still havent received it. I keep calling them but they avoid my phone calls, even though I asked them to write me an IOU. Then the splash guard underneath the engine was hanging and looked beat up. We asked them to fix it by tying it up or however else they would fix it. When I picked up the car it was still hanging and they said they fixed it the best they could. I told them it looked the same way it did originally. Then after arguing with them they put a new splash guard on the car. And it only gets better. We asked them to put new brake pads on the back brakes, which they did. My son drove three days to Arizona and when he got there the back passenger wheel was making a horrible loud noise. My son took it to a mechanic in Arizona who told him that whoever put the brakes on didnt put them on properly. Apparently they didnt put the rattle pins on that come with the brakes and everything started to move around causing the loud noise. My son had to have new brake pads put on both back wheels and had to pay over $150. So whoever their mechanic is, clearly didnt know what he was doing, which put my sons life at risk. And finally, they promised me they would order me floor mats for the car because it didnt have any, these were also put on the IOU and again when I called and spoke to TJ about the FOB and mats, I was told he would get back to me and he never did, as well as having my husband call and he was thrown into voicemail. In conclusion I would recommend you stay away from Green Light and go to someone reputable as Green Light makes promises and doesnt keep them as well as doing less than mediocre work on their cars. STAY AWAY!!!!

DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THIS DEALER! No matter what they claim, they do not care about customers and are willing to sell you junk you are stuck with. Check BBB, Yelp, and elsewhere and you will find MANY NEGATIVE REVIEWS and seriously bad experiences with cars purchased from them. They will undoubtedly respond to my review here. Do not believe a word they say. Their standard response to reviews here is they are open to having car inspected by your own mechanic prior to purchase. What if you’re not able to do that and trust they are selling you quality car the salesman has told you? I made this mistake. At the end of the day how they have finally responded to serious complaints about cars purchased from them shows what kind of dealer they are. They are not a reputable dealer you can trust. Here is what happened to me and how they have responded. I bought 2007 Subaru Legacy from them on May 30. Before I purchased, the salesman told me they did all the work necessary on the car so could expect to get 100K miles with it. I purchased the car and drove home 200 miles to Mass. Over 4 months that I’ve had this car, it has broken down 4 times with serious problems. The car has spent most of the time either parked not drivable or at dealer being fixed. The dealer has attempted to fix the problems but it took me quite a bit of effort to convince them to do that. Many times they either did not respond to my contacts or took forever to get problem resolved. With the last problem, the car was diagnosed needing engine rebuild. The dealer claimed their mechanics rebuilt the engine and repaired everything needed so I should have no further problems with the car. However, shortly after I took the car back I started noticing the car was leaking oil. A local Subaru dealer has diagnosed this problem where they would need to rebuild the engine again to repair properly at cost of $6000. I’ve contacted the dealer about this new problem but they are not responding to me. This dealer claims to have top notch mechanics working on their cars. Do not trust them on this! How can that be true when I’ve had all these problems with this car? A good mechanic makes sure car being sold will last a reasonable amount of time without problems. The car is junk at this point and I’m not able to drive it. Don’t waste your time with this dealer. Stay away!
