I just want to start out by saying I have many tattoos and I know how the process works. I would also like to think I have a very laid back personality when it comes to the artist doing what they think is best and letting them use their artistic ability to design tattoos. I have been going to nautilus for over two years now. I started going for a certain artist and worked with him many times until he was let go. Dont know and dont care why. What i DID care about was that he was in the middle of this large piece I was working on. When I asked the shop what to do, they set me up with Jake. Jake did an okay job fixing up the majority of what was left since my original artist left my half done and half way through changing/fixing things up. I had to do several appointments, which he rescheduled several of them last minute. this didnt necessarily bother me at the time because my original artist was kind of a wack job (he did good work which is why I stuck it out). Jake told me he would charge 100 an hour if it was CASH ONLY. If I paid with card, he would charge me 120 an hour. I didnt think this was entirely fair but I am a bartender so i get it I guess although it comes off as kind of rude. I spend well over 2 grand for the total of this tattoo. The majority of this was working with Jake. The last few appointments I had with him I got this weird feeling that he just didnt care about what he was doing with me at all. The last appointment I had with him he finished up in less than an hour... which I was led to believe that we had a two hour time block set up. Then he goes "Okay its done." And I was like uh....no? And he basically rushed me out the door. I didnt think it was finished and I am still not entirely happy with it. I asked him if I can call in a few weeks for a touch up and he said that a touchup will be possible if needed but to let it heal and to use coco butter blah blah. So I figured okay Ill let it heal and ask for a small touch up because it is ALMOST finished. there are just a couple things I would appreciate to be done especially since I spent well over 1000 with Jake for this ONE tattoo. I wait three weeks after my last appointment where I was told "that was it", to email and say hey can I get a touch up. Nothing. no answer. So I email again a few weeks later explaining the few pieces that are missing and I get a response saying that it will NOT be a touch-up and that Jake will be charging me 150 an hour! Um IM SORRY... 50 dollar an hour raise for a tattoo I already spent two grand on?? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? DID I DO SOMETHING TO OFFEND YOU JAKE?? Why didnt anyone ask me to come in and show you what was messed up? There was literally ZERO option to have a touch up. Its not the part that was done by james, it was the part that JAKE did himself. When I am allowed to have a touch up, which im sure is in the shop policy somewhere, Why would you take that back and raise me 50 bucks an hour when I have spent so much stupid money on you. Maybe if you actually did your job the first time and just fixed the tattoo then I wouldnt be writing this. All I wanted was a stupid touch up. I feel totally screwed. If you didnt want to finish the job then you should have taken on something that someone else already started. I would like to think that 30 percent tips is more than enough to at least get a little respect from a human being for their artwork. I feel totally screwed. You walk in, meet with an artist and discuss your idea right there in front of who evers in the waiting room. No big deal but I didnt like that. For my first meeting I, by chance, decided to call to make sure it was still on. My artist was sick and not feeling good. He didnt call because they had lost my number. I schedule another time to come in and look at the sketch. I call before hand, based off what happened last time. This time the artist had forgotten to bring in the sketch. The next time I called and asked if It would be ok to come in on monday, i did. The artist is busy and hands my sketch over to the guy at the desk to go over what I liked and didnt like about the tattoo. Just for the first sketch you put down a 50$ deposite and I feel for 3 weeks the sketch was very primitive. And for 50$ you wont get back no matter what, I was not satisfied.

May 2016. I saw James for my first tattoo after he did a great job with my friend a few months ago. It was an overall great experience. Everything was very clean and everyone was very friendly. He did an amazing job. Thank you James! Nov 2015. I went with my friend who was getting tattooed. From the moment we walked in everyone was friendly, welcoming and professional. It is a very clean space. James did her tattoo and he was great!! My friend was very nervous because it was her first tattoo but James was very patient and understanding. Highly recommend this place and James too!

Spent around 75 hours total in the chair here, 5 on a small piece and 70 on a huge chest/torso piece. Wound up doing 6 full day sessions so I got to spend a number of full days in the shop. A spectacular studio overall, skilled artists, and a clean friendly atmosphere. I have nothing negative to say about this place. If you want a unique, beautiful, and lasting piece of artwork then this is your spot. However, if you want someone to Xerox a design you printed offline onto your body as is, then you should probably look elsewhere.

I love this shop. They have done the past 3 tattoos that I have gotten and Ive never once run into any issues with any of the people that work there or that get work done there. They are very professional and very laid back at the same time. You get quality service and they artists are very skilled at what they are doing. My most recent tattoo was done by Greg, and hes a great guy. The tattoo came out great and he was awesome to talk to. Overall a great shop, very clean, very professional, would definitely recommend.

I went there for my second tattoo, and I was thoroughly impressed. Originally I was afraid of going over my budget, but the artist Greg Merola did a brilliant job and worked with my price range, I couldnt have gone to a better place. Absolutely no regrets here. These people are passionate about tattoos and you can sense it while your there. Very happy how my tatoo turned out, will be back to see Greg for tatoo # 3!
