Unfortunately, it appears that this location of Home Depot has fallen on Hard Times. Everyone used to love them especially in comparison to their big competitor, Lowes, across the street. Their employees were helpful and they actually head jobs that were relevant to the department they were assigned to. If you ask for something was they walk you to it even to the other end of the store. They were infinitely and I mean infinitely more knowledgeable about the products they sell. Wants to wish they were clearly Superior to Lowes, but you must have realized they were paying too much or treating their employees too well because I can say that their quality of service has fallen considerably. Not quite as bad as those yet, but theyre getting there and theyre getting their rapidly. I kind of thought that this might just be happening to Home Depot everywhere but then I recently had the opportunity to go into the Glastonbury store. The store was infinitely Superior to the Manchester store. The merchandise was neatly placed on the racks and some type of reasonable order and their selection what is at least three times the selection you get in a Manchester store. Once comma when I was looking for a particular item employee saw me right away and came up to me to ask if I needed any help. I dont know why theres such a big difference between Manchester and Glastonbury. Probably because the Rich Glastonbury people wont let them get away with anything but top-flight service. I dont really now why everything changed in such a short time but its amazing to me that the regional HD executives havent noticed. Or more likely, they have noticed but they think that we consumers are too dumb to notice little things like that. We arent. Sincerely, a (formerly loyal) HD customer. It takes years to build up a reputation but just a couple of months to ruin it.

Nothing but problems with this Home Depot. Did a huge kitchen remodel (new cabinets, counter tops, floor, etc.) and have had nothing but issues every step of the way. From the people they contracted out to do work to their own measurers, nothing seems to have gone right. Started with them sending out a contractor to measure for cabinets who was rude, then received cabinets that had cracks and needed to be replaced (custom cabinets mind you), countertops that were not cut correctly... the list goes on. Now I have been told that my kitchen floor cant be installed because the sub floor needs to be replaced. I am now being required to pay even more money for this. If we had known that the sub floor needed to be replaced, we would have done this ourselves in prep for the floor to go down. But now, because of home depots screw up, Im being made to pay more. I would NEVER recommend home depot to anyone that needs work done on their house....

I have spent 6 figures in this store since it opened with my home and rental property renovations. It got to the point this summer when I hated the store. Lumber not stocked and no one around to operate a fork truck. Dirty, dusty stock in the lighting department. Unhelpful employees waving you off in the general direction of inventory only to find they had no idea where the stock was. After waiting a half hour to have some material cut and then going up front to have someone paged the employee walked away from me and told me to wait for someone else to do the job when he approached with another customer in tow with a big job to cut. Went to Sanford & Hawley to buy acceptable lumber for more money but far less time picking through racks of junk where the mill tried to cut 2x6 lumber out of a log big enough for a 2x4. Went to Lowes more than once to buy items not on the shelf. This used to be a far better store.

Customer service is very problematic: The entire crew needs training in professionalism. Dont try to call this company unless you have a lot of time to blow and have a penchant for listening to crappy canned music and annoying automated voices. I was on hold for 15 minutes until I finally reached a human who did not apologize to me for the long wait and then was extremely rude; this experience continues a very unpleasant visit to the store two days ago during which I received no help in two departments, despite the many orange-coated employees milling about. Let me comment that this suggests poor management. When I finally did speak to a manager, I was told I should try to understand that the rude youngster who yelled at me on the phone was probably having a bad day. Come on. We live in a world where no one is responsible any more for their behaviors. Go to Lowes across the street.

Home Depot gets hacked big time. They send me an email to tell me that I am involved. You cannot respond to the email, and the number to call is stupid> 1800-HOMEDEPOT is a NINE digit number, which we all know, cannot work. I called the store directly, and the "customer service" lady, offered no assistance and could or would not, transfer me to anyone that could. I am getting FAKE CHASE emails saying if I do not verify my information, my account will be closed. All I could do, is forward that to CHASE farud unit. There are some mispelled words, so I know they are phishing. I still keep getting the same email, every day. PAY IN CASH.....these HUGE CORPORATIONS, should have to pay and do whatever it takes to fix this. It should not fall onto the customers/victims of their lousy "systems analyst" they are paying. Who is watching out for US?

This store is a joke. They use to have competent people on the floor. No one knows where anything is, no one knows if they sell what your looking for. I saw online they sold microwave carts, thought I would try the store. I asked someone if they sold microwave carts, he said microwave carts? I said yes, he sent me down an aisle, there were no microwave carts, I found him again, I said they were not there, sent me to another aisle, not there. Found him again he said carts to carry a microwave Yes they are, he said the big cart is there, I said are you kidding me?! I was asking where the microwave carts are for the house, oh we dont sell those. Are you kidding me?! Forget getting someone on the phone to help you. Their hiring standards have gone down the drain!

I told them I needed wire for LED lights on my car. The idiots sell me low voltage telephone wire instead telling me it is ok for my car. My car almost burns down as the wire catches fire. The store manager said he or someone else would call me back the next day after I complained to him, and of course they never called back; I gave them all week to call me and called them after 7 days. The manager was yelling at me when I complained and stated I should have called him back!!! Why? You said you will do something, make sure it is done and dont expect the customer to do it! They did not call me back because they hoped I would forget what happened... so now I am going to their district manager because the store manager is incapable of doing anything!
