We were looking for a good, used counter depth refrigerator. Looked on Craigslist and found this place. They are a subsidiary of Appliance Factory / Mattress Kingdom so we thought they would be reputable. And the journey began: August 5, 2015: We purchased a used counter-depth stainless refrigerator. Looked good in the store. Paid $698.58. It was a deal! New ones at Lowes are over $1,000. Came with a one year warranty. If there were any issues, it would be replaced, no questions asked. (First clue!) August 11th: Refrigerator delivered. Discovered that evening that the ventilation fan for the compressor was not running. Compressor was hot, side of fridge was hot, inside not cooling well. August 14th: Nothing changed. Fridge needs fixed. Go into store, gave report and told no problem. We would be contacted that evening or next day at latest for replacement. I tell them I am leaving town for two weeks on Monday and I dont want my wife having to deal with delivery people. They say no problem. Replacement by Saturday. (Yup!) August 28th: Return to town. They have not called, have not delivered different fridge, nothing. I went by the store and the guy gets a bit hostile. Tells me that the reason they have not contacted me is because they cannot find a refrigerator "like" the one they sold me. They have another one, but it will cost me $1,000 more. Replacement works only if they have one like they sold us. He told us that ours was a "unicorn", an oddity that was hard to replace. When pressed, he offered me my money back and they would pick up the unit on the 31st. Once the unit was picked up, they would "immediately" refund our credit card. We agreed. I told him I was leaving town again on Sept. 1 and didnt want my wife to have to deal with delivery people. It needed to be picked up on the 31st. No problem he tells me. (Right!) August 28th: Went to Lowes and bought a $1,000 refrigerator. August 29th: (Saturday) Lowes delivered new refrigerator and moved old one to garage. August 31st: No one picks up refrigerator, no one calls, nothing. I go out of town. September 11th: Return to town and Fridge is still in my garage. Called their "Presidential" hotline and left a message. (They never responded!) Finally get someone on the phone at the store who tells me that they have new management (imagine that!) and that the fridge will be picked up on 14th and our credit card would be reimbursed "immediately". September 12th: Driver calls and tells me he is planning to be sick on the 14th, that he will come on the 15th. (By this time, I was also feeling ill.) September 15th: Refrigerator is picked up! Wooho! But . . . they dont refund my credit card. (Surprise!) Immediately is obviously not immediately. I gave them a week. September 21: I call about my refund and they tell me that they had deleted our information for "security" purposes and needed our credit card info again. (Of course, they could have called for that information, but...) They then told us it would take five days because they had to "mail" a check to our credit card company. September 28th: Another week and no refund. Eight weeks from purchase date and I must now assume that the money is gone. Will file a claim with our credit card. Write review for Google. Sent another note to presidents hotline. After writing review on Google, received call from management. Very apologetic, very interested in resolution. Promised to look into situation. September 29th: Refund posted to our account. It is amazing how upper management, once aware of circumstances, can get things resolved. My guess is that this situation is an oddity, and not typical of this companies service or reputation.

Bought a refrigerator there for $450. Had it delivered, the delivery guys were great. Within a day we noticed water puddling underneath. I pulled it out and the connection from the water line to the fridge was not leaking - it was leaking somewhere inside the unit. We went in, reported the problem and selected a different fridge for an extra $350 dollars. We had to wait four days for the newer unit to arrive and I turned the water off to the older unit - but not before the hardwood floors started to buckle. Newer fridge arrived, delivery guys were great. But when all the water gushed out from inside the units as it moved it went into the carpet and we had to shampoo the carpet - the delivery guys couldnt help the water and grime from running out of the unit as they carried it out. In less than one day we noticed water puddling inside the unit. This one also had an internal leak even though it was less than two years old. I called Affordable Used Appliances and they said they would have their manager call me back. No call back. The next day the cooling unit on the refrigerator went out and the inside temperature went up to 70 degrees. All the meat inside spoiled including an $80 prime rib roast. Today I will call them again and the saga will continue. Im now into this for about $1,000 including delivery, lost food, carpet and possibly the hardwood floor (it may dry out and settle down). For this much I could have bought a brand new fridge from Home Despot with a lot less hassle.

I have purchased approximately 14 appliances with Tarek, and have been very impressed with the selection, pricing, delivery, installation, service, and warranty. As most of my appliances were used, I purchased the 1 year warranty. This was key, because with so many different appliances I expected a problem or two here and there. The staff was excellent in resolving these issues as soon as possible. I definitely recommend this place! My only constructive feedback for management is regarding the details of the replacement policy, and that I wish there was a mobile technician on staff. The (very reasonable) optional used appliance service policy is that a similar replacement appliance will be delivered (and installed for you if you purchased installation service originally). The malfunctioning appliance is removed at the same time. This works great for any common appliance. Where the technician would be useful is for "unicorn" appliances that may not have a quick replacement in stock at the warehouse. It would also be handy for a simple fix like an oven latch, where swapping out the appliance seems like a lot of extra effort. At a minimum, I think they should make a customer aware that a replacement of an moderately unusual appliance or configuration may take more time than expected. Anyway, none of that should take away from the fact that this place does a great job and has great prices. Ill be back!

This has been a great experience, the manager Tarek greeted me at the door, and even opebed the door for me when i was leaving, showed ownership of the store even though it is not his. He was patient with my needs, even though he didnt have all I wanted, he went above and beyond to find what I was looking for, and he made it happen. Tarek promised and delivered and he earned my future business and the business of my friends and family. Thank you for anot amazing experience, what a passion to make sure your customers are happy. On a personal note, the new store is not as inviting as the old one, its a serious down grade for your bsuiness....

My experience shopping at this store was awesome!! Jesse Villalva, one of the store managers, made my shopping experience EASY, AFFORDABLE, and FUN! I went in dreading to have to replace me washer, and Jesse was able to find me a part to fix my washer rather than replace it! I was able to save so much money! This store gets inventory daily, and Jesse will keep an eye out for what you are looking for and contact you when they get something similar. This is priceless to me since I have a rental and am always looking for something specific! Overall, a great store, purchase, and customer service!!!
