I am a member of the Church and choose to buy from Deseret, and ONLY from Deseret. I, however, took my business to a Christian bookstore this week. The reason? I called this particular Deseret and asked a lady for some help. My father is not a member and I wanted to buy him a book about the Bible, preferably the Old Testament, that didnt have too much of our LDS slant to it. Ive bought things for my non-member friends and family before from Deseret that were good for non-members and I wanted to do it for my father this month for his birthday. We get the Deseret Book pamphlet mailed to us and I had found a few possible books in there that I thought about ordering. Anyway, I called to get some input into which one I should order. When I told the lady I wanted to buy something without too much of an LDS slant, she quickly said..."no, everything here is for LDS." It was almost snappy. And, I was a little surprised because I have bought things before that were applicable to non-members, and I just said..."oh, really? EVERYTHING?" And she quickly said yes. She sounded very short with me and almost slightly rude. It was as if she wasnt happy that I wanted to buy something for my non-member family member. And, that was it. She didnt offer other suggestions, or say anything else on the phone. SO...needless to say, I felt like she wasnt helpful at all, and went to a regular Christian bookstore for the first time in 10 years, since I was baptized!

I enjoy visiting Deseret Book. They have the best selection of current LDS authors and scriptures. The staff is helpful and friendly. They offer suggestions when you need ideas for gifts or when you are looking for a book for a particular age group and/or topic. The environment is pleasant, inviting and peaceful which is nice. Recently, I even booked tickets to The Forgotten Carols through Deseret. I love getting the emails from Bryce Wagstaff, especially for Family Home Evening. His emails give that extra personal touch which earns this Deseret Book a 5 star rating. The only criticism I have is that the Platinum Rewards costs so much. I love receiving LDS Living but unless you frequent the store regularly it is difficult to fully utilize benefits of membership and therefore doesnt make membership a good value.

My husband Lou and I have always been pleased with our visits to Deseret Book. We are always greeted warmly when we enter the store, we are allowed to browse to our hearts content, and if we are looking for something special, and cannot locate it, the staff is willing to assist. Over the years, we have been especially pleased with the FHE emails, that we frequently study together, or with our children and grand-children, and are especially excited to begin a study of Preach My Gospel to assist us in our desire to become member missionaries, and to help our future missionary grandchildren to prepare to serve. I am so grateful for the Deseret Book store by the Denver Temple! It is a wonderful resource for church members to find books, movies, music, art, gifts, and much more! We try to stop there every trip. This Deseret Book has a peaceful atmosphere, friendly staff, and a great selection. Ladies Nights are always fun and the weekly emails with FHE ideas are superb! Im also hoping that another store will open up in Fort Collins. Until then, this store is my go-to place to find what I need... and to snag some yummy Lion House Snicker doodles!

The Deseret Book bookstore in Littleton has a great selection of LDS books as well as many other quality books that meet high moral standards. The store also has a great selection of music and art work. The staff is friendly, personable, and helpful. Its a wonderful atmosphere to look for and find thought provoking and inspirational reading material at great prices! While youre at it, check out the delicious food in the pantry.

Denver Deseret Book is a great place to shop. Staff is always helpful and cheerful. Lots of great things to purchase to help with teaching and church assignments. Love to browse the art and music. Gotta love the smell from the Lion House Bakery . . . and the goodies to eat.

They have an excellent selection of Christian books and music. They specialize in LDS books and music, but have such a great selection that would appeal to most Christian faiths. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Prices are competitive.

This store smells amazing! They make homemade rolls right in there store along with other yummy things too. They also had lots of uplifting books and music and movies etc... A really great variety of gifts and ideas for Christmas and Birthdays.

At Denver Deseret Book the atmosphere (and the smells) are inviting. The staff is friendly and helpful. The location is convenient for shopping when I attend the temple. I also appreciate and use the online FHE lessons.
