City Stacks is an amazing reminder of what a bookstore can be - a place that can offer wonderful books but more importantly a wonderful experience. The staff is incredibly friendly and eager to converse with customers. The Corvus coffee is local, fresh, and fairly cheap, while the hot chocolate is the best Ive had in Denver. The book selection is also quite good, and as someone who loves history I was pleased to see so many critically acclaimed books I couldnt find elsewhere. The store especially offers great books on urban living and design. A place to relax, peruse, and read, City Stacks is truly one of Denvers hidden gems.

This is really just over 3 star on my global coffeeshop scale, but Ill round up because its part of a very nice independent bookstore. In fact, there isnt really a separate coffeeshop - just 3 tables and a small bar set among the books. Classical music, a bit loud. Beautiful wood and ducts vibe. One outlet (really an extension cord). Free wi-fi with posted password. Small selection of high quality loose leaf teas. A few cookies and pastries and chocolate bars. High quality hot chocolate.

I visited City Stacks for the first time today, and love it. I was looking for an obscure, out of print book, and though they didnt have it (nobody does!), they could not have been nicer or more helpful - chock-full of recommendations for where to look, and they clearly know their business. I will definitely be back to this charming place! (Also: the iced mango green tea was delicious.)

City Stacks is a gem tucked into downtown Denver. It has a small but great selection of books and the coffee is a little pricier, but really great! They support a lot of local businesses, which is amazing and another reason to support them - and weve even been welcome to have business meetings inside in their reading nooks. Definitely worth stopping in. Also, the brownies are addictive!

A small, quaint bookstore with an espresso bar in it, this is a nice place to go find some new books that you wont necessarily find elsewhere. Sure they have the usual suspects but they also offer a lot of unique finds. The staff here are great and always willing to help. It can be a bit crowded at times but well worth taking the time to shop in this store.

One of my favorite places in Denver. City Stacks is a beautiful and quiet little bookstore, the staff is always friendly, well read, and knowledgeable and the coffee is absolutely delightful. They have a remarkable selection of books, and an adorable sitting area where one can read the day away.

Stopped in for an afternoon cappuccino and it was a great stop. The cappuccino was really good and the barista was great. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxing. There are a lot of good books to read as well.

Owner/Crazy older guy on duty that day was extremely rude, yelling at me when I pulled out my phone, to not buy books on Amazon. The bookstore itself is fine, my experience was jarring

Books first, coffee second - the coffee was good but I wasnt able to tip on a credit card for example. The seating also emphasized books.
