Lakewood, CO is finally complete with the addition of a fantastic new beer, wine & spirits store in the Belmar development. Chris & Keith are the 2 driving forces behind Mile High Wine & Spirits and theyre backed up by the best overall liquor store staff Ive ever encountered. Every time I go in there I just have to vaguely describe what Im looking for and they come up with several great choices for me to choose from - everyone a home run. Theyve broken my dependency on the mainstream California cabs & chards for Spanish, Italian and other delights and theyve definitely heightened my beer drinking experience. Who knew 6 months ago that Id have a blend of pinot noir and IPA waiting to be savored in my refrigerator! And, these guys go above and beyond hosting regular wine and beer tastings at local restaurants and art gallerys. Recently they had 6 of the regions finest microbreweries representing their best stuff (some of it not even available in stores ;-) at the Gaslight Grill in Lakewood. So much great beer, so many great brewmasters, too little time. This is the store you go out of your way to patronize. Theyll steer you right and actually save you time (and their prices are great too) because you are no longer staring blankly at a rack of wine wondering what in the hell do I buy! Do yourself a favor and head over to Mile High tonight! Oh & they have a great discount club that costs nothing to join and saves you 5 to 15% on every purchase.

We have lived in the Belmar area for 2 years and purchase a vast amount of our beverages from Mike High because this place is positively the best. Displays are always clean and well organized. Variety and selection is HUGE. They frequently rotate in new product and there are great sale prices for excellent quality wine. If you are looking for some direction in picking a drink these guys are the best. The employees are always super helpful with their honest opinions and above and beyond service. I also really appreciate the tasting notes for the wines and employee picks. The tastings days are a great opportunity to try something you wouldnt normally purchase; many a time we have found new favorite wine or beer from those. And the cheese is a great addition! Cheers to being an outstanding business!

This liquor store is one of the many reasons I loved living in Belmar. The staff is always super helpful and offer up great suggestions of new beers or wines to try. The selections is phenomenal for not being a very large space. Each and every wine has a little card with tasting notes and food pairings so you can scan for what youre craving and/or what youre going to drink it with. Now that I have to drive a whole 15 minutes to get here versus walking 2 minutes, I always end up needing a box to carry everything out. Dont miss their walk in fridge in the back. Seriously, put on a jacket, go in and peruse the well known and less known beers that are in there. Youll end up with more than you planned to get.

Ever have a really long week with a sick kid, family in town for the holidays, things going crazy at work and you just need a glass of wine and some booze for the fam? That was me tonight. After painstakingly picking out the perfect microbrew mixed pack sure to please everyone, I haul it to the front where the cashier was such a...a disappointment. Rude and snarky on day when thats the last thing you need. I opted to leave and make an extra stop rather than give this joint my patronage. I gave this place 2 stars because their selection was legit. Great organization and really nice inside. Prices were steeper on beer than other local liquor stores.

Easily one of the best liquor stores in town. Rotating bomber selection is constantly changing and is second to none for diversity and premium beers that cannot be found elsewhere in Denver. Scotch and whiskey selection are also substantial, as they only carry above average and up quality, leaving more shelf space for ultra premium items not found elsewhere. Wine selection is very good and caters to the 15 - 25 dollar price point range, with some premium bottles and some lower end items. Try the Barnard Griffin Port, Del Profesore White Vermouth, and the Balvenie Single Batch Scotch, which you cant find elsewhere in Denver!

Ive been coming to Mile High for six years and am always happy with the selection and service. Clerks are always willing to answer questions or point out where things are, and they have great deals when stuff is on sale. Theyre not always the cheapest, but the store is clean and organized well, and their selection is great. If youre a red wine drinker who loves a bargain, keep an eye out for the Apothic Red to go on sale (I think for 8.99 at its low?). My one issue is that they dont carry some of my beloved Midwestern microbrews... but theyre not distributed here. So theres not much to do about that.

Nice local liquor store - good selection of wine and beer. Store is clean, staff are friendly and helpful. Great selection of bombers especially Belgians. There is one beer I really like that they dont have = Moose Drool. They offer a discount on 6 bottles of wine and if you sign up you can get customer discounts as well on non-sale items. Only comment is that they dont ask you if you are a member, you have to tell them and sometimes the cashier doesnt want to type it in after they ring you up.

Get on their mailing list to get the invites to their special events for free wine and beer tasting. It is wonderful that they organize and provide free wine and beer for tasting. So often I go into the store with out knowing which wine/beer I will like and this provides a way for me to find the things I enjoy. They are always friendly and have an amazing selection of products. Their prices are only slightly higher than apple jacks for most products.

Easily the best beer shop in the Denver area. They are always sure to stock the latest and greatest brews, just remember that they may not always stick around for very long. Andre is extremely knowledgeable and will give you impressive recommendations for days. Ive never been steered wrong. Prices can be a little higher here, but youll find some great beer you cant get anywhere else, especially when it comes to imports.

This place is a joke, they dont card ANY of the females that enter the store. And i overheard the man behind the register making racist remarks about several African American customers who had just left. I wouldnt spend money here if i had a gun held to my head. Dont listen to these other reviews below, you can bet they are friends of the owner or people who have been paid to write a good review

This is such a great shop! The cold beer selection is awesome, and the staff is amazing. We arent big wine drinkers so tend to ask for help selecting something and the staff has never failed to pull something perfect. If they warn you that the wine with the terrible label is what you want, believe them!

Spanish guy up front very helpful & nice. Big fat football player looking guy (anglo decent) Looked rude & threw a dirty look when I smiled at him. I guess being nice smiling & laughing isnt cool for him.. Try another business buddy. Overall great selection!
