Ill start by saying that I really dont write reviews and am pretty easy to please. However, I wont mince words here. La Cave is the quintessential example of a hotel restaurant that has a nice setting, expensive menu, inexperienced staff, and passable food (some of the food was OK, some terrible). It is sad and we will not be back. Since I typically avoid reading long-winded reviews, here is a numbered list of reasons why we would have been better off at Applebees: 1. Instead of being seated in the lounge with live music, like we were told when we called ahead, we were seated in an empty corner. Disappointing, but whatever. 2. The server did not know the menu and did not write down orders and had to return multiple times to confirm things. Every restaurant needs new staff, so OK whatever. 3. One of the members of our group ordered the pasta dish. 20 minutes after ordering, the server came back and told her that they were out of pasta. Out. of. Pasta. Were beyond whatever now. Thats pretty bad. 4. As a result, we waited a while for the food -- even though the place was half empty. Awkward. 5. Not surprisingly, the $30 strip steak that I ordered medium-rare came out barely pink enough to be considered medium-well. Probably sat under a heat lamp for 20 minutes. The potatoes were basically chips. It was returned. Unacceptable. 6. The 2nd try at the steak, which was delivered 15 minutes later and well after everyone was done eating (I was told it would take 7 minutes and then told "I can box it for you if you like") was medium at best. Beyond being medium, it was the worst steak Ive had in years. It wasnt worth $10. Tipping Point. 7. When the manager came by to ask how the meal was because "she heard there was an issue with one of the meals", it was clear that she was going through the motions and couldnt care less. After the conversation, she walked to the next table, sat down, and started drinking a glass of wine with her friends. Time to write a review. Honestly - if you read this - do yourself a favor and walk across the street to... anywhere else. UPDATE: No dessert was provided free of charge as the owner indicates in her response. We were asked if we "wanted dessert" -- not told it was on the house. Obviously, her information is second hand, so she can only post here what she was told. I am sure that others have had a decent experience here -- but we most certainly did not.

If you like food, dont eat here. Go for the cocktails and atmosphere, but eat elsewhere. The atmosphere is beautiful and it was a great place to chat and have a drink, however, for the first time in my life I asked to send my entree back. It was tasteless, undercooked and uninspired, which I think is unacceptable for an expensive plate. The sauce was watery and the presentation was sloppy. I would expect better quality from the place across the street: Noodles and Co, which is fast food. And this is where we ended up getting a much better meal when all was said and done. I can honestly say I would never eat here again or recommend it to anyone when Denver has so many amazing places to eat.

Mothers Day Brunch 2015. It was just OK. VERY limited selection on the buffet. No fruit station, one bowl of lettuce as salad. You couldnt put a full meal together. They had roast pork, but nothing to go with it. No mashed potatoes or rice, or gravy or apple sauce, etc. The french toast was mushy in the middle. The scrambled eggs were powdered. The view is of the parking garage. Many of the stations needed replenishment and it didnt happen. No cream cheese for bagels. The plates and bowls would run out and they didnt restock them. I wont be back.

Its not often that I write reveiws about resturants, however my visit to La Cave last week was superb! I took my extended family out to eat for a elegant yet casual Sunday morning and was amazed at the quaility of our visit. We were greeted warmly by the hostess who sat us a table with a great view of Denver, the wait staff was attentive and friendly and made sure that we were taken care of. I had the Burbon Pecan French Toast and it was excellent. It was not a visit that I nor my family would forget and I will definately be coming back.

I will never step foot in this restaurant. The way the owner responded to Gregory was rude. He had issues that were NOT resolved. Making excuse after excuse for staff and quality is NOT how you gain customers. Rave about how great your staff is after everyone of them dropped the ball with those folks. I hope you truly meant it. All you will have is a staff with an empty restaurant. Good luck lady. You need to educated yourself in customer service. You come off extremely pompous enjoy your failing Cave

Ordered the Pasta Primavera for lunch yesterday and the pasta was not cooked and hard and dry. Let the server know and she said the pasta may be aldiente, but this pasta was not cooked and it was hard and dry. After seeing my plate was still full, server did not offer to bring out a fresh plate or offer a different choice, she just offered to adjust the bill, so lunch was disappointing. Surprised a place of this scale would serve such quality.

I can excuse the parking lot views given it is in a hotel. But an $18 charcuterie plate was literally pre packaged pre sliced cheese, and very very low quality deli meats. The $38 steak was grey and completely flavorless. I couldnt finish it. The ice cream tasted like it had been in their freezer for a year. If the place cost 1/2 as much it could get 3-4 stars, but the quality and prices are completely disconnected.

I have had multiple experiences at La Cave and they have all been wonderful. Everything including the food, wine, wait staff, lighting, bartenders; all top notch. My filet was cooked to perfection and bacon wrapped upon request. I recommend the calamari and the Mediterranean plate as appetizers. I look forward to future visits to La Cave and hope their new location opens shortly after this one closes.

I was at the Sheraton during my business week and usually I am not a super fan of restaurants inside hôtels. Nevertheless I was seduced by the cellar and I decided to try. It was a real pleasure to dine and to take couple of glasses of wine with the fire place just behind me. The food is fresh and the bill was really reasonable. I recommend to try also the chocolate from the boutique... Delicious.

Told me I couldnt have breakfast, then made wait over an hour so they could change over to lunch , with out telling me I would have to wait . Waited over an hour for a fine dinning experience and to be treated better , ended up tired of waiting and paid for food and left before it even got there . Go to Dennys across the street, at least youll get to eat. Dont waste your time or money here
