Overpriced, crowded, rude employees, horrible parking, OVERHYPED!!! Avoid this location at all costs. For a flagship store you would expect the best but instead expect the worst! First of all the parking situation is absolutely terrible. The ticket machine to get into the parking lot can sometimes take a very long time to dispense a ticket which in turn causes a traffic jam and line to get into the parking garage/lot. Not only that but the last time I went in the machine spit out a ticket only to find out that the parking lot was full. Had to circle around and come back out. Second, the employees at this location as a whole are rude and incompetent. Even with plenty of customers in the store they tend to just stand around and talk to each other. When I was able to finally get ones attention after waking around the same section for 10-20 min they were about to go on break or were done for the day. I asked if someone else could assist me, directly in front of a manager mind you, the employee assured me that they would get someone to help. Nothing happened as I waited and waited, meanwhile the manager who clearly heard and saw that I was in need of help simply walked away. When I was able to finally get someone else to help the employee was very vague and definitely didnt know what they were taking about. They seemed more interested in listening to a conversation that other employees were having about a customer who had just left. Overall, I have never had a good experience at this location and it seems to be getting worse and worse every time I go in. Dividends or not REI is slowly loosing its loyal customer base as Im not the only one in these reviews who feels the same. Shame on you REI!!! They are now the Walmart of sporting goods and dont seem to care or be doing much about it.

I like this flagship store for the variety and stock on hand merchandise. But, the customer service is very much lacking especially in the cycling department. There are a few good workers who care about their jobs in the other departments and thats great. But, the two people who were working in the cycling department on 20 March 2017 in the morning shift are really awful. Im a military member from Hawaii and really wanted to see the new Co-op cycles and would have purchased one if they even asked me if I needed help. Nope, they were asking everyone else that came after I had been looking at several cycles. I even approached the lady who was working the shop and asked about the cycles and she stated "All the Co-op bikes are in that area", and walked to another customer that came after me and showed him cycles. Really? As you can imagine I was upset. I blew it off and looked around in the department. Another worker, a guy came around the department and was asking customers he saw if they needed help and I thought "cool," maybe this guy is going to help me. Not at all... he looked at me looking at other cycles and passed me and helped another guy behind me at another cycle. That took the cake. I walked down to the cycling gear and he came by looking for a tool or something near a table and I told him "this department customer service sucks!" Then, he looked at me and stated " You need help?" I said "Not from anyone in this department!" As a service member, I am appalled by this type of treatment. Especially from a Co-op that I have been a member for 15years. I have visited many REI stores across the country and have nothing but great customer service from all except from this store. A FLAGSHIP store to boot! Disgraceful and unprofessional to military/people of color!

alright so im buying a watch and the salesperson is hearing-impaired, which you dont get right away. you speak. then nothing. then an intent gaze. and you look at him and enunciate, as if subliminally directed. excessively helpful this guy. and im blinded by the sheer diversity of ferociously ugly electronic wrist implements that appear to perform every desperate oxygen-deprived effort but denote the time. at the slightest indication of interest my salesperson begins cataloging features and functions, costs and curiosities. i restrict the search to "analog" and "alarm" present. He finds this watch, five alarms. Im thinking alarm tones, but its not that, its alarm memories. we dont know this at the time because no one can find the documentation and theres little eagerness to start deciphering 3-point type because while this delicate social dance goes on theres unnatural movement, irregular interest in my immediate environs. people looking at watches not interested in watches. feigning interest frowning at incomprehensibles. and this happens to me repeatedly. the first time i noticed it was at the back wall of one of those oversized king soopers. rows and rows columns and columns of yogurt. the person who appears by my side is looking but not getting. no hope of choosing. absolute unqualified indecision and ambivalence. still he looks. i tell him "youve never bought yogurt in your life." and then this morning, a woman, jovial, jocular. she makes some comment about a label on my jeans. it was helpful; it wasnt not good information. shes jogging, im walking. our paths congrue and diverge at almost the same instant. yet this interview takes place. in rush hour. these things dont happen. im not that interesting.

Terrible customer service! I rented a tent, 3 sleeping pads, and 2 sleeping bags to take my children camping. The start of the trip was incredibly stressful due to the fact that the tent they rented me was missing the back part of the top pole that slides into the grommet. We spent out camping trip with a tent that kept dropping down and leaking on us! Also on this trip I ended up fracturing my ankle, I spent the day at the emergency room. After getting home I was in too much pain to drive the 45 minutes down to the store and was not sure if my husband was going to be home in time to take it before the store closed. I called the store and explained the situation and ask if there would be a way to bring the gear back the next day with out being charged; given that there was an emergency circumstance, I told whomever I talked to that if I was going to be charged for it then I would find a way to get it down that evening; he assured me that it was not an issue and I would not be charged if I brought it Monday instead of Sunday. Well I just received a phone call from my husband stating that for one they could care less that the tent that they rented me was not fully functional but for two that they were charging us for the day because their employee didnt put a note on my account! How is this my problem? I called and said that I would have brought it back Sunday if it was an issue and if I was going to be charged! My husband was finally able to get them to only charge half the rate but still, I was told there would be no charge at all! Bad form REI and guess what? I was planning on buying all new camping gear from you. Tent, packs, bags, air mattress, the works but I guess I will be going to EMS instead.
