Ive been bike shoppn a lot lately for parts and other random things like mounts and stuff Ill want for long trips, mtn trails,.etc. Im basically new to all this and just trying to do my due diligence right? What better way to make sure you get the best deals and info? So my gf and I have been in and out of Bicycle Village, and the others around this vicinity enough now to know that so far the guys at REI have stood out the most as honest, effective salespeople. We had some people bold face lie to us about the ability to use a hitch lock on a sale bike rack at Bicycle Village when we had the info already from several online shops and this REI, including his teammate who wasnt privy to our previous conversation. Confirmed its not worth the extra 100-250 the other dude was trying to push on us even though we explained we are on a tight budget before hand. Anyway, when you have an exceptional experience with someone who really enjoys what their doing, and thry also enjoy helping/teaching you - that really stands out these days and deserves a nice lengthy review :) SO, my experience with the bike guys at REI thus far have been above and beyond expectations. Scott set us up with a few lessons in maintenance. They know well be back for sure in the future. If you want to have the best possible support and information for making informed purchases for all your biking needs I highly recommend you talk to the peeps here at REI. Looking forward to checking out the other departments and learning from other people working there. They love what they do and definitely deserve your business.

This could have been a much better review. The gear is fine, the staff is friendly and offer better advice than most other stores of this type. However, beware of what they promise in regards to transactions, credit, etc... Also beware of ordering Yeti products from them. They have a bad relationship with the company and have serious issues with meeting orders for Yetis. This deals more specifically with the REI MasterCard and the information given out by the REI staff/customer service help line in regards to that product. We made a large and expensive order. Applied for the card and had to wait to get it. However, we were in a big sale period and we needed a lot of gear. We were told we could easily return the order and replace it on the card once we received the card. This would have given us 5% cash back. We get the card and we are told there is no way to do this other than to physically march everything into the store or ship it back for return and reorder. Then we ordered a Yeti Tundra. 3 expected delivery dates later and the cooler was still on back order over a month later. However, customer service lied and said it was no longer on back order. Ordered it direct from Yeti and we will be getting it in 5 days. For all of this? A service member on the phone admitting they have struggled to get Yeti products for years. Why sell them then? A loose promise to bring up my concerns at the next employee meeting and a $25 gift card. Pitiful. Beware

I called last night to check inventory on a specific footwear - the sales person indicated that they had it in stock in the correct color. This morning I arrived at the store location and what was greeted by the sales person in footwear. I indicated what I was looking for - she responded with a dead stare right through me and acted as if I asked her to do something inappropriate . She checked inventory and returned with the wrong color. She then gave me some excuse about how inventory can be put back in the wrong location etc. She had no clue about the product. And was lifeless in her presentation. I then visited the customer service counter and was greeted by a service rep that probably worked at Disneyland at one time. He had life but no knowledge - I indicated " forget it. I will just order direct from the manufacture. " Sales can be straight forward - just a little knowledge and customer service.

Doesnt even deserve one star. Feels like a trustifarian from boulder owns the company pretentious imbeciles Truly the most abrasive customer service. I havent been inside of an REI since I was about 12, that was 10 years ago. I remember it fondly. Look what I just experienced whats the abysmal to say the least. After spending over $300 I was forced to carry out a 56-pound tent alone with a full shopping cart as well as the dolly. Every interaction with staff there was like they didnt want to help me. Everyone was more interested in getting away from me so they didnt have to continue working. The woman selling me the 56lb 10 repeatedly warned me how heavy it was so she wouldnt have to get it for me. I will never set foot in then REI ever again as everything is overpriced and I cant imagine Staffing train much better anywhere else.

I liked nothing about this store. Unfortunately the staff is outdated, cant talk shop, about any of their "specialty" sports or supplies. It felt so lifeless that the frogs would run away if there was a penny pond. What makes it so bad is rei is a top name in outdoor sports and activities and these employees are supposed to LOVE the work they do well at this store there is none and the people are bland and bad retail workers. Even called them up myself after trying to help fix the problem to tell them how the consumer felt and was told.by Austin one of there managers that I was being unprofessional hahah yeah ok buddy good luck keeping the store open and watch your numbers fall.

This REI location is amazing the staff was super helpful and very friendly I had to interact with 4 different staff members about a Garmin product that I needed to replace and they were all very helpful and solved my problems in a very timely manner. I was in line at the customer service desk behind about 3 people and the lone cashier working there requested help on the loud speaker to get a 2nd staff member there to help speed up the line, and within 30 seconds they had arrived and helped to speed things up. Now that is efficiency and great customer service if Ive ever seen it! Cant say enough good things about REI and this store is one of the best Ive ever been to.

Clearance signs dont always get you clearance prices at this location. I will no longer be shopping at this location. On far more than one occasion, Ive picked something up because its marked as clearance and it comes up as full price at the register. I sometimes forget to check and dont catch it until I get home. They tried to do it to me again today, but I was only buying one thing. I brought them their sign and they were forced to give me the price marked. Last time I was in, they didnt apply my 20% coupon. Shady business practices at this location and they try to make it your fault like you didnt read the sign correctly. Bye REI!

isnt a bad thing. But my regular bike guy (any and all bikes in Englewood) was out of town so I took my trek to REI for a tuneup. Its more expensive at REI, but the outdoors are so darn cool now that people are willing to take a fiscal groining for a water bottle. The people at REI are nice, but theyre three days late with my bike and they never even bothered to call to tell me they werent going to be on time. I dont know...Im not mad...just disappointed. Shop local. That way even if its as painfully expensive as REI, at least you get a fuzzy feeling about it.
