My girlfriend (now fiance) and I took a vacation from Wisconsin to Colorado, looking EVERYWHERE along the way for an engagement ring. She wanted a sapphire, but along the way one of the jewelers told us that sapphires wear terribly, and convinced her she wanted a blue diamond instead. Unfortunately, very few jewelers had blue diamonds, and most of the ones that did needed "three weeks" to get one shipped. Once in Colorado, we called up to literally every diamond shop within 50 miles of Manitou Springs (including all over Denver, Loveland, and Pueblo, which were all on our way). When we called up Lane Mitchell Jewelers, Lanes wife (Laura?) said they didnt have any blue diamond in stock, but they sounded like an honest ma-and-pa shop, and she sweet-talked my girlfriend into coming in. It was the last place on our list, though - we had 12 other places in Colorado Springs alone to go to - and we only planned on going if we had time. Boy are we glad we did. When we first came in, Lane sat us down and asked exactly what she was looking for. We looked through several books of rings, and he gave his expertise. For example, he told us that sapphire in fact does *not* wear poorly; its actually made from corundum, the second hardest mineral on earth. This kind of honesty was very refreshing after going to several big-name jewelry stores with shady sales-women. Still, the girlfriend had her mind set on blue diamond, so Lane told us he could ship several of the settings she liked, along with some blue diamonds, for us *overnight*, and we could take a look at them free of charge! The next day we came in and she loved it, so we bought it right there, for about 1/3rd the price similar rings costed at other jewelry stores. All the rings just *happened* to fit perfectly, though Lane never asked us what size ring she wears (she only briefly tried on one ring, which was too loose). Finally, to top it all off, whereas other jewelry shops had said it would take 1 to 2 weeks for their gemsmiths to set the diamonds, Lane did it for us right then, in half an hour, and even let us watch! We are now happily engaged, and she absolutely loves her beautiful blue diamond ring. We cannot recommend this shop highly enough! Thank you, Lane! (and Laura!)

If youre looking for a jewelry store that is outside the normal commercial store this is the guy youre looking for. I have nothing but great things to say about the shop. Its family owned and operated. The only complaint that I have, is about the parking situation down there. Its downtown so well matter where you park you have to pay. Its not his fault though. I was looking for something very unique to get engaged with. Lane and his family, did a great job making the perfect ring for her. When I was dating her she was looking at Princess Dianas ring and Kate Middleton ring, then I got the idea that she wanted sapphire ring. Lane showed me sapphires from all over. He explained the difference between natural he cheated and chemical treated sapphires. He had a sapphire from Montana which are very rare. I chose go with one because it is very rare to hear about the USA Mining for precious gems. I would recommend this business, to anybody getting engaged or looking for something special that they wanted unique look and a lasting memory. Hopefully youll be in business for a long time, keep it up high standards, very creative designs, his knowledge and his reasonable prices! This local business needs to teach the other commercial jewelry stores a thing or two!

These guys are awesome. My fiance had my engagement ring made at Lane Mitchell and it is absolutely gorgeous. He said that Lane took the time to sit down with him and explain all of the different aspects of choosing a diamond as well as giving him the loop and showing him the diamonds that he eventually chose for my ring (white center stone and two blue diamond side stones). They were so patient with me when I came back twice in one day for sizing issues and then a lose stone. Knowing I can be an annoying customer this was a pleasant surprise today when most places do not have such great customer service. We would recommend these guys to anyone. Thank you to the whole family there at Lane Mitchell.

I had the MOST wonderful experience with Lane Mitchell! I called several places asking questions about having my engagement ring fixed (several broken prongs). As soon as I spoke to the young lady on the phone, I knew I was going to Lane. Not only was she up front on the phone, she was up front in person and explained everything to me and the estimate was spot on for a reputable jeweler in the area. I dropped my rings off on Friday and was given a 2 week turn around. Here it is 5 days later, after a holiday weekend and I have my prized possessions! Thank you Charley, Lane; I have already recommended you to friends...and you have made another loyal customer!

My parents passed a way a year ago and I did not know what to do with their wedding rings. Mr Mitchell melted their wedding rings and fashioned them in to a beautiful pendant of which I gave to my sister as a remembrance of our parents. He asked me why I was not going to keep it for myself and then he said he thought there would be enough gold left over to make a ring necklace for me too. I wish I could post a picture of both pendants, they are beautiful. He was reasonably priced as i shopped around before having Lane Mitchell make the pendants. I would recommend this Jeweler over many others in our state.

I have been married for over 50 years, and still have the same wedding ring. I wasnt able to wear it as it spun on my finger because I lost weight and it had to be bigger to get over my knuckle. While I was visiting Colorado Springs, I brought my ring into Lane and he put a "swing arm" on my ring, so it would fit over my knuckle when open, and once over my knuckle, it snaps into place to take up the extra space and fit tightly. I dont know if I am explaining it very well, but what a unique and wonderful invention for people with big knuckles. Thank you Lane!

I went in to Lane Mitchells to have my grandmothers ring restored. I just moved here and he comes very highly recommended. He took lots of time to explain the repair, as it was an expensive and sentimental piece. I couldnt believe how beautiful it was when I picked it up, and it was sized perfectly to fit my finger. I will now buy and take all my jewelry only to Lane Mitchell Jewelers! I was so impressed with his professionalism, knowledge and skill. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM!
