Wow -- what a rotten experience. My husband went into the store to find a bone for our dog. We wanted to help out a "small" shop. Our dog was thrilled to chomp down on her new bully bone, but after 15 minutes we smelled something foul!!!! Yikes, the bully stick was rotten inside. It smelled like a dead animal and my dog had been eating it!!!! I immediately called the store. The person on the phone expressed no concern for my dogs health. He was rude and accused me of trying to take advantage of the store. I was told the refund policy is clearly posted --- "Healthy Pets does not refund items." This was my lucky day as the store would be willing to make an exception and give me store credit. I dont want a store credit -- I would prefer a company stand behind their products. I later learned the product in question had been discontinued--- perhaps there was a reason for that! This encounter was an opportunity to build customer loyalty, but Healthy Pets opted to put profit first. Whats really sad is that I would have been a customer for life and now I wont step foot in the store again -- not even for the store credit! (This is the first time Ive ever written a review. Thats how bad the experience was for me.)

Peter and the staff at Healthy Pet and cat are so attentive, passionate, and friendly. I get everything for my dogs and chickens here. There customer service is amazing and thats why I wont shop anywhere else. It is great to know that someone is looking out for the health and well being of my pets. Peter and the crew are those people. It makes me feel great Shopping here knowing they do their research on whats good and not. Thanks you guys.

I dont understand the negative reviews for this store. Healthy Pet in Thousand Oaks is great! A former big-chain shopper, Ive been shopping here now for months and have never had anything but good service, and great advice. With two GSD and an ACD we have our hands full and are glad to have a store we can rely on for the very best products and service for our wonderful guys. They truly offer only what you can get from a local business!

I love this place, very competitive pricing and they hold several sale events throughout the year were you can get even better deals than the already great ones. As a family owned business their customer service is top notch and they go out their way to find something at another store or even from their suppliers if they do not have it.

Consistently superior customer service and only the best brands of food and accessories. Not the cheapest, but if your pets are part of your family and you love them, you should pay more for the best quality food and save on vet bills. The only place well buy our pet food because they know their stuff and only carry good food.

Do not deal with this company they are the most rude and obnoxious people ever. they have no manners or ability to deal with life in a normal manner. Hopefully their business will close soon since they are not capable of taking care of customers imagine the care your pet could get!! SCARY

I always have a good experience with friendly staff. They often carry items out to my car when I have my hands full with kiddos. Last time they were out of the food I needed, so they offered to deliver for free a couple days later.
