I used to like coming here when I moved up north a few years ago. That was until I asked one of the old men behind a desk to look up a part. I was in a hurry and usually look up the part # for myself in my hanes manual, which I didnt have at the time. Long story short they sold me a high beam bulb when I asked for the daytime light. This is a rookie mistake and they should have given me the right part. If you cannot look up headlights correctly for a customer then youre pretty much dead wieght, and hurting the business. At the checkout after waiting for 30 seconds while the girl starred at her phone, she turned and didnt even look at me and asked if I was ready, "um yeah 30- seconds ago I was " are you f/N ready!? The teen smacking her gum didnt ask if I wanted to do debt or credit and immediately asked to see my I.D. NEVER SETTING FOOT IN HERE AGAIN, after I return the incorrect part I was given Hahaha.

Today I had to return a windshield wiper that was too small. Not only did the sales rep take my return (it had been slightly over the 30 day no refund policy) he noticed that I had been accidentally overcharged at my initial visit. He made the adjustments quickly and without me even having to ask. He also helped brainstorm with me a problem Im having with my windshield. I appreciate so very much the help I received today. Auto parts stores are a foreign land to me and I feel like I can walk into Smothers and get excellent service and learn something while Im there. This particular store was also always very helpful when I was driving a 67 Cutlass. Thank you Smothers!

They always seem to have that little part that you need. The sales staff is very helpful, and straight-forward. They may be a little more expensive than the chains but thats simply because they dont stock cheap parts. They are roughly the same, in terms of pricing, as the big online parts houses for the same brands. Yesterday, I bought a Bosch remand alternator and the pulley needed to be put on the new alt. It was rusted on the old alt, and they took the time to get it done properly, without damaging the pulley. They even had the alt bushings in stock!

Went in to get an o ring for my pcv system, when they didnt show one in inventory, the man at the counter pulled out a generic set of o rings and gave me one that matched the size I needed for free. The guys here have always been willing to help me find parts even if they dont have them.

great parts guys that actually know what your working on. the owner is not my favorite person but hes employing locals and keeping the big chains at bay. you may pay more but they dont sell you junk because they warranty parts.
