Such a fun place to while away the time. I ducked in here on a rainy day and was so happy to see a bookstore with towers of books all the way up to the ceiling, and when you go upstairs its even more packed. There are vaguely defined sections but its very much a scavenger hunt. I wouldnt come in looking for a specific book but of youre into treasure hunting for cool or odd things, this is the place to be

Its definitely worth it to pay a little more for a good book knowing that the money goes to supporting a community bookshop. Oh, and also, Jenny Lewis sometimes walks in here, which is pretty cool. There are reviews written by staff, which is how I found out about Fante a few years back, and cool cards and journals, not like the kind that youd see at a Borders of Barnes and Noble.

One of the few surviving independent bookstores, a great location for book lovers. The owner Beau is a poet himself, so he takes great care to select good titles with literary merit, not just bestsellers. Its selection might be smaller than whats found in the three-story Green Apple Books on Clement, but Great Overland makes up for it with far more reasonable pricing.

Overland is fun place to check out really old rare books. This is not your Barnes and Noble type of spot. Lots of rare old reads here nothing very new. I believe they also sell used. During summers they often have a sale rack outside the store ranging from 5-10$ very good deal if you find something you like. Great staff very friendly. Dont forget to check out upstairs

Great Overland is everything you want in a used book store. Great selection of fiction and non fiction as well as some quirky things like old newspapers and vintage cookbooks. Prices are good, and the half off cart out front is always with a look. The staff our usually helpful, occasionally cranky, but always knowledgeable. Come while away a pleasant hour here!

Tons of books all over the place, though labeled, have no rhyme or reason. Place has two floors and old newspapers which are awesome. Some free/cool events in the upstairs space, which is nice. But overall books are overpriced (or maybe not, maybe Im just cheap) and the atmosphere is rather uncomfortable.

This may be San Franciscos best used book store. The staff are helpful and knowledgeable, and they have an extensive collection of rare (and higher priced) antique books behind the register.

A nice little cozy used bookstore that has so many books to choose from. What I really liked about this place is that they have many genres organized well throughout the shop.

Great ambiance for a book store. I could spend hours browsing. It also has old magazines and log books on the second floor. Def a great place to kill an hour on a Saturday.

Excellent used bookstore with a personality. The owner usually has interesting tidbits to say about the books I buy. Book selection of out of print SF history books.

The selection of books is superb, and the prices are a bargain. Beau and Randy are great guys, and know their books. It is THE Treasure of the Inner Sunset.

Cute and quaint bookstore in the Inner Sunset. If you linger long enough, youll stumble upon a hard-to-find gem at a great price.
