Barnes & Noble chooses bad customer service over customer satisfaction! When purchasing several gifts at Barnes and Noble, in Corte Madera, I was informed of their 60 days return policy for gifts- but not, that that only applied to gift receipts! When I tried returning some of the items 16 days later, I was refused the return because I only had a regular receipt. Neither the personal at BN in CM – including the manager, nor any of the customer service people I contacted by phone or e-mail made even a single attempt at finding a solution that would work for me. Their general communication was:“That’s how it is. Too bad for you. Good bye!” The general tone was: unhelpful, rigid, condescending, uncaring and disinterested. An unfortunate return policy made worse by a lack of interest in customer satisfaction and bad customer service.

These days Barnes and Noble is more toy store than it is bookstore. The place really hasnt evolved much over the years, its still a marketplace of passed over mediums. There are dvds, cds, magazines and even a few books. The prices blow, the staff really doesnt seem to be all that into reading, but there are dying to sell you a Nook. It is what it is. One heads up before I go... While the store would appear to have a Starbucks in the back for all of you Starbucks gift card needs, it is only a Starbucks in name. They use Starbucks branded coffee, but it goes no further than that. You can put your app away Im afraid.

Absolutely love this book store. I can spend hours looking at books and magazines! The staff are also helpful and friendly. Last time I went they even created a Harry Potter themed section for the release of the new book. The kids section can entertain young ones for a long time. They also have Vinyls!! Classic ones! Need a quiet afternoon? Take a visit to the bookstore.

Nice big store. Hope they stick around, because its hard to find the variety at the independent places. Good magazine selection, and they have a Starbucks licensed store. Was there for the Criterion Collection 50% off sale. Good Science Fiction, Business, and Computing sections.

Barns and Noble. At least this location had a friendly staff. But PLEASE stop trying to sell me on your membership... Do the math, I would need to spend $275 to break even... I dont see $5 dollar savings until I have spent over $300.

A really good bookstore, lots of choices. A friendly helpful staff, a kids section, a Starbucks inside where they made the food right then and there instead of pre packaged. This book store is very nice!

This location is large square footage wise and there is a Starbucks inside. The Barnes & Noble sales staff was friendly and helpful. Parking is easy at this location.

The few times Ive been here Ive enjoyed browsing through the books and games section. The staff is also approachable, and there is a coffee shop inside the store.
