Blick Art Supplies is great for two main reasons ~ The first of which is their extensive selection of not only art supplies, but they also have lots of other really cute items for all age ranges. The second reason that this store is great, (This being my very first time in the store, btw!) was the one employee, whom I realized was the manager, at least on the day I was in Blick. Her name is "Kim", & she was the 1st employee that asked me if I needed any help. I now know that Kim is the only employee anyone would ever need while trying to figure out, what is what, in this fairly large store. Kim is extremely knowledgeable about all of Blicks products. Bless her heart, she patiently took my confusing questions about a lot of the supplies & really helped me to understand which was the best way for a beginner like me, to start. I found it most reassuring that Kim made me, someone who admittedly cannot even draw a stick figure to save her own life

I love art stores and I was excited about going here for the first time today. It was almost 5 and they were closing (even though their website says they dont close till 7 on Saturdays). There was a table covered in hundreds of blank sketchbooks in the middle of the store I was interested in. I asked a clerk if they didnt have a single one that was open so I could feel what kind of paper it was. She said it was just regular paper and that I wasnt allowed to open one. Can someone tell me why someone working at an art store would ever say the words regular and paper together like that?... What the hell is regular sketchbook paper? I couldnt find much for big spiral-bound sketchbooks, either. Went to check out and the two clerks were both slow to respond and looked annoyed at having to help me. Sigh. I was excited about this place being my new supply store but I think Ill find somewhere else.

Prices are $$ in the Middle , but its worth coming here because they have most things Artist or Hobbiest need & If Im right but dont quote me on this Student get a Discount & being a member get you benefits of getting coupons send by mail or email when they are having deals that can Save you money . So if your coming here in a Professinal or as Artist its worth it just know what you need because Price can get Exspensive with lots of things that you can Add mattering on what your getting & your price range , but you can Still save if you know when to come when they have deals on something or if your just checking the clearance area .

Ive gone here before for paper and pens and after I stopped wandering around through fascinating isles of every art gadget and tool you could think of I realized I was in trouble because there were seemingly endless options for even pens and I wanted them all. Ive gone here for special brush pens and big fat wedge pens and your everyday standard inking pen that you just can never seem to get right without trying 20 options and Ive always walked out with a few more things than I planned. If youve spent too much time in standard art store chains trying to see if they even have what youre looking for, Blicks is a nice change of pace worth checking out.

Staff is pretty friendly. Ask around for something specific and theyll find what they have in stock or a close equivalent. There are constant promotions and a 40% discount coupon that comes with the online newsletter, student discounts make some of the products quite a good deal. You can try out a lot of the pens, markers, pencils on a scratch notepad that makes it easier to see how it feels. They have most well known brands and their own Blick version for a much more reasonable price when youre learning. This location has their own parking lot which is rare for any business in downtown and little italy.

I found it kind of odd that they have 4 people behind the registers but only 2 were able to answer questions and check people out, and the other two were organizing papers or something and talking to each other the entire 40 minutes I was there. They usually have one person wandering around the store to help people though which is nice. They have a big variety of well stocked supplies for art and architecture, and I was able to find the item I needed for a model as well as a few others, a bag of small bushes, that were very reasonably priced.

Yesssss, I LOVE this Blick, I come here at least once a week. The employees are usually very attentive, organized and well equipt. This store has everything that I have ever needed for conventional art supplies for multiple mediums. In my case, Moleskine albums, Canvas, Watercolour, Oil paint (winsor and newton), brushes, Micron Pens, Gel Pens, Copic Markers,, the list goes on. Note - If you plan on driving, there is a parking lot to the left of the storefront, youll need to go in and get a parking pass from the store after you park.

Another wonderful store with a wide variety of art supplies. There is a parking lot available, and this store has two floors. The store is currently going through a remodel and has moved around some items. The pencils and pens have been moved up to the second floor with the sketchbooks, and all of your painting needs are now on the ground floor. The staff are friendly, and everytime Ive come here Ive had at least 2 employees come by and ask for help. Lovely place.

They had exactly what I was looking for. Quiet store. I was a little frusterated about the parking though. You have to go inside to get a validation and then go back out to where you parked and enter a code into the machine and then go back to your car to display the ticket. Its not too bad if you are by yourself, but i had two toddlers with me so it was scary for me to have to walk them in and out of that busy parking lot four times total for such a short visit.

Blick is an art majors dream come true. They have almost every medium imaginable, from oil paints to molding putty and stylish novelty gifts. There is parking on the south side of the store which helps out tremendously since Little Italy is always booming. You can also sign up to their email club and receive amazing coupons and discounts almost bi-weekly. I would highly recommend shopping at Blick if you are looking for something specific in the art world.

Stopped by for a friend who paints and I wanted to get her a surprise gift. Not knowing much about the art world, I was helped tremendously by an employee, Ivy. She was so nice and well knowledged. She didnt just try to get me to purchase the most expensive item the way some other people who work in that type of industry might. They also had a great sale happening at the time. I will be back for any art needs and will recommend to all my friends.
