I shop at this Joanns location a few times per week. The selection is great, and so are their products, but if i had a better fabric store I would go somewhere else. Ive visited many locations and this one is the only one that the following review applies to. Firstly, its a very dirty store. The shipments are not put away quickly, so there are often piles of fabric and boxes and garbage around the sore. Sometimes these boxes take up a while aisle and you cant get through, which can be frustrating. Second, the employees are pretty rude. Ive never had someone be rude to me, but I have seen employees be rude to other customers, and to EACH OTHER! I have witnessed multiple verbal arguments between employees, who have no consideration to who might be watching. Their carts SUCK! I rarely get a cart that wheels straight, and doesnt stick. They need new carts desperately. My last complaint is about the bathrooms.. if you dont believe me, go use it next time youre there. I have never seen it clean. Its absolutely gross, with smears of poop, puddles of pee, dirty sinks and mirrors, dust (really???) and mold. I have a toddler so ive been in that bathroom countless times, and every time its the same. It rarely gets cleaned, and for a customer restroom, that is flat our unacceptable!! I NEED to go to this store. I own a small business and I use joanns as one of my suppliers. If I wasnt in such a need on a 3 times per week basis, I would consider going to Escondido, or a different location. I go to Michaels whenever I can if they have what I need. Ive contacted joanns, and hopefully they will do something to change these issues. No doubt theyve lost business because of it!

Jo Ann has a huge selection of great, affordable fabrics. However, the customer service is simply terrible. I asked one lady about a fleece I saw online, and she didnt help at all. Her exact words were: "We are really low on fleece. What is online is a total different thing from what is in store." Heh, thanks. There was another woman on the phone who was sweet enough. But there was a woman in front of her who was waiting to get help, and when the salesperson hung up the phone and then totally ignored her and went to check on something. Rude! I would not return if not for the need of fabric, which they do have an amazing variety of. The prices of the fabrics are very good, but everything else is a little more expensive.

They have a great selection of cake tips, fabrics, and craft items, but the time I visited they wouldnt honor their coupon on a sale item, even though I was willing to have the sale price revoked and start from the retail price for the coupon to be applied. It seems like they give coupons as a way to get buyers in the door, but always have mini sales so they dont honor the coupons they provide as the coupons only apply to non sale items only. (Sometimes they have coupons which apply to sale items as well but more rare). with that said its still one of the few places in san diego where you can get items like these. If Joanns doesnt have it, the next best location is micheals. Docking one star for coupon trouble.

Im from Ohio and needed a small sewing machine to do mending of small sewing projects. The workers there were fantastic with helping me to purchase the miniature White model. Then when I encountered problems with it they went out of their way to accomodate me. Dan "the man" three times gave me assistance. When I called one evening cause I couldnt get the bobbin to wind correctly, again Kat went out of her way to help. I applaud the staff there at the Poway Joann Fabric for making my shopping there such a pleasure. THANK YOU ALL so much!!!!! marge

I was in this store yesterday and I overheard one of the associates yell at a customer. The customer was just asking if they carried a certain product. The associate told the customer to ask another associate and when the customer continued to described the product she yelled, "Oh I dont know. I dont sew! If you dont see it its not in the store! Try some place else!" I was appalled and so I took a peek at who it was. I wish I got her name, but all I know is that it was an older woman with short hair. What a rude associate.

So the store has had some small renovations, not much, they just updated their tech, changed the layout, and bought new carts. When they have good deals it can be great, but beware of some "misplaced" fabrics within the sales fabrics that are not on sale. Before you have your fabrics cut they will give you a price that can change when you go to final checkout, in the front, and dont be surprised if the amount increases. Needless to say was disappointed with the last visit to Joanns.

The customer service was not that great. Cut my ribbon and threw it in a pile for me to organize. When checking out, told me I couldnt use military discount and 40% off one item. I corrected her since Ive done it numerous times. Not my favorite location and

I just started shopping here this month. I havent sewn anything in over 15 years and the employees here are always so helpful! I love that the people who work here are always so hospitable and kind! Their coupons are pretty awesome too!

This place is always a mess. I went to another jo-ann fabrics and it wad awesome. The guys were putting away the bolts of fabric as soon as they were cut for the customer. Poway store should.look more like the San Jose store!

Great fabric selection. If you cant find what youre looking for, just ask someone. Somehow the lady knew exactly where the one bolt I was looking for was. Out of the Thousands that they have. Impressive customer service.

Staff is almost always super nice, even when they are crazy busy. Store is organized well and clean and they have a good selection. I prefer this JoAnns over the one in Esco and drive out of my way to get there.

This Joanns is wonderful! Theyre always well-stocked and always have a clearance rack (my favorite!) The management and associates are quite personable and have always been able to answer all of my questions.
