Pet World is a great local mom and pop pet shop. What it lacks in size...and this place is tiny...it makes up for in quality and amazing customer service. Rock Dog and Cat is everything you would kind of want out of a pet shot. They stay away from the lower end brands/food/treats that you shouldnt be feeding your pet and instead focuses on the high quality and higher end brands that are sadly harder to find. The store came onto my radar when I adopted a reduce dog and I got recommended a great brand of dog food by Honest Kitchen, Rock Dog and Cat was the only local store that carried the food. I talked to the owner there and he was very knowledge with his recommendations based on the kinds of items I was looking for. He also recommended a couple different treats that my dog ended up loving. The store has a great policy that if your pet doesnt love anything there, you are free to bring anything back, opened or unopened. You give them your phone number and the name of your pet and they keep track of everything in store so you dont even need to keep your receipts.

I dont agree with the attitude comments. When its busy, its busy and they try to help everyone they can. While busy they may not have extra time to help as much as much as I need, but when it isn't busy Tom answered all my questions. Im a freshwater guy and I have bought a few fish, although a lil more expensive, I don't have issues with needing the warranty. $4 bucks is cheaper than going back forth elsewhere returning non par dead fish. They also have alot of quality supplies and let me exchange something for store credit. Go early in the morning, best time for advice. And They have great advice. I've been steered very wrong and harmed some of my fish off so call experts on Google. Give these guys a chance. If you have time to trash someone to hurt business and their families, take their opinion with a grain of salt. Go in with a open mind. If their busy, have patience. They will help you with out attitude.

I purchased a red rose anemone at Pet World and sales person ripped it from the rock it was attached to, of course two days later it died and when I called the store to see if they could give me some store credit or something considering the lack of concern they had when they injured the invertabrate, the salesman hung up on me. I know this is what caused the death, my water conditions are perfect. In addition, they do have alot of selection, but all the saltwater fish appeared to have ich and there were several dead ones in the aquariums. I thought I would be safe buying the anemone there since they arent prone to disease, but unfortunately I was wrong and I would have felt better throwing my $100 out of the window instead of giving it to them. They are totally unprofessional and strongly recommend not shopping there to other aquarists. I do recommend Treasures of the Sea in Riverside, they actually know what they are doing!

My first visit I was impressed. This store has one great thing going for it: variety with good selection. The store would certainly do alot for itself if the customer service was at least decent. Plus, it is common place to walk in there and see many, MANY, dead fish floating in the tanks or find yourself stepping on them in the aisles. There is no guarentee on your purchase and their prices are HIGH. I have shopped all over the I.E. looking for knowledge, great service and good selection - as much as I wanted it to be Pet World because I love their variety and they are close by - it just was not! I drive an extra 20 miles to go to Shillingtons in Callimesa. They are honest, excellent pricing, family owned, guarentee their fish and I have never stepped on dead fish in the aisles.

Wow i thought i was an outcast. We passed this place the other day comming from dinner so i stopped in to check it out and i and my wife stood around for 15 min and not 1 person even said hi let alone may i help you. It was pathetic that the staff were not busy and having a conversation about there night. I have a 150,100 and a 75 breeder tank that im trying to add fish to but hell if these people see a dime of my money or will i recommend anybody I know the tough fish enthusiast to buy from them they are very very unprofessional and need training and customer service... i rather go to petsmart than frequent this place. There should be a negative star rating i would give them a -5 stars.

One star you may ask well thats being generous.. Pet world has horrible customer service they dont care about returning customers or keeping them happy. Prices are ok but livestock is not healthy. I bought a fish from them over the last few months + 75% of them all died. I have gotten fish from other shops and seem to have no problem. I just bought two fish on Monday nights and one day Tuesday afternoon. I asked them if they can help me out in any way they said no we dont warranty saltwater fish. So for now on Im going elsewhere and I hope all you who read this dont go to buy fish from the store. Save yourself money and the headaches find another good local fish store but not pet world

This place is not recommended. Their fish are very sickly, and the facility is unclean. They have lied to me in order to make sales, and their merchandise is way overpriced. In addition, they have no warranty on their fish, so if your fish dies in the bag, you lose your money. They dont inquire about your tank size or tankmates to make sure that the fish you buy has a good home. They also sell dyed fish, which is extremely inhumane. Do not go here. This place is run solely for the purpose of taking your money, not to help fellow hobbyists. Find somewhere else for fish.

Great selection! probably the biggest store around for marine fish and corals. Beware though, their prices are high on average and any advice you ask for will lead to a high pressure expensive sale. Owned by a family, but a family in it for the money too. Do your research at home or at smaller pet shops. Also they are really rough with the fish (causes stress and disease) when they pull them out of the tanks. I bought a clown. When they fished him out he scraped his eye on some rock, got pop eye bad, never ate, and died! Beware!

The fish I purchased from this store are very poor in health. My saltwater tank almost crashed because the fish I purchased from this store. $100+ worth of fish died in just 2-3 days after purchase. I am NEVER buying fish from this store again. I will happily make the 40 minute trip to Anaheim to buy my fish there. Ive seriously never had any problems with them, and theyre so much cheaper there anyway. I got a tomato clown and damselfishes there and they ALL survived the near tank crash. Please be very cautious when buying here.
