People up front have descent people skills but there is an employee back in the lumber-yard who is beyond rude and has no business working with the public. His shaggy long-hair appearance, wanna be rock star sun-glasses and bad attitude do not work well in a customer service environment. The guy is miserable and it shows. He has a bad habit of snapping at and disrespecting customers. Today was the third time Ive dealt with this guy and the last. Ive been a customer at Rim for over 10 years and have spent thousands of dollars on materials for my cabin. I refuse to pay 30% more for materials and get treated like dirt in the process. Since Rim wont talk to the guy let alone fire him,..Ive decided Ill just fire Rim. Problem solved..

Needed to rebuild our deck railing and wanted to use the longest boards I could find. Knowing I couldnt fit 20 boards in my truck bed, i remembered reading on RFLs website they offer free local delivery. Im used to spending a couple hours in Home Depot/Lowes picking through pallets of wood to find quality but given the circumstances I thought I would try RFL for the first time. Glad I did. Faxed over my list of items, Pat responded w. couple follow up questions, he then faxed over an invoice, I paid, today they delivered. Im very happy to say the boards are straight and well picked out. All at a very reasonable price. Im very happy overall and will be spending my money here from now on.

Theyve got the typical markup of every store on the mountain, but they also carry the best brands and pretty much none of the crap. Whenever I take the time to research the highest quality item to use for a project, be it GRK screws, PC Petrifier & epoxy wood, even the Milwaukee Right Angle Drill Attachment, Rim Forest Lumber has had it in stock. Its been rather uncanny. And these are brands you wont find at huge chains like Lowes or Home Depot because theyre more expensive since theyre higher quality. Since Rim Forest often throws in a discount for locals, their prices can be competitive with ordering online.
