After being a regular customer here for 5 years, I had a terrible customer service experience there and with a manager nonetheless and will not return. Long story short; I took a screen there to have it re-screened. The guy who took the screen in told me it would be $20.00 for regular screen and $30.00 for "pet screen" We discussed the difference for a few minutes and I chose the pet screen ( I have a cat). When I go to pick up the screen, the ticket says $50.00. When I dispute the fee, the same guy tells me; "what I told you was $30.00 was an estimate..." He never did, he didnt offer any discount or anything other than re-screening AGAIN and insisted I was wrong...period. I paid for my screen and got the heck out of there. Right or wrong this was the most poorly handled "customer service" Ive had and I will not sop there again......Manager: if you read this remember that people share bad experiences more often than they do good ones....

Hillcrest Ace has always been convenient, but I bought my home and Im really seeing the value in shopping at a store thats well staffed with knowledgeable employees. Ive probably been there 6 times in the last two weeks and they are truly helpful and you can always find someone. I went to one of the gigantic stores and spent over and hour lost and trying to find what I need. Hillcrest Ace is a little more expensive but its well worth it for how convenient the location is and how nice the staff are. Hillcrest Ace Hardware, keeping new homeowners from losing it!

This is one of my favorite hardware stores. Lots of extra "nice" items that makes it feel less like the typical hardware store. Plus its nice to see friendly faces some old employees some new. After eleven yrs. it just keeps getting better. And its about a twenty min. walk so not only do I get my walking exercise I get to shop for whatever I like. Today, in fact here in a few I am walking to pick up paint, incense and the last few items on my earthquake/survival list. Well done Ace Hardware.

Was asked for my back pack as I entered...was taken aback as I go here all the time and have never been asked to give up my backpack. I gave it up with a bit of hesitation. When leaving I noticed another woman with a purse back pack and asked why her pack was not asked for...woman working said it was at her discretion...wow she basically pointed to me and said that I looked like a thief. I am in my late 40s and go to that store a lot. Will not be returning.

Very terrible experience the merchandise was Miss priced and it was just as in poor condition as the service. And floor was sticky I would not recommend this location. This not the first time that I have had this experience at this location it was 4 out of 5 times I have had similar problems their. For your own satisfaction and less hassle I would advise you a different location or a different method too acquire the merchandise you need.

Spoke to someone in Hardware inquiring about some screws. The gentleman was extremely short and rude. I was looking for 250 screws and he told me he had 2 boxes of 100 and some lose ones and that he had plenty to satisfy my demand. I asked him to please make sure he had 250 and he got mad because he didnt want to count to make sure they had the quantity I needed. Will never call or visit this Ace Hardware again.

The best neighborhood hardware store ever! Youll be welcomed by the friendliest staff youll ever meet and comforting to find that they are very well educated with the products they carry. Especially, Tiara, she knows that store like the back of her hand and has always been so informative and helpful with anything I throw her way. Amazing! I highly recommend Ace Hardware in Hillcrest for your hardware needs!

Large selection of hardware, tools, services and boutique items. The staff if very friendly and knowledgeable and always willing to help. Among the services offered are, glass cutting, lock re-keying, key copying(some auto keys), tool rental, carpet cleaner rental, a chop saw for simple in store wood cuts, a drill press, paint mixing and matching, knife sharpening, and screen repair.

You could be easily fooled walking by this place, thinking its a much smaller shop inside than it is. Thats because theres a downstairs area youre completely missing. You wont find the large raw materials - the boards, doors, windows. But you will find just about everything else youll find at any other hardware store, and youll be relieving some guilt while doing so.

Fast, friendly, knowledgeable personnel. Way better to have a neighborhood hardware store than an impersonal big box place where they cant help you. This store is small, but has everything you need. They will help you with whatever you need and not let you buy anything you dont need. Personal service without paying extra.

Old style hardware store with tons of inventory. You can buy as many or as few screws as you want. Dont have to buy pre-packaged 10 screws when you only need 3. Friendly knowledgeable staff. Love this place!
