6 STAR SERVICE!!!!My wife and I were out on our Sunday bike ride along the 101 and we decided to stop by this Ace hardware store because I needed a rubber "O" ring for the chin strap of my bicycle helmet.I walked in the front entrance....never been in this store in my life and a female staff member asked me if she could help me.I said I am looking for an "0" ring for my bicycle helmet chin strap.The lady...her name is Kat said Ill show you where they are kept because we just moved them.We walked down a long aisle at the rear of the store and Kat pulled out the small box tray that held all the various sizes of "O" rings they stocked.I had one of the "O" rings from our helmets in my hand as we tried to find the exact same size.Kat helped me select the right one and said tell them at the counter that it is 27 cents.Well let me tell you I have never had such friendly helpful attentive service in my life while buying such an incredibly inexpensive item.My wife was also impressed and said in future when we need anything from a hardware store this is where we are shopping.Well done Kat and Crown Ace Hardware.

The fellow who thinks Ace employees open on Sunday "When they want to" must not go to this Ace very often. First of all the owner is not on site to talk about opening. Employees are the only people who open this Ace Location, and a remark to the effect "We leave off the opening time so we can open when we want" clearly was made in jest. That Guy has got to get a sense of humor. I go there all the time, and the employees there spend time with the customers, are eager to help, and direct me to items Im looking for all the time. Further they look to solve homeowners problems beyond what they have to sell, and have suggested several creative solutions for me regarding painting projects, windsock pole anchoring, and more. There are a great bunch of people there, and I enjoy going there as do a multitude of others I know.

Soooo - I check other Ace stores in my area....they open at 8 am Sunday....so I show up at 8:15.....closed up tight. The amazing thing is their sign on the door....Monday thru Saturday they show their open and close times....for SUNDAY they show ONLY the closing time! So I came back at 9 and they had opened at 8:30. When I inquired about the missing information on their sign....I was told "thats so we can open when we feel like it". No sarcasm, just statement of fact. I guess thats your prerogative if you own the business..... So he helps me NOT find what I need...tells me they dont have it. I explore on my own and find it anyway. I guess I saved a trip to BigBox after all! Whew!!!
