Meanleys is a wonderful store in the center of La Jolla where one can find most of the practical things needed around the home or garden: paint, nails, screws, tools, hardware, electrical materials, Swiss army knives, cooking pots, cleaning supplies, mouse traps, etc. The store is of modest size but their inventory is huge, and 95% of the time, one finds what one needs. Probably the best part, though, is that you dont need to search by yourself. The stores staff is very friendly and incredibly helpful, especially with sage advice, which is worth a trip to the store by itself. This store is a gem on Girard!

The thing about buying tools or hardware is needing the ability to try them out before you buy. Ace, with a knowledgeable and friendly staff, has everything you need to complete your project. They are dog friendly too! Bring your dog inside and the staff will give your furry friend a treat.

Awesome hardware store! I went in not expecting to find the specific, somewhat rare hardware nuts and bolts I was looking for, but sure enough they had them! The staff was very helpful and quick to understand my odd requests.
