Ordered my Kona through this dealer. My sales associate was friendly in setup of the pruchase, but there were a few things wrong with the bike. The headset cap wasnt tightened properly, and had play, also crank bearings didnt have the proper spacers. I had brought the bike in on this problem before, but after a week of being in their shop, all they had done is wrenched the cranks down on the spindle and said its fine. Play was still there and it took research on my part to point out that a spacer was actually missing from the bottom bracket itself, brought the bike in and showed them this, and while they did supply me an awesome bike as a Demo for the weekend, the problem should have been caught the first time the bike sat for a week in their hands. Super slow turn around times, in season, if you bring your bike in for a spoke fix, dont expect to get the bike back within a weeks time, moreso if you have wheelset with Mavic Zicral spokes, (which I might add they have on quite a few bikes with this wheel set sitting on the show room floor), they dont have the spokes stocked and will have to order them, adding more time to your downtime. Also to add, my previous experience of having a wheel trued from them is terrible, it was dished too far to one side and tension on the spokes were way off from even, they didnt even have the spoke wrench stocked and available to buy thats necessary for Zicral spokes. When you buy a bike from them, free tune ups are included, but as I said, they are slooow and done incorrectly. They have a high volume of Main Street yuppies buying and having bikes serviced, but not a lot of mechanics to maintain quality on this demand. There are other great dealers to buy your bike from and serviced in the area, one example Ive always had a great experience with is Livermore Bicycles in Dublin. With my Zicral spoke issue, I brought my wheel in, they had the proper spokes stocked, and replaced them right then and there, same day. They even had the proper spoke wrench for my to purchase in stock. I will not be buying a bike from BP again. They only time theyll see me is when I have a warranty issues with my Kona frame requiring me to go to BP.

Took my daughters less than a year old Giant TCR 0 frame in as the seam was seperating on the seat stay. The Owner/Manager told me it would be $50 just to hang it until the "rep stops by", or I could "bring it back when the rep was in". He could not give me a time frame, but said it would be at least two weeks to a month. I happen to know that reps normally do not handle warranty issues, rather the shop contacts the company directly, unless its something out of the norm. I pressed the fact that this was a warranty issue and not from damage. As a Giant dealer he should take care of warranty problems without unreasonable additional cost, to which he restated he would "hold it for $50 until the rep came" and "thats our policy for all warranty bikes". He then told me I could take it to another Giant dealer and maybe they would do it for free. I did...and they did! I also sold the new frame as I no longer felt she was safe on a Giant, after testing several other seatstays on their frames. Purchased a Cervelo for her at The Cycle Pros down the block on Main St. ( Bicycles Pleasanton told me there were no other bike stores in the area...LIED AGAIN!!!) and we are very happy with our purchase and the service we received.

I am surprised to read the negative reviews here. I bought my bike here in 2004; I did a lot of looking and found the staff to be knowledgeable and helpful. Today I visited the store for the first time in several years -for the free tuneup they offer on bicycles purchased there. Based on the reviews I wondered if they had changed ownership. The tune-up was done while a shopped around town (that was lucky I think- I had expected to pick it up in a day or so) They did not try to sell me anything extra (though I knew I needed a new tire which I purchased and had installed.) and the tuneup was free of charge- as promised. The staff was pleasant and fun to talk to. I have moved recently and Mike was offering ideas for bike trails in the new area. No complaints- Im still glad I bought my bike from them.

Ive been to the store to buy a few things over the years. I ended up getting a credit that was put on a gift card envelope with the guys card in it. Went in over the weekend and they wouldnt accept the credit because the guy didnt work there any more and they couldnt find any info on it in their database. How is this my fault? Terrible service! The credit was small, 20 bucks, that wasnt really the point. I think I had $60 in goods to buy. w/e, I definitely wont be back to this store. Contrast this to Cal Bikes in Livermore where they bend over backwards to help you resolve issues. Heck, I think all the bike stores in the area have been pretty good (aka cycle pros, performance, livermore cyclery, etc.)

I came into this shop in need of a bike that day. I made that clear, stated my needs, and one of the employees (Tim) walked me though a few different options. Overall I had a very pleasant experience, and I rode away on a bike perfect for me. Their bike selection is very diverse, as they have everything in stock ranging from BMX bikes and Fixies to both ends of the road and mountain bike spectrum. They also sometimes have used bikes for sale (thats what I went for). The used bikes are generally pretty nice road bikes, and the prices are very reasonable compared to what new road bikes cost. I would recommend this shop to any biker in town, and Ill be making it my own go-to bike shop.

I cant thank Tim enough for his guidance and help. I am a completely newbie to serious biking and Tim recommended a comfort bike to get started based on my perceived requirements. I bought the bike, rode it a couple of times and then test rode a proper road hybrid my friends had. I realized that I liked the feel of the road hybrids better and I requested him if I could bring my bike in and upgrade to a road hybrid. Tim accommodated my request (he was not obliged to) and helped me choose the right hybrid bike for me. I cant thank him enough for letting me pick the right bike for me. I will update the review once I have a chance to use this service facility as I use the bike.

A couple of months ago, I took my bike there to get a valve replaced. The salesperson was friendly and replaced it in 5 min. I didnt have to pay. This past Saturday, I took my husbands bike because his like has the same problem. Tim, one of the manger, was rude and unfriendly. He wouldnt look at me while he was barking at me. He said to replace the valve will cost $15 and another $25 for labor. I couldnt believe it. I explained to him that I did it a couple of months ago. He sarcastically said, " I wouldnt know who would do it for free." Of course, I left the store. Never again would I go there.
