Amazon Prime will put them out of business. Ive been coming here for YEARS. Decent selection and a large staff of nerds like me who like this stuff and know quite a bit more than me about about it. Lots of nice guys work here too. I bought a Traxxas EZ Peak Plus lipo/nimh charger. They gladly sold me for $60. I bought it late in the evening from them. Took it home. Charged great. But the internal cooling fan rubbed a piece of plastic inside making a terrible noise. No big deal just a manufacture slight defect with the injection plastic sticking out or something like that. I took it back the next day, first thing in the morning. I contacted the same a**hole who sold it to me. Now for those of you who are reading this, youll just have to take my word for it, but as someone who works in the customer service industry, I understand customers can be jerks. I understand customers can be terrible to employees. In my life I make it a point to never be this way. I was extremely polite and nice. I wasnt upset with the guy, I wasnt mean or sarcastic or rude with him I was very polite explaining the issue with the charger. BUT his whole face and demeanor and body language changed when I explained to him the issues with the charger that I just bought from him the evening before. His response to me was "oh cool have you contacted the manufacturer?" Oh cool? OH COOL??? Really a**hole??? It was his sarcastic way of telling me good luck with that were not taking it back. I explained to this a**hole I just bought it from their store, who is selling this product and it doesnt work properly. He could have cared less and was glad to tell me hes not going to take it back or exchange it. He then told me I should take it apart and try to fix it myself. Haha take apart a charger I JUST bought from them. Now you may read this and think that I brought back some messed up, broke charger or some weird stuff like that, but this is the reason Im going out of my way to write this review. I was just there no more than 15 hours ago in the evening and brought it back first thing in the morning, pristine in the box. This place with customer service is a joke and a lot of these comments are saying so. I happen to go to Amazon and found the identical exact charger for $25 cheaper. I started researching and found that Amazon sells every single RC part in the world available for about 30% cheaper than this overpriced store. Since then Ive bought every single RC component Ive ever needed off of Amazon and 99% of the time everything sent to me is perfect. When its not, they do not even hesitate batting an eye to return it. But… But I tried business with them one more time. Again, you may think that Im some left-field supercritical dude. Im not. Im a regular old homeowner, normal job working regular regular guy just going in there looking for C average customer service. I bought an RC car off of Amazon and I was switching over the charger port from their original one to a Traxxas one and I thought I would have HobbyTowns solder it for me. I also brought in a replacement from Amazon that Amazon was replacing for me because the first one had a defective electronic control module. No biggie. There was another a**hole there, who mustve asked me three different times how I got a replacement RC car from Amazon. I had to explain to him, like a toddler, that I got it through Amazon bc the ECM was messed up. It blew his mind and he was a complete unprofessional, childish a**hole. Point is...all I was there for, was to get a tiny pigtail soldered from them, I wasnt bothering them with anything that was broken on the parts that I brought in, I was handling that all myself with a completely different company, I was there to have them soldered a $5 part and they were AWFUL to me. Turns out I found the pigtail on Amazon for a dollar cheaper. Ill never return to this store and I LOOK FORWARD to the day Amazon puts them out of business. If this is how the owners are going to allow their employees and managers to run it then good riddance.

I have shopped at for years from the old location to the new location. The airsoft department is the biggest in town. On most days they have 2-3 guys working in that department, which shows something, they are moving new guns and gear and repairing old ones. Being that busy shows they know their jobs and they do it well. So I am a return customer, and will continue to be a return customer. They have built a total of 3 guns for me, one was a production gun that they heavily modified to an IPSC style race pistol, and they built two custom rifles from scratch for me, all three perform flawless. As with any custom gun there were hiccups but they took the time to work them out. And they took good care of me on the price. Usually as soon as I round the corner I am greeted with a smile. When I have a question or seek out an idea the staff is quick to work to come up with ideas and solutions. They worked hard to build a second upper for my m4 to enhance my airsoft game play. They came up with a unique idea and the execution of the build was excellent. In both the firearm industry and airsoft industry there are tons of unnecessary attitudes, this place isn’t like that, the guys behind the counter are super friendly, and I have sat and watched them answer questions from the smallest of children to the curious elderly customer who just has questions. They have the best inventory in the Fresno/Madera/Kings/Tulare counties. And if they don’t have it they will get it for you, I not only have them do my gun special orders but they also order all of my nylon gear needs too. As for the rest of the shop, my daughter loves the place. I see happy faces there each time I walk in. You couldn’t ask for a better place to spend your airsoft dollar. Neil M.

In terms of Warhammer 40k, Hobby Town surpasses all rivals in the Fresno area: Great Selections Groovy Discounts Largest congregation of players Fridays @ 6:30 pm are the best times to play Warhammer if you are looking to take on randoms Tournaments take place once a month (check the back room for the calendar). It is very acceptable to sign up the morning of the competition (10 am sharp on the specified Saturday) BUT ONLY HALF THE STAFF WILL EVER KNOW HOW TO HELP YOU OUT IF YOU HAVE A QUESTION: MINUS ONE STATS Sidenote: And, in terms of conduct, I feel that the tournaments run exceptionally smooth in terms of rule interpretation, sportsmanship, etc. but be careful on regular game nights, because theres 1 or 2 dudes which flatout cheat with gross misinterpetations of their armies special rules. There is also an air of timidity amongst the randoms. They seem really quite shy when asked if they want to play. Prepare yourself for asking a few guys and hearing "uhhhh I am waiting for a friend" and then watching them stand around and playing on their phones. Dont let this cause frustration. There are typically others to choose from. However, you will be out of luck if you cant get a game started before 730.
