Ive been shopping this Harbor Freight location for over 4 years and have shopped at half a dozen other locations in and out of the area from time to time. I spend a lot of money here and have more knowledge of product specifications, in store and catalog inventory than any store employee or corporate customer service rep. i have been in contact with in the organization. This location by far has the most family feel and product knowledge of any other. They need to relocate to a lager facility. They stock most everything either at the store of nearby in a warehouse but not always able to obtain items in stock if not in store. Several times ive been told to return the following day because although they have the items i need in stock, they are located at the nearby warehouse and are unable to provide to me until the following day. I travel from the San Francisco peninsula 22 miles over a toll bridge to shop at this location and when Im told to return to get the items i need am not pleased. it costs $5 toll + gas and vehicle ware and tear. So, the cheap prices are offset by the cost to shop. And, the next nearest store id 26 miles away, no toll, bigger store, but lack of knowledge and lack of customer service (willing to go the extra mile...) makes it a less than pleasant shopping experience. Why dont they open a store on the peninsula somewhere south of San Francisco next to Home Depot (scare Home Depot to death if they did)? I will manage the place. Heck, i practically live at Harbor Freight already! I am the Poster Child for Harbor Freight tools. Why wont they listen to me? ARE YOU READING THIS?

I first found Harbor online and was relieved they have local stores. I came specifically for painters drop cloths that Im using as drapery for a wedding (saving $2k). I called ahead and even though it took more than 5 rings, the sales associate was prompt in holding my merchandise. The store is small but clean and well signed. They only had two cashiers and at least 10 in each line. Not sure if its just the weekend warriors hitting the store like me, or the manager just didnt schedule enough staff.

Drastic changes are needed at this location. For starter, it needs to move to a bigger building. Its currently located in a strip mall along with a bunch of restaurants. The employees are constantly going back and forth between the store and the warehouse to pick up big ticket items for customers. Everything is disorganized. New management needs to come in and clean up this location before it self destructs. Having said that, the prices on the tools are good.

I went to this store to buy a gun safe they have. They keep all the large items in a warehouse 1/2 mile away. They appeared to have plenty of people working, but the manager refused to send anyone to go get the safe. Im not sure how they expect to sell anything if they dont have it at the store and wont go get it.

New Store and employees are great. The parking lot is the issue. There is not enough parking spaces for the types of businesses in the complex. The parking was much easier back at the old small Newark store.

Great Experience! You can’t beat their prices. I stopped in to buy a log splitter on my way out of town. A manager jumped into his car and went with me to the warehouse so that I could get it right away.

This location has been open for awhile but recently merged with the old Newark location (thats now closed). Very well organized, clean, much easier to park, safer location, very friendly staff.

They dont have EVERYTHING, but you can find some really amazing deals here. Sometimes its unbelievable how cheap some of the tools are priced here. Staff is very helpful.

Vast selection of low end imported tools. For very light use, they are ok and do the job. You get what you paid for. Parking is a problem in this center.

You get what you pay for in tools but overall the tools here are OK and I have a set of wrenches in my tool bag that are are still going strong

The place is small BUT its still a very handy dandy store. Prices are ridiculously cheap. They are constantly having sales!
