Horrible experience from the get go. After only having a short period of being able to enjoy my new car, I quickly started to have issue after issue. When driving my car would shake at highway speeds and when braking, something that was hard to tell from just two quick test drives. Turns out my rotors were warped and needed to be replaced. Luckily, that was under warranty. But right after my short 30 day warranty ended, the check engine light came one and when I was able to diagnose it at the shop the repair estimate came out to around $1,500, not even two months after purchasing the car! About 10 things needed to be replaced, most of which were on the inspection checklist they give you before buying the car, and they expected me to cover that whole cost anyways. Only after talking to multiple different people at Carmax I was able to get a hold of the shop manager, who finally understood my issues with their service and covered the cost of the repairs. Even this was long and dragged out, with extensive communication issues and each employee could not get the story straight about when the parts were coming, when the car would be fixed, etc. Finally I got my car back and its been driving fine with the exception of the plastic undercover of the car being loose and missing screws/clips, something that again should have been caught in the inspection process. This was my first experience with Carmax...I dont think Ill ever go through Carmax again, but I know 100% Ill never go to Fremont Carmax again.

Outstanding customer service! I bought my car at Carmax last year without their extended warranty. My check engine light was on and I urgently needed the car so I gave Carmax a call and they got me an appointment within 30 minutes while the dealers didnt have anything for two days. The code scan is less than half than at other places, and Carmax ended up not charging me at all because it did not take long. It turned out to be an emissions problem and had to be fixed by the dealer under the EPA mandated 8 year warranty on major emissions control components. Branda was very friendly and helpful during the entire process and even called the dealer to help me have it all covered under the manufacturers emissions warranty, although I have no carmax warranty of any sort. Thank you Branda, my experience could not have been any better!

I made an appointment 2 days ago. I arrived at the store on time. The first receptionist even forgot to check me in when I got there. After 10 minutes, the second receptionist checked me in. The appointment I made was with Stephanie, but I waited there for another 20 mins and she never showed up. Then I had to ask the third receptionist what was going on, and the he said "we are working on it". Seems they had hard time finding Stephanie. I was asked to sit besides a desk and wait for a couple more minutes. Then another representative came and asked me to move and sit to another place, as if I sat at the wrong place. I was too pissed off and left the store immediately. I dont know whats the point of having the appointment system if I have to wait for so long even with an appointment. Completely waste of my time.

I came here to get a car appraised so thats what Im rating this place for. First of all, its a big place. Gives off that nice premium feel. But make no mistake, this is not your BMW or Audi dealer, you wont find free juice and ten varietals of coffee in their break room. They do have one kind of free coffee and its not half bad. Anyway, in terms of their appraisal service, the man who helped me is very friendly and transparent. He gave a good walkthrough of their process. The appraisal itself includes two offers. One from CarMax and another from Kelly Bluebook. Kellys offer is about half of CarMax. And the CarMax offer is about half of what I can sell it for personally. If you hate hassle, take their offer and get your cash. If you dont mind posting on Craigslist, do that and I guarantee you will get more.

Went in for service within the first week of them being open and I was extremely impressed! The Customer Advisor, Shawn F., was friendly, professional, and personable. He even printed out a coloring page for my son. :) I was in and out within an hour - and they provided an exterior wash. To make my visit even better, they comped my service - I was completely shocked and grateful for that! Will definitely return to this location for service, or to sell/buy a new vehicle at some point!

I bought a Subaru here in June and the transmission blew within the first week. This didnt bother me because they were going to fix it under the 30-day warranty and their customer service has been great. Their car service, however, is horrible. They have had my car for a month and I still am not getting clear answers on when it will be fixed. I specifically needed it for a camping weekend that it wont be ready for. I would NOT recommend you bring your car here for service.
