Bought a lot of stuff here over the years. Some items I purchased within the last couple of months they wouldnt even give me an offer to buy it back. The FFL here doesnt buy or sell pistols and when recent gun laws were being petitioned they refused to even join the petition. If youre going to be an FFL and sell long arms but you wont help your local citizens stand up for their rights why even bother being a firearms dealer. Theyre just in it for the money and it seems like this pawn shop only cares about cash and not so much their customers. Ive witness them turn down customers bringing in nicer items to sell and they offer next to nothing and lose business when the customer walks out, like I said happen to me as well and others have mentioned. I went down to Bobs pawn in southern Eureka by Les Schwab and got way better prices on items and more money selling my stuff. They seem like they care a bit more about their customers and will actually hold a conversation with them. I wont be bringing my business or recommending anyone I know to do business with Humboldt pawn.

6/12/13 AWESOME SALES GUY I totally dont remember our sales guys name but I wish I did. Younger, kinda cute, tattoos maybe? I cant remember... Not only did he get us a good price on jewelry (necklace for me) and a watch for husband (who forgot to pack one, and heaven forbid his wrist be naked a couple of days!), but Mr. Friendly Sales Rep also answered our touristy questions. As passerbys just driving through town, we had seen this place the night before after checking in to our hotel but they were already closed. After a night at the casino we decided to drop in before finding breakfast and moving on our way. He suggested eating on the pier in Trinidad, about half an hour away. That was the best advice we received on the trip! The store itself is large and seems pretty well-organized. A good variety of items! It was really fun to walk around, even though we didnt stay very long. Pawn shops are pretty fun. But I leave all haggling to my husband - hes much better at it than I.

Always courteous service in this pawn shop, this is my favorite one on the North Coast. Whenever I visit there is always someone available to help me even when the store is busy. Good selection of all sorts of items and they dont try and fill their stock with a bunch of cheap (new & imported) crap like Ive seen some other pawn shops do. This is genuine pawn shop with used stuff and they have traffic in and out of there all the time, every day.

I feel that if you want to come across quality goods for an affordable price, this is the place to go. Customer service is far superior to other pawn shops in Humboldt. They have an excellent selection of merchandise as well (especially video games and movies!)
