I had a piece of art that needs to be framed by Michaels. We went to the store one night in September, paid the money and was told that the frame will be finished in two weeks. However, at the time when the frame was due, I received a call from the manager of Framing, told me that the frame was not done properly and need some re-work, and that I have to wait another two weeks. When another two weeks passed, I showed up at the store, only was told that it is not ready, and need to wait another day. When I showed up the next day, I picked the framed art (a big piece) and drove home, and only found out that the hanger at the back of the frame was not installed in the right direction. I called the store and have to wait for 6 minutes before was connected and was told to wait to be called back. Another 20 minutes passed, finally got a call back, I was told that they made a mistake and can fix it easily, but they wont guarantee that they can fix it while I am at the store, this means I may have to take two more trips to get it done !! Apparently, the folks at this Michaels store dont quite know what they are doing, from framing the frame to put the hanger at the back, extremely poor services, re-works, mistakes, and several delays. I wish I never have to come back to this store again !!!

They carry a lot of the stuff I cant find elsewhere, so I still have to come here. But the plastic bag policy and the shopping carts you cant use to get your goods to the car makes shopping here annoying. They kind of force those plastic bags on their customers. I stood there with my reusable bag, telling her about it, saying I wont need bags, lady goes on packing my stuff in the plastic bags.

Constant chaos and they seem to hire mostly people who are incompetent, granted the ones who arent know their stuff (and might even tell you a better place to get what you are looking for). For a chain craft store its okay at best but it beats going to multiple specialty stores if you are short on time. Just be prepared to overpay or to altogether not find what you are looking for.

Make sure you bring the 20% off single item coupon that is widely available online. They always have that one thing my daughter needs to complete some crafting project. Good luck with the cashier lines though, you hit that at prime time and youll be there for a while.

Kind of a mess on the shelves throughout the store, and found lots of items to be out of stock. Also, the registers never seem to be capable of moving the line along quickly (stood in the checkout line for nearly 10 minutes last time we were here).

I still have trouble with the locking up of spray paint when I can walk over to Home Depot and grab and armload off the shelf. Otherwise it a cool place and a good place for acrylic paint options and beads.

Michaels shops can be a test of patience at times, with their organization and staff. If you know what you want, and can get in and get out, it is not a bad place, but shopping can be trying at times.

Its huge, but still has a pretty horrible selection. Often cant find what I need here, and their out of stocks are way too high. Why is it I always need the item thats completely empty on the shelf?

I only ever buy one or two things when I have coupons. The rest of the time stuff is way overpriced. They do at least match JoAnns and hobby lobby coupons but only allow one of each type.
