Staff tries, however, the store is dirty and unsafe for customers as well as staff; due to Managements reluctance to address dog owner issues. Have shopped here for 15 years, and noticed staff unease regarding dogs pooping in the produce section. When I complained about the man who brought two, the Assistant Manager responded (inappropriately) that by law, they could not ask if the animal was licensed. Which didnt address the issue. When I pointed this out, the assistant manager repeated his previous, non-answer. However, as the accompanying photo demonstrates, the ADA clearly states Businesses may ask if an animal is a service animal or what tasks the animal has been trained to perform. The ADA Business Brief also clearly states therapy dogs CAN be asked to leave if the animal creates poses a direct threat to others. In this store, in addition to dogs pooping in the produce section as their owners continue chatting with friends; staff and customers also have to deal with an individual with a hair-trigger temper, who brings in two, seemingly seldom-bathed, dogs, (one having lost an eye) who are clearly not "service" animals. What creates a dangerous situation for customers and staff both, in the store, is when questioned about his dogs, the owner made threats to get his gun. Management continues to chose to ignore Both issues. So the main issue remains management refusal to address health and safety of customers as well as staff regarding dogs who poop in the store; and those with mental health issues, who stroll in with two dogs and keeps neither the dogs, or his temper, under control.

Drove into town late and needed to pick up a few staple items for the place we were staying at. The door was open and others walked right in as well. We quickly picked up some muffins and bread and milk. The milk shelf was bare and needed to be stocked. Moving down other isles we ran into an employee that said they were closing, that very second, and that we had to check out. Seriously?! We needed maybe three more things. So we went to the front and saw some things we needed in another isle, but no! We were being hassled by the cashier to get through the check out. Its not like we were pushing around a shopping cart and doing a marathon shopping spree! It was a horrible experience! Then when we walked out the first employee ran out the door, literally right behind us, and took off. I used to work at a grocery store and you would always close the doors at closing time and leave people to finish up. These guys were trying to skate out early. Needless to say, we didnt get everything we wanted and the service was poor.

Smaller, older Vons, very cramped aisles, very slow checkout. Never enough cashiers open, they dont honor the "Threes a Crowd" policy here or the other 2 local VONS in Del Mar and Torrey Hills. The only people giving this place 4 or 5 stars at employees/manager. Came here 2/9/17 at 6 p.m. and 2 registers open with 9 people on each line. Just walked out.

I lost my wallet on the counter when I was checking out, with all kinds of credit cards, debit cards and a few hundred dollars cash. The staff here was so nice to save my wallet and everything! Thank you very very much! I really deeply appreciated you guys! :D!!

This is my local goto vons. It is small, but has alot. The staff is caring and will help direct you if you need help. There are plenty of good deals here however the vegtable and herb selection is a bit limited.

Small store, good for essentials but do big shopping elsewhere. Shelves often need restocking, especially the milk & eggs. Dont buy "manager special" meats unless youre going to cook them same day.

Locals call it "Getto Vons". Its best attribute is its west of the 5 location. Limited selection, cramped and crowded feel, frequently checking out isnt seamless. Otherwise, its great!

Deli is slow and three to four staff are usually standing around not assisting customers just talking among themselves. Staff on break shouldnt hang out by the deli, its confusing.

They never have sufficient staff to service the customers needs. I only go there if I have no other choice.
