Found out about Meritage Auto Repair by accident several years ago. Wished I had found them sooner! Got tired of the dealership "recommending" unneeded service just to make up for their low profit margin on new car sales. I heard a brake squeal one day when I happened to be driving through Auburn. Stopped in and Ray dropped what he was doing and came out and test drove the car, "youre fine, I think it was some debris on the disc, If it continues bring it back and well take a look" No charge. I repeat NO CHARGE. Anywhere else they would be saying that I was driving a death trap and that unless I replaced the pads, re surfaced the rotors ( if they could be resurfaced , if not then they would need replacement) I would surely die in a fiery crash, Oh and by the way it would be about 500.00 to get it fixed. Again, NO CHARGE. "If it continues bring it back , and well take a look, but I dont think you have anything to worry about" Think you would hear that from the dealership? Again same scenario with power steering pump noise, "have us look at it when you bring it in for your next oil change, I think it may need to be flushed or the level topped up, maybe you have a leak, but its safe to drive now". I dont know about you, but before I always felt like a sheep at shearing season when I had my car in for service ( and I trained as a mechanic while in school!, God help how Id feel if I didnt know something about cars.....) After having my car screwed up by the dealership ( when I thought I HAD to take it to the dealership for warranty work), no, no more. No more shabby, overpriced work. Take it to Ray at Meritage. You may have to spend some money to get it fixed, but at least you will know: 1) It was done right 2) It was needed in the first place and 3) You were given an option, what to fix first if you cant afford the time or money to do it all at once. Just my 0.02 worth. Oh, by the way they specialize in European cars but that doesnt keep me from taking in my Chrysler minivan or full size GMC van. Ive recommended Ray and Meritage Motors to several friends and have been pleased to know that their experience has been similar to mine.

I have a 2014 Nissan Versa Note that I take to the dealership for all of my servicing needs because it is under warranty. Less than a year ago, I purchased new tires and every time I take it to the dealership they say in the paperwork they balance and rotate my tires. My tire warning light came on so I took it to the place where I had purchased the tires. They told me my tires were worn and had not been balanced or rotated and I needed new tires. I could not believe it! I knew someone was not telling the entire truth, either the dealership or the tire place. I was in a panic as I am a single mom on a tight budget and could not afford new tires. I stumbled upon Meritage after leaving the tire shop and spoke with the owner Ray. He was so great. He stopped what he was doing and came out to inspect my tires. He told me my tires were in great condition and even showed me how he could tell the tires had been balanced and rotated. I was so grateful for Rays help and I couldnt believe he didnt charge me, even after I insisted I pay him for his time. I found out that they can work on vehicles that are under warranty from the dealership, so I have began taking my car to be serviced at Meritage. Every time I leave, I leave with peace of mind...and I know that that is a rare thing when dealing with an auto shop. I am so thankful for stumbling upon Meritage and will never take my car anywhere else!

I recently just bought 06 M6 from a private party and the car is out of state and wanted to find out first if anything major that needed to be repair and make sure that I’m getting the best deal. I was searching around who knows and deal with this high end cars daily I didn’t want to take it to the dealer and you know how much they charge. So I search around the web and find out about this shop and have read all the review from previous customers and all are good reviews about the shop so I gave it a try. I called and Ray answer the phone and I explain to him what I wanted and needed to be done before I go ahead and make the purchase so I set up an appointment real quick and easy! and friendly too and he know about the M6 very well. Long story short took the car had a full inspection from engine to chassis to brake to make sure nothing is wrong with the car. Few hrs later he called me up and gave me a thumbs up that engine is in a good condition and the only thing wrong is that the brakes and rotor needed to be replace and show me the spec of what is left. He wrote everything down what he check and I was amaze that he took his time inspecting the car. So I go ahead and have him replaced all the stuff that needed to be repair and all parts that he se was all OEM and cost me very little on parts and labor. Ray would be my repair guy forever. Ray and all the staff at Meritage were/are great to work with. I purchased a BMW for my daughter and received Exceptional service. It was definitely worth the beautiful drive from Elk Grove to Auburn. Ray is very friendly and knowledgeable, and made the process a real treat! We got a great deal (way under blue book) and my daughter really learned a lot from the purchasing experience; she thought Ray was extremely informative and very pleasant to work with. She is now enjoying her new ride while away at college. I look forward to a long-lasting business relationship with Meritage Auto due to their great service and the fact that they offer such a nice selection of luxury vehicles at awesome prices and affordable auto repair to help maintain the vehicle. To no surprise, I am currently eyeing another Meritage auto that hopefully will present another great deal that will be too good to pass up... After being disrespected and overcharged by my previous mechanic I was blessed and extremely lucky to find Ray and his wonderful shops.I have brought two of my cars to Ray and he was 1/2 the price of my old mechanic and at lease twice as good. I had thousands of dollars of work and was very happy with the service I had on my VW Jetta and Ford Expedition. Ray has the best shops in Auburn. Unfortunately I no longer have my Jetta but Ray gave me great advise on buying my new car even though he know the car he advised me to get was not european. I will go to his other shop with my new car and hope to see Ray at his other shop when I go. He always talks to his costumers and talks the time to be personable. If you want a great mechanic with great prices and great customer service with a smile I would only recommend Meritage in Auburn as I have and nothing but great service at both shops. Thank you guys very much!
