My experience at Safeway Aptos is and always has been horrendous. There has never been enoug checkers and those Checkers that you have are slow except for a few who I tried to get online with but sometimes it doesnt happen that way. Today we were in line at the express lane a woman had items from the bulk grains and did not get the numbers for each of the three items. The checker look for the book several times really did nothing else but look to the book and couldnt not find the numbers to her bulk items. The Checker made us stand in line for over 10 minutes while he checked through the book for the numbers of the items. He still could not find them so I spoke up and said well why dont you go back and get the numbers to those items and so we can get through. The customer got indignant and rude to me as if we had all day for her to stand there and look through a book instead of going back and getting the numbers to expedite the line. Finally she just decided not to get the items and still was indignant and rude. This is always a problem at this Safeway in Aptos California Never Never he left Checkers at the store. Not to mention the parking lot is just too small to support our community here in Aptos especially during Peak tourist season. Soon there is a new Leaf Market going in the Aptos Village area if things dont change at Safeway Aptos you will lose many customers. As it is I find out where to go in unless the convenience of Safeway in my neighborhood is that my best interest. Eventually this Safeway will disappear because of lack of business and I know this because I speak to other customers while we wait in line and they always say this is the worst Safeway they have ever been to I feel things need to change in order to keep this Safeway afloat. In fact the attitude towards people like myself who speak up very poor and also tend to ignore me. I am a very friendly person but the situation at Safeway Aptos is not only my concern but many others and Im not one to be quiet about it. I hope to see some changes because as a consumer and as a person that shops at Safeway Aptos for many years I will have no trouble in the very near future to stop shopping at Safeway Aptos Thank you Michael Bardo

I hit this place on the way home from work almost every other day during the week to pick up some wine, milk or bread and its always the same sad story; not enough checkers and lines so long you just shake your head and somberly get in at the end. Most of the checkers are nice enough to ask you how your day is or if you found everything you were looking for, but there are a couple who seem to be just going slowly through the motions. Like no matter how fast or slow they go they feel like the line will never end so they might just as well go at their own pace. Im not the kind of customer who needs his hand held or needs to be made to feel welcome. All I want is for the checkers to check me and everyone else out with a little sense of urgency. If youre going to do something, for Petes sake do it well! Be good at your job! Its a lot more fun that way and people will appreciate your skill. Otherwise, youre just being miserable and making others miserable around you. Dont get me started on the parking lot! Oh my God! Anyway, I need to stop making this store a regular stop. Im just being a co-dependent to this sad, depressing little store.

Th overnight crew are always making you feel like youre totally interrupting their night when youre ready to check out. Tonight, I think EVERY staff member on th sales floor was wearing earphones or something because I practically had to yell "EXCUSE ME!" while standing about 1foot away from them to get their attention just so someone could be called to ring me up. I actually gave up trying to get th attention of th first employee I approached because Id already hollered "Excuse Me!" at him about 6times &he didnt even flinch, let alone turn around and/or acknowledge me (&hed been extremely rude on a previous visit) so I had to walk clear across th store to find someone else to holler at just to call up a checker. Ridiculous. Once someone wz paged, he ran up really quick which wz refreshing but by th time all wz said&done th only thing I wz purchasing - ice cream - wz already melting so much I almost decided to swap it out. I didnt only because I already felt unwelcome there &I just wanted to get out of that dreadful grocery store. A pathetic excuse for sales team. Super UNHELPFUL.

While their departments are quite decent and their stocking is definitely on-par, the staff are mistreated often. Upon my most recent visit, the woman checking out my items was very somber, and looked at me angrily when I told her that I did not need a bag. Many staff have similar looks around the store, and an acquaintance of mine was employed for a mere month before quitting due to this fact. Beyond this, their store is obviously quite clean and enjoyable to roam. Many employees seem to keep busy, and though the parking lot is an absolute mess, the on-site gas station seems to do everything they can to stay clean and up to code. My word of advice is this: do not visit Safeways gas station on a weekend, and do not expect that the staff here will be all smiles.

We have been shopping at the Aptos Safeway for 20 years, but no more. It used to feel like a neighborhood store, with friendly people who greeted and welcomed you to their store. Things have changed, and not for the better. There arent enough checkers so usually the lines are long. Also the checkers just seem to be going through the motions until their shift is over. The aisles are hard to maneuver with stacked boxes and displays. Some shelves are empty, usually the most popular items, and no one seems to know when they will be restocked. The manager, Dan, seems more interested in intimidating and embarrassing customers than being helpful and polite. After 20 years, sorry to say, we will be taking our business to Nob Hill and Deluxe Foods.

Beautiful, big store. The shopping carts are in a weird location on the side of the door behind a wall, and when i could not find them the two employees could not seem to help me either. A nice regular customer showed me the secret stash. Store is so big you almost need a staff member to direct you if your new. Manager was Simi friendly. It took him about a minute to acknowledge me at the counter even though I was in front of him. When I joked about needing assistance because it was a big store he said you should try being the manager with a friendly smile.

Weve been to this gas station several times but I think this one is the last seems like when we come something is out of order either half of the pumps or now its the air. Im disabled I cannot just bounce around from one place to the other looking for someone who keeps their equipment in good working order. I do not recommend this place at all, you will be disappointed .
