This isnt the worst grocery store out there; some things actually stand out. You can get a pretty good sandwich in their deli department, and theres a good selection of new items for sale just as theyre released. I can find new flavors of cereal and ice creams here...stuff like that. The glaring flaw with this store is the massive amounts of expired stock that you WILL encounter on every single trip here. Checking the expiration dates on your food is a good practice, but when you shop at the Vons on west Lincoln its an absolute necessity. The produce department is below average at best. Theres been times when nearly every variety of tomato was nasty and beginning to rot. The only place Ive seen more little flies was at the Whole Foods in Tustin. Selection is difficult because half the stuff is decomposing. The staff here are all cool, friendly people that are more then willing to assist you - no problems there. The main issue is that freshness isnt a priority in this Vons location. If it werent for the fact that I live so close, and gas costs so much, Id likely choose another grocery store for my shopping needs. This could be a better store if theyd rotate the stock.

Nice store inside. Typical Vons. Parking lot can use some TLC since each row is a one-way depending on direction but I still see some idiots going the opposite way not paying attention. If they can make each row a duel sided parking lot then it would be way more efficient to park here. But I agree with everyone on here who has a problem with the shortage of cashiers. Im always seeing one or two open when the lines start piling up and no extra help is anywhere. Normally I would bring that to the managers attention but Im usually only here in a blue moon to grab needed items rather than wait till I get home which 6 miles away. Kill two birds with one stone. And also dont care much for the winos outside lounging around. Just makes the area more intimidating and less desirable to shop at especially when they leave their trash all over the place.

I went in for a few things during my lunch hour. The checker was in such a rush, that she didnt hear me when I said here is the change, instead she did something to make the change come out automatically, because she was in such a rush. Then I said I have the change, and she said very abruptly that just make a dollar out of the change, and Ill give you 2 dollars back. Well she said it so fast I didnt understand. I told her Im not understanding, and she said youre not listening. This is why this Vons is going downhill. I dont normally shop at this Vons and I leave within walking distance of this Vons. Theyre so rude, they dont want anyone bothering them. They want to Herd you out on your way, so they can continue their personal conversations. Unfortunate.

NICE FALLBACK - I actually find this Vons quite useful in that they have a decent selection of Certified Organic produce & some products, and are closer to my house & have later hours than Whole Foods & Jimbos (where I do most of my shopping). It is nice to be able to get something I need or forgot & get it organic even if its after 9 or 10, & not have to drive as far to get it too. Negatives: I was slightly inconvenienced on thanksgiving day when their phone recording stated they were open till 7pm only to get there @ 6:08 & see a sign on the door stating they closed at 6:00pm :-( It was ok though, the 24hr CVS down the street got my business instead, having the emergency blender & firewood I needed, and for a little cheaper too. :-)

Speaking of the Vons in Anaheim on Lincoln Blvd. Nice people working there mostly. A few seem to be going through the motions. They didnt have a huge selection of bread when I went. This location has limited bakery items. Hot food from the deli was so so (might have been there a while). The store is clean and safe to shop in, not overly busy. They have a decent selection of organic produce and dairy products. We shop here whenever we vacation in Anaheim (getting main staples from Costco and supplementing cheese, produce, and a few other items from this store). I marked off for some of the staff and limited selections on certain items, but I still shop here and will continue to do so.

My wife and I stop by this place randomly in the middle of the day to get groceries we may need for dinner. After todays visit Ill have to go somewhere else. Some employees in front fixing a light almost hit us with the latter, judging by the profanity we heard as passing by the seemed more focused on expressing how they in subordinate to the manager. Wow. I had my kids us. You dont like your job then quit.. every corner I turn all I hear is profanity from employees. I dont get greeted, no help from anyone. I try to give them a chance by going back but its always the same..

Worse choice for a lunch break. I spent 15 minutes in line as there were only two registers open. No one would open another although the cashier kept calling for help. There were people being allowed to carry full carts of food to the express lanes. Some lady three transactions in front of me needed multiple price checks, yet they didnt once ask her to stand aside. Long story short, I had to leave all my items on the conveyor belt without being able to be a decent human to return them because I had to get back to work. I dont get to eat until after 6 PM today.

Clean store. Great deals on lots of things daily, however sometimes the deals arent really deals, for example 2 for $5 on chips isnt really that great if individually theyre $2.50, which is just a gimmick to get you to spend more money. Has a lot of parking. Still a great grocery store if you live nearby but Id rather shop at Ralphs any day.

8:30am - I went in only to buy a bottle of kombucha and a muffin from the bakery. There was only one checkstand open and at least 8 people in line. The cashier repeatedly called for support, but none came. At least 2 other employees just stood around and watched this cashier struggle with scanning items and bagging.

There arent very many options for grocery shopping around this area. Vons for the most part is one of the most expensive grocery stores. Some of the staff are cool but for the most part they are unfriendly and slow. There are always long lines and no rush for anyone to get you out in a timely manner.

Rude people horrible people skills! I went at midnight to buy balloons for my daughters birthday and the douche bag at the register couldnt leave his post to blow up some balloons. Great customer service, NOT! ! ! Rather take my business to staters!

Apathetic staff and rundown fixtures and coolers. Expired products left on shelves and even in the meats. Every other grocery store in this area has been updated with new services and amenities while this one hasnt changed very much at all for years.
