The people at the Speedway store were beyond helpful, and actually saved my butt at no small expense to themselves. I live in Hawaii, where everything is more expensive and the bike I was shopping for is impossible to find at a reasonable price. I became interested in purchasing a high-end Scott Spark 10 bike from an individual living in Tucson, and because I couldnt inspect it myself, I called around and selected Performance Bike to do a detailed survey on the bike as well as pack and ship it to Hawaii if I chose to buy it. The bike passed inspection, and on their recommendation, I opted to correct some minor defects before shipping. I have my own Fedex account and forwarded a prepaid airbill to Performance Bike, and a certified check to the seller. Performance Bike acted as the intermediary and shipped the bike when the seller released it. We should have been done at that time, but the seller diverted the Fedex shipment from the bike shop back to his home address (claiming he was the shipper and there was a "product recall"). Performance Bike intervened, diverting the Fedex shipment back to the store, where they reshipped it to me at their own expense ($150)- which was more than I spent with them in total. This is a shop staffed with great people that love bikes and care more about making the customer happy than making the most profit.

Prices are somewhat outrageous but ya know they are a PERFORMANCE bicycle shop so expect to spend a LOT of money, unless you have a crappy wal-mart bike (EXEMPT GMC DENALI BECAUSE IT REALLY DOES GO BEYOND A DEPARTMENT STORE BIKES EXPECTATIONS) anywho, they have excellent customer service, they let me change my wheels in the store and helped me air them up ( I had a scott mountain bike and I converted it to a hybrid by putting road wheels on it) the new black service guy (I cant remember his name) didnt have a single problem letting me borrow tools and everything to fix up my bike. They are really great here so I dont understand why such negative reviews, I like this place and I plan on going there again to get my tires aired up and to get new pedals put on my bike (FOR FREE) so for all you low-star people I dont know what your issue is but this place rocks!

This is my first review of anything ever.. I went in the store today for a simple flat tire repair and came out amazed. Ive been here a few times and had a good experience every time but today was even more so. Took my bike to the back for a repair and the man working quickly took apart my bike tire and found my rim had some minor contact points that werent suppose to be there. He shaved them down quickly and started putting on the tube when a phone call came in. He was on the phone for maybe 4 minutes and finished my tire change. All in all I was there ten minutes and he waived the service cost because of a simple phone call helping another costumer. Never going to any other place again.

I had an issue with a flat bicycle tire on bicycle I didnt even buy at Performance Bicycle and I didnt have the equipment to fix the problem. So I walked my trusured yet limping bicycle into Performance Bicycle exactly 3 minutes before the shop was scheduled to close. I was desperate. I didnt have a ton of money on me. I needed to get home on my bike... Not only did the gentleman who was working at Performance fix my flat AFTER closing time, but the guy told me a thing or two about how to avoid potential future problems with my new bike. Peformace went the extra mile for me and they didnt charge me a penny... Thanks Performance Bicycle!

If you go to Performance Bikes make sure you ask for Brek!!! He spent two days assisting us with new bike recommendations, called different stores, looked for special orders, etc.....he totally went above and beyond for me and my wife who are new to the sport. There was never any pressure and he welcomed all questions with a positive attitude and sincere concern. We also were able to enjoy the once a year triple point weekend which will allow us to purchase our shoes and other accessories with the rewards points we earned this weekend. A little bit out of the way from our side of town but well worth the trip thanks to Brek!!

I would like to take the time and give a BIG "shout out" for the staff at the Speedway Performance in Tucson. they were very supportive in my quest to find a replacement bike for my 2 year old stolen GT bike. they were able to locate a suitable replacement at an incredible price. I am very happy to get started today for many years of riding my new bike. thanks in particular to Margarita who went above and beyond what would be expected from a bike staff. THANKS! thanks to the boys in the back for their support and assistance. thanks to John for his help, also. life will be GREAT with a new bike.

Great shop, great people, okay prices. The main reason they dont get 5 stars is that they have "winter hours " in Tucson, a year-round biking city! And they dont mention that on the website. Apparently, most of their clientele is affluent enough that they can take a day off to have their bike worked on. Clerk on the phone wasnt very sympathetic about how winter hours made it impossible for me to bring in bike for repair because I had to work.

We walked in and no one said a single thing to us. We were going to spend $100 or more there but they refused to admit that we were even inside the building. My husband was trying to ask a question but the guy ignored him. Finally, he gave up and went to pay for the one item when the cashier walked away like my husband didnt exist. Only step foot in this place if you look 100% like the biking type and look like you have a lot of money.

Horrible service and false advertisement. My husband went in and bought a puncture resistant tube for his bike. When he put it on his bike, not even a day later his tires went flat from a half inch long goat head, which would not touch the tubes on my bike(bought from a different store and a better brand). Then when asked if they do tire repair we were told that they do not repair tires and the representatives were rude to us.

Check it all before you walk out the door - I bought a sealed bearing headset here, but when I got home found that the $30 sealed bearings had been swapped out for fifty cent caged bearings that wouldnt even have worked in the headset if Id installed it. Performance accepted the return, but my new build would have been completely messed up if I had used what theyd given me. And I would have been out $30.

Nice sales staff, but the shop is below average - twice Ive had flat tires fixed that they didnt remove the thorns on the inside of the tire, so it goes flat again within a day - one of those times the manager got upset that I wouldnt pay for the tube. They have lost track of the schedule on my bike, so Ive gone in after four days and it wasnt ready - just poorly run. I have stopped using them.
