I have made some awesome finds here, including an amazing American flag that is canvas with older looking colors (beige and maroon for the stripes) for $10. I hang it with pride all the time. You never know what treasures youll find at a thrift store, but for the most part the things from D.I. are smoke free (since most donations come from LDS Church members). I have volunteered at D.I. three times in the past. One time they had too many clothes. We were told to take every third item off the rack, whatever it was, and they shipped the clothing to countries in need. Another time we did a similar thing with the clothes that were freshly donated. All the clothes that had a few too many holes (but were still functional) were put in a pile to send to developing countries. Only a few clothes were discarded for being so ragged that they were unusable. Almost nothing went to waste. It was a really great experience. Ive been to this store, at least a dozen times and have always been treated kindly by the staff. Obviously the reviewer who mentioned the rude staff was out looking to be offended, and took any hint at not being served like he was some big shot at Dillards as a reason to say the "staff is very rude."

Deseret Industries is a Mormon owned thrift store. The staff is very rude and most items are more expensive than you would find at other nearby thrift stores such as Goodwill. Additionally, all profits made are used for LDS programs which include anti-gay funding as well as abstinence only sex education for countries all over the world. Although Deseret Industries does employ individuals with disabilities, these employees must first contact a local bishop for his approval, which allows LDS members to get preference over nonmembers. Please, do not shop here.

The first review is a far away from the truth as possible, the employees were extraordinarily sweet and helpful, and their profits help support their church and the Tucson community. And as for the clothes, the selection is outstanding - neatly organized and perfectly priced. The clothes average a four dollar price, the shoes vary - but thats expected. Deserect Industries, unlike thrift stores near by (example: Savers) keep the store clean, no dust and trash on the floor, and the staff ensures that the dressing rooms are clear for the next customer.

While prices may be a little higher than that of Goodwill or other local thrift stores, Deseret Industries takes pride in making their stores clean and well organized for a pleasant shopping experience. DI is a stepping block for employees who are training and learning the skills necessary for other employment. I love shopping and donating at DI and encourage others to patronize this store as well as the many other thrift stores in Tucson that aid in assisting others.

I visited 5 tucson thrift stores, this store was the cleanest, and had the fastest check out with genuinely pleasant attitude employees. (They were not complaining about covering halloween hours) And the store didnt smell like the previous clothing owners cig smoke... Price for shirt and shoes was comparable

Went in a few times, but started noticing that the workers were getting the good items. One worker bought five unopened disney movies that came in that same day and never made it on to floor.

Love coming here. Excellent quality of clothing and end up bringing home a large quantity for a reasonable price (unlike Goodwill)
