I like going to the gaming zone because I can go there and hang out with people that play video games as much as I do. The owners r very nice and fair and friendly. Ever since they came into my part of town I can go and have fun. The games that they sell bring back so many different memorys. I can look at the retro games and remember when me and my cousins would sit down and play nes for hours on end. I love the arcade games because everyone can say oh i bet that when it was in the arcade but I have played mortal kombat and cant get past goro. I have also played mario bro. arcade and cant get past world 4 but they r so fun i keep going back and try to get past the parts i cant. All of the arcade games that they have there are only 25 cents to play. The game lounge that they have is great because when you go in there it is like a gamers home away from home. I also like how they go back to the nes games because alot of people forgot what it was like to play those games but I have not forgotten.

This is the best place for video games in the valley for several reasons. First off, they work hard to keep their shelves stocked full of good games. A lot of stores just rely on random trades, and eventually become barren deserts of bad games. These guys on the other hand understand the importance of having games that you actually want to buy. Second, you can rent a game in the game lounge, so even if you dont have the money to buy something you can still have a lot of fun. This is important for broke kids, and people who like to try before they buy. Lastly, these guys have a Neo Geo MAME, which lets you play hundreds of awesome arcade games. Edit: Oh yeah, they also are very good at keeping their games in alphabetical order. Nothing is more annoying than going into a game shop and not being able to find what you are looking for under the piles of games.

The staff arent just employees, theyre gamers. I speak for the retro gaming community when i say that, there are many stores out there that sell retro games and consoles, but, the GAMING ZONE sets themselves apart from the rest by offering in-lobby arcade games, beverages, a lounge where you can play almost anything, and they host local tournaments and events regularly. I prefer to do business in a store with this kind of environment, where the employees dont just see a game with a dollar sign on it, but can also make suggestions of other games you might like along those same lines, they wont hassle you, talk down to you, its a family friendly venue run by professional, college educated, businessmen, that should be wearing a large t-shirt and give up on that medium.

Alejandro and Jorge both are very hard working people in their endeavors to be a place for gamers new and old to buy, trade, rent, hang out, and even more. They have a bevy of games going from the NES all the way to Wii U. They also help local artists with their brand by selling their products in-store and having them make the murals and stickers on the wall behind the counter and on the desk. They are very friendly and always try and make sure all their customers are well taken care of. Also they help the competitive scene as well, holding Halo 4, Smash Bros., and even Playstation All Stars tournaments almost every weekend. I extremely recommend this place as a hangout and a store for gamers, where they arent copped for trade ins or rental hours. Edit: Jorge

Went there after seeing them on Craigslist: almost a nonexistent selection of video games, and prices are generally higher on the twenty games they did have than other game stores in Phoenix. The staff were a bit stand-offish when I visited (though I suppose people have their bad days), and I was not a fan of the setup, and a lack of any real return policy on stuff (exchange only) is a real bummer. Honestly wouldnt even call them a Video Game Store as most Pawn Shops and Thirft Stores have a better selection. Really just a place to play games if you dont mind BO from the other patrons. Dont think Id shop there again. Also copied their name from Game Zone which is just rude.

To be honest i had a great time at The Gaming Zone, i saw their ad on craigslist and i went there to give it a try and check them out, all i have to say is that they greeted me and treated me really nice i had an amazing time playing arcades, they recently got the classic house of the dead for 25 cents, i poured over 5 dlls trying to beat it. All i have to say overall is that it has quite a good selection of old retro games and a few new ones and their prices are very fair, i ended up buying a nintendo 64 and gave me a discount on mario kart 64 for the promotion they have going on. They are a new store bringing something different that no one has in the area

What I love the most about GZ are the selection of titles and people. Very down to earth and honest staff who can give you their professional opinion and own personal opinion on everything. The stock is constantly changing and theres always something new to check out. Pricing is in fact up to date and competitive with Ebay and Gamestop. And the fact that I can try out almost any non-sealed title in the game lounge really gives me the impression that GZ goes above and beyond. Great job guys!

Went to the store after looking for a good gaming place, this place is the best in town. The staff is great, they have great character, liked the variety of games they have to play in the gaming lounge. This place reminded me of my young years with the classic arcades. This will defenetly be my gaming store for as long as i am a gamer. gust had to let all you folks know that you will NEVER REGRET GOING TO THE GAMING ZONE, recomended 100%.

The Gaming Zone is one of those rare places that combines old school mom and pop family feel business with knowledgeable experts and a first rate set up. They make their own 64 controllers with more durable parts. A no brainier of a first purchase. Great place! My wife bought a couple x box games at a very reasonable price and now shes eyeing a PS2 console they have for sale their too...

I have enjoyed every visit to this place and have always found something. Stock and prices are very hit and miss but it is a small store and for what they have, its worth a visit. They even have repro carts and tool sets for taking apart our old games. I dont really go for the arcade experience but it is a sweet setup as well. Worth checking out, you may find something you need.

This place is super cool you can go buy old and new games, go play in the back some old school or new generation games 1 hour for 3 bucks, they have tournaments Saturdays and if you just want to trade your games for store credit or cash they are fair on his prices and deals, hopefully you check it out soon.
