I have been to this location a few times before. Its usually cramped, smelly, and dirty. My daughter likes to play in the kid play area but its so filthy I cringe to let her. At my last visit, I went in to get shoes for my daughter, trying to save money on shoes for her. I bought three pairs and used a $5 off "any purchase" coupon. When I got home, I tested them on her, but one pair dug in her feet and she cried when I tried getting them on her. Naturally I wanted to return them. I got out the receipt and noticed they did something tricky by doing a percentage off each item not $5. My husband tried returning them or at least trying to get store credit for the face value (since we could have just gotten a five dollar item with the coupon, nor multiple items). They would only refund the amount on the receipt and had three employees standing at the front arguing with him it was "store policy" when he tried to explain that the coupon was a dollar amount off the bill, and did not mention other conditions. Instead of providing customer service, they gave him dirty looks and no further assistance. I wrote the company through the email online and was told it would be passed on to the store owner but I never heard any apology or response from them. Never planning to go there again. **Update: A few days after posting this, I received a letter apologizing and stating the store is under new management. A $5 off coupon. Not sure if I will use it but I am glad they finally did reply.

I do like the store because things r just too expensive now adaya and stores like this and other mothers make it a lil better by allowing u to resell the items ur kids grew out of too fast or just didnt like or never used. Y waste money when one kids trash is another treasure. If u dont like it someone will... However, I agree with the prevouse comment about how picky they are because I brought clothes for winter duringwi,yet season and I specifically went through all my stuff n made sure there was not any holes or stains, and there outfits were complete., and was very disappointed when I returned that they took prob 15_20 pieces and I only got 14$, instantly I went shopping and baught one pants and one long sleeve shirt n spent 12$ N the short was clearances. So how is it fair that u prob only gave that poor mom 1$ for the outfit I paid 12$ for. Also while searching the store they say they only take good newer items but all of the bins of shoes r nasty. Older, none I saw were near n gently used. Not all the people who come in to shop r looking for a gently used item. They might want a cheap pair of tennies to go to the lake, u not open up to more possibilities of puricing things that r not only brand new, n just dont charge as much for them 1$ shoe Tuesdays. Where ppl can get cheap shoes and clothing if they dont need the newer look. After all it is a second hand store.

Ive been to this location a hand full of times and Ive sold. The times that Ive been there they always want to low ball me on prices . Im not expecting to get a lot but it seems as if their so picky for example brand name . Ive brought brand name clothing and I have gotten complements about the clothes , which is nice of them . But this time I took 2 bags of clothes boys and a few books . They made me feel like I got my clothes at the second hand store . The jeans I took are stone wash they already come that way DUH!!!! And they only wanted to give me $5 on a pair of jeans and another pair of pants Nike !!! I was like WHAT !!!! Nope I rather sell my stuff on a swap page and get a lot more then what this store will ever give . I simply dont have any room to store clothes or the time to have a yard sale . I wont go back to this store or any other Worthless !!!!

This has been the WORST experience i have ever been thru!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME IN THIS PLACE!!! I went in to sell over 100 pieces of Newborn- 6 month Clothes and I was so excited to sell them and try a new experience. I went back in to collect and they only bought 2 things!!! Their excuse was that they werent buying socks, hats, and "fall stuff." So they wouldnt accept my child pajamas? Like really? I dont think they even looked thru all my stuff!!! Dont encourage someone to come sell if your going to have such horrible customer service!!! Also you need to be more specific on your website about what your "buying" so people dont waste their time in your dirty  horrid smelling stores!!!! I will never ever go back again!!!!!

Slow horrid service. Took the time to drive all the way out to this location, took them 4 hours to go through the small amount of items I brought, had to drive back to the location only for them to take one item out of the group. Took a bassinet from me cleaned it up and sold it to the guy next to me for double what they bought it from me for. Literally told me Ill give you 25, than the guy who was standing next to me asked okay I want it, she responded with okay 50 dollars. the guy laughed saying I should have just gave you 35 in the parking lot we both would have been happier. Rude people, bad environment, nothing good about this experience.

This review is to save you from the long drive to the store in hope of selling your stuff. I took the like new baby gear including gym, high chair, swing , bouncer , stroller, baby clothes and toys. I was offered $12 for my fisher price high chair and $14 for $200 stroller. And rest all were rejected for one reason or another. I took them back home . I would rather donate than sell them to make huge profits. Not to mention about the prices they sell use products. A doctor set was priced $7 , a few bucks cheaper than walmart.I am sure they would have bought for few cents from the owner.

I was at the Surprise Once Upon A Child today (10/27/15) for Tote Bag Tuesday. I love that they offer this discount to us! I always look forward to going! I love the Surprise store! Always clean! The ladies there are always nice & helpful! Judy was my check out lady and she makes it fun to be in the store. She is very nice to all of her customers! I will totally recommend this store to anyone looking for kids clothes, shoes, toys, etc. They ROCK!!!

Ive shopped MANY second hand retail stores, and for childrens clothing this store is my favorite! As worked in this environment for many years Ive learned its not easy to please everyone, but this location did beyond that! Had great customer service and great clothes! Will be returning soon! Thank you Once Upon A Child in Surprise! Keep up the great work!!
