Lets start by saying THIS STORE BUYS STOLEN PROPERTY. If you have had any baby items stolen from your yard in the Avondale area check here first! When I contacted the store and informed them that they were advertising my stolen stroller on offer up and asked them to take it down so I can come and inspect it to make sure it was/was not my stroller they ignored my request! When the store manager Ginger is very unprofessional. She needs to fired. The first conversation with her was heart breaking...She told me the cops were not going to be able to help me!! Everything she said I repeated to the cop that was taking my report... Im a single mother with no job...I bought my car seat at a yard sale for 5$!! I found that stroller at a yard sale for 35$ by the grace of God I have been able to get what I need for my baby. I informed the office that had taken the report that its a black and red trending jogging stroller with 3 wheels and the rubber handle on the right side turns all the way around but the left is still secure. It was taken that morning before 8am and when I called the store to ask when they got that stroller in they confirmed it was that same morning... But because I didnt have proof of purchase or a serial number the cop was unable to confirm it...So I had to go BUY my stroller back! So lets remember I asked the store to take the stroller off the shelf so I can inspect it..The stroller was still out Infront of the store for sale! That made me mad because I informed them that even if I couldnt prove it was mine that I would purchase it back anyways. I asked if I could get some kind of discount. First the lady said she couldnt get ahold of the managers. I asked her to keep trying till she got one on the phone. Thats when she got Ginger on the phone. They said 10℅ was the employee discount and that was the best they could do...Yes while she was on the phone I was telling my ride that IF this comes back to be my stroller AND If they find who stole it I was definitely going to press charges and I was going to "trash this store online with a review"...The lady gave me the store phone and the manger began to tell me that I was "threatening her" and called me a liar because she "never said the cops couldnt help me"... Remember I repeated everything she said to the cop that was taking my report! I ended up hanging up on her and said "I just want to buy my stroller back Im not here to be called a liar by the manager!!!" She called the cops on me!!! So I got on the phone with the cops and was on the phone when they got there! They agreed with me with the time frame of when the stroller was stolen and sold its very possible its mine but with no proof I had to purchase it. Its my fault my stroller got stolen and its my fault that I didnt have proof...But there is NO REASON WHY ANY MANAGER SHOULD EVER ACT THE WAY SHE DID OR EVER CALL A CUSTOMER, YES I USE TO SHOP THERE, A LIAR!! I WORK IN CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT. I will be putting in a formal complaint to the corporate office.

The owner of this store is by far the rudest person I have ever encountered, she will look at all the items you are selling to her and out of 300 pieces she will say only about 20 of the items are worth any type of value, she will then ask you if you want to donate the remaining of the clothes she supposedly calls “stained, ripped or out of style”. These clothes you donate are a donation to her store that she is so upset about that she spent $400,000 for. I went through the store trying to figure out what was the problem with the clothes I was bringing in and to my surprise a lot of the clothes on the racks for sale were very used and priced more than stores like Target or Wal Mart. I then realized that when she refuses the “damaged” clothes and gives you the option to donate them you basically have no other option unless you want to pack all the clothes back up and drive them home. If you are looking for children’s clothes at a reasonable price go to Goodwill, Savers or even Wal Mart!! This owner is a rip off and its sad being that a lot of her clientele are families that are on budgets but want nice clothes for their children. Also, the lady in front of me was telling me that her daughter was turning in her bike to get another one, this bike was a really nice bike and the owner only wanted to give her $3.00 for it, she told her the reason was she could only sell it for $10.00. I went to the back were the bikes are and I found a smaller bike that was in worse condition than this bike being sold for $22.50, so I offered the lady $10.00 (not even needing the bike)!!! This sent the owner over the top threatening to not do business with me so, I asked her to give me back all the items I took in and left. Very sad that business owners of stores like this take this much advantage of families on budgets.

When a cpworker of mine told me about "once upon a child" I was really excited! I had looked them up online, and their store looked very promising! Even was thinking about becoming a frequent shopper there. BOY WAS I WRONG... I had gotten there a little early, had approched the employees that was setting up what looked to be a make-shift sidewalk sale... Said "I know you guys are busy and arent open yet, but when you find the time can you help me unload a swing?" The gentleman said in a very rude demeanor "Were not open until 10". I said "okay, no problem" and continued to wait the 10-15 min until they were open. All the while watching a crowd of people sworm towards the store. After they had opened I circled around the store checking out the prices of the clothing [which happen to be all used and the SAME price as brand new clothing at walmart or target!] Finally, 35 min later, I was able to be helped... Only after mentioning I have a baby on my hip and a stroller to push, was I helped with the swing. then continued to wait for an apprasel. Which... happened to be highway robbery. They offered a measily $12 for a swing that regular MSRP was $70!!!! The lady stated in demeaning tone, "we offer at least half retail value". Um... I paid $40 second hand, and now she said retail value is $24? Sick of the wait, sick of the snooty employees, sick of the dingy dim lighting and crowded fire hazard of an establishment I just told the lady "okay, whatever give me the money" I was ready to leave. Maybe I had too high of expectations for a second hand store? I would NOT recommend shopping here! Not only was there lack of customer service, the place was a freakin dump-The goodwill is a better bet!

I had high hopes for this location - the two girls running it were bubbly, outgoing and helpful - turns out theyre crooks. I found a lot of quality items my first time shopping there - then I made the mistake of trying to sell my goods to them for resale. I brought in several items that I could have sold for at least $50 total, bare minimum, on Craigslist or Offer up for which this store will likely make $75+. If you want money for your resaleable items, do the work bc this place is a joke. Do not leave this store without your goods or your money, because they will not call you with an offer. Then when you call to find out why this is, you need to know the exact date, timestamp, and coordinates of your drop off and subsequent seisure of your items that you WONT get any money for. If you do not know this information, youre told told to shove off. If you do, and its past the date on the tiny coupon, they have seized your property with your permission. Not once did we ever receive any communication from this location regarding our resaleable items unless it was us calling them, and their resolution was that theyd call us back (stated on multiple occasions along with asking for our contact information for follow up) which has never actually happened over the course of the last 5months (when we originally brought or items in). Whoever bought my brand new, breathable mesh crib liner, baby carrier, plenty of shoes, and unused nursery decor has inadvertently and unbenounced to them, aided in the delinquicy yet efficiency of this businesss theft tactics. And PS, everything is overpriced, but only knowing how they go about getting these items, am I suddenly upset about the outrageous pricing.
